What makes starters go out? Is there a preventative measure for them? I always assumed that keeping the battery good helped it or is it just hit or miss that they would fail?
Hey my 92 town car wont do nothing when I turn the key had to jump the starter with a screw driver idk if it's the solenoid or in the ignition any ideas?
Would a '13 expedition with a 5.4 3v, 120K would that still have cam phaser and rocker issues? A local Ford store told to me to listen very carefully cold and warm, any 5.4 could become very expensive. They said the rockers have a TSB for all engines. Not all fail but it s a risk.
So basically they want you to take the small eyelid on the yellow wire and cut it off and then why are that wire into the lead wire that's on the starter but what a lot of people do is just take a lead wire off and put the factory wire back on where the lead wires at it's up to you
So i have a 2011 grand marquis. Original starter shit the bed, so I replaced it with that same ford one and it didn’t even last 2 years or 20,000 miles . Very disappointing , but its still under warranty
I think I have the same issue, i turn the key and just makes a 1 click sound, after 2 tries it turns on, alternator was low and also.the battery, but now i have to change the starter possibly. I bought the starter in march of 2021
The starter looks easier on the 06 than the 01 Crown Victoria I had. The bottom support braces were in the way on the 98-02's. I do have a question for you. On my '07 Town Car, the valve cover gaskets are leaking. How difficult of a job is it to change the gaskets? I've watched countless videos that say you don't have to take the whole cowl and master cylinder apart and some say you do.
Yeah I have a 98, it is much trickier to do. I found out the starting problem was due to worn column bushings, they moved the shifter a bit and it is not in park mode. On my 98 with the valve covers I took out the m/c and cowl. Depends on your tools and and skill.
Seems like you're the only person complaining about that seems like you're the one with the issue and it seems like if you're going to complain then you don't belong here because I don't tell her to people's whiny little complaints I don't like that at all it's free information and you're here complaining about something like a little kid not getting candy
Google says....passenger side. Common sense says....where the trans and engine meet up, like every other American V8 ever. It's hard to make videos that aren't shaky, especially when you need your hands to take starters out. The videos on my channel will make you throw up, and we're on vacation in them, not even holding any ratchets.
