Pro tip for people short on time: invest in a pressure cooker. They often also have other settings like slow cooking and rice making, but the pressure setting can turn a 6 hour cook into 30mins. Just throw all your ingredients in at once, set to however long you like, and go. I've straight thrown frozen pork loin into them with 10 different veggies and hit go for an hour, and everything was perfectly cooked. No thawing, no stirring, no real worry about burning. It's great.

Traditional pressure cooker terrified me, and also needed watching over if you use gas stove. It wasn't until I got an electric version that I dared use one. Absolute game changer indeed.

I remember 40+ years ago, I had to do a project in high school where I had to compare restaurants vs. grocery shopping and cooking at home. I found for the same quality of food, it was 4 times more expensive to go to a restaurant or get fast food than to cook at home. I think it's more than that now, especially if you stock up on sales.

Thank you for not only making it easy for those of us less skilled in the kitchen, but also considering budget.

I’ve found that the best way to save money on groceries is to start with a meal list. That makes it easier to shop, plan on inventive ways to use leftovers, have what you need at your fingertips, and really enjoy cooking. Just a quick example: we always have ham on Christmas. Next day is leftover Christmas dinner. Day 3 is ham, potato and cheese casserole. Then we go for bean soup, using the ham bone and some leftover ham for flavor. You’ll have beans left, I’m sure. You can make refried beans with some of them to eat with tacos or enchiladas, and put some in a pot of chili. I realize this example is kind of extreme because of so much food at Christmas, but maybe it will get your creative juices flowing! PS. If you plan it right, you might even have enough candied yams left to make a sweet potato pie and/or muffins. You can save money, just plan ahead a little and be flexible. Use your crock pot and other appliances to help you out. After all, we’re not trying to turn you into Julia Child!

This channel is so underrated. I don’t know why the algorithm isn’t picking it up as much as other “nonsense” channels or videos out there. They have an organized, straight to the point, and overall great tips and vibes in all of their videos. Keep it up! Just know that you are helping so many people. Cheers!

don't let those comments weigh on you! some people prefer to focus on why they can't instead of how they can. Thanks for showing us *HOW WE CAN!*

0:45 isn't that practically every 'just-off-the-highway' small town main street in America? 9:43 check the tag and make sure it doesn't say something like "must buy 3" or similar

I think a video on how to cook in a tiny kitchen would be great. I’ve had several teeny kitchens over the years and the challenges are real. I had a 12” x 14” countertop at one place and couldn’t afford any premade food.

One tip I've been using is buy tomato sauce in a can store brand instead of a jar. I add my own seasoning and it's CHEAP. You are my favorite tips and cooking channel!!

My only issue with using the app for pick up, is the store often has stuff on markdown that doesn’t reflect in the app. I don’t wanna buy a whole bag of onions at full price when I can get an overflowing bag for 99cents because they were marked down

Bidenflation has made a home cook out of me. I have learned to make everything from authentic Mexican, to Creole, to made from scratch pasta. I can legit feed 2 for a week for the price of one of those drive-thru you just paid for. Your tips are spot on, COOK YOUR OWN. Better yet, grow some of it. 😉
