The offroads class has the most non-raceable vehicles which would probably be more suitable to put all the weaponized ones in the military class but some other ones like the Caracara, Ramp Buggy and Blazer Aqua can stay, they suit the offroads class perfectly.
I remember early on in gta's life you could actually race the space docker. Granted you also had to glitch the vehicle from story mode to online which was a pain in the ass in on its own but u could technically race it lol

Thanks Broughy! Just started researching for off-road racing, came to you first. Was wondering if it made a difference from your test track to actual off-road driving and thank you for all the information on that. Believe it or not I know alot of players who would like to know about the quickest, handling, etc. off-road results but I do see that it would be way to intensive for someone as busy as you explained. Even just what you explained here has helped me alot. I drive a jeep and I am just starting to get into off-roading in the game. I been on for years and enjoy racing and just started into the stats as well and what they actually do, the last couple of years. I spent many wasted millions going by rock* and some others and what a difference from what you show. Still using your google files as well for stats. Very informative. Thanks for all you do!
Can you setup an offroad race at some point between the Vagrant and the BF400? 15 BF400's vs 15 Vagrants? I'm interested to see how the BF400 does offroad where it doesn't get as many chances to wheelie and make the speed up against the Vagrant.
Though I typically agree with your "class-breaking" grievances, I disagree this time. BF400 and Sanchez ARE offroad motorcycles and WOULD be faster than most other offroad options. Particularly with the BF400 being a rally champ model. I think it is fair this time around.
I was already in a right state because I uploaded this last night but realised I had a few mistakes in the footage. Then I realised I wanted to have a different vehicle in the thumbnail. Then I realise the intro for the ramp buggy was actually showing the ramp buggy spoilered version. The only way you can actually race off-road vehicles is with a track specifically designed to fuck the bikes over (e.g. include deep river crossings to sink them, or make a super-bumpy section with stunt pieces that send them flying).
"If you're doing an off-road stunt race, you can't be knocked off." If you are doing ANY race in a motorbike you can't be knocked off. Motorbikes have been infected with stunt physics everywhere except freeroam. Off-road, old school physics, stunt race, it's all the same to motorbikes.
So, for the money, the real meta is the Kamacho. Plus, having Sports class speed in something that's taller and wider than a Rhino tank is hilarious and terrifying. It's about as big as it is fast.
The suspension geometry and the wheelbase is a stat in it's own right when it comes to how these vehicles interface with the gameworld thru the physics engine, if the wheelbase is close to a square they're verye prone to spin unexpectedly, if the wheelbase is highly elongated they become more prone to roll over during heavy cornering. It's a difficult thing to quantify but it makes a major difference for which cars are controllable as you experience tractionloss. Would be interesting to see a video exploring just where the center of mass are located according to the game files for various vehicles, balancing them off a edge and see when they tip over I know it varies and isn't just the center of a model.
Something broughy doesn't say is that the trophy truck and the desert raid will roll over in any turn that has even the slightest of bumps unless you slow down significantly. To see this in action go race it on the Mudslide track and watch as the guy that accidentally picked the dune laps you because you keep falling off the slalom at the end before the straight.
I'm alright with the Ariel Nomad and Jeep Gladiator being the "top dogs". They're such new and powerful vehicles both IRL and in-game. What I will get some flak for is this: I feel you may as well go the last extra step, Broughy, and do proper offroad testing. I understand the enormous workload you're already enduring and I sympathize with you. I just figure for offroad vehicles some all-terrain testing makes perfect sense.
@@thehutch4823 If you want to retest _over 600 vehicles_ to find out how they perform off-road go ahead. Based on this video Broughy will _not_ do that for the aforementioned reasons, but it seems you can't accept that so you continue to pester him despite being told otherwise.
This might be some Mandela Effect shit going on, but I swear the Vagrant was NOT even in the top 15, and now suddenly it's faster than the Kamacho. What.
For anyone wanting to see the actual _Off road_ performance, you can watch Digital Car Addict's Offroad capabilities series of almost all cars suitable for offroad, those are: most Off-road class vehicles, Sports class cars made for offroad, most SUVs and more.
fun fact, the BF400 stunt race allows custom Hexers on it. I did that exact thing and got 1st place (or something stupid like that). one of my most favorite memories from this pile of hot garbage
Note on the marshell and liberator, i made a monster truck climb last team standing with cars and props to go over with one team having marshals and another having liberators. and the liberator has alot more torqu then the marshall. the marshall could barley complete the course whereas the liberator could much more easliy. so imo the liberator is way better
Just from anacdotal experience, the desert raid has more power than the trophy truck, which is really good for Mount Chilliad. My friend has a trophy truck and I have the desert raid, and I could climb verticles that he couldn't.
Hey, I just bought the Vagrant (I like how it looks), but I just ran a race and couldn't use it. Not even the generic, non-custom, version appeared (I had to use a generic Trophy Truck). Does anyone know why?
Hey, first of all, thanks for answering me. However, I can assure you (since I was the host) that custom vehicles were allowed and that besides the Trophy Truck, there were more cars available (all non-custom, because I don't have any), and I chose it because I thought it was the best vehicle available (since I didn't remember the positions on this list). But I'm certain that the Vagrant wasn't available (nor in its non-custom version) and I'm almost certainly neither the Kamacho (which I don't own, but I would have chosen because I know it's a solid vehicle). I don't know if this changes something, but the race was "Mudslide", which is an "off-road only" race.
As i have said before, all of the bikes and little quad bike type vehicles are fine until you get stomped on by a Kamacho. You say even then it's fast enough to catch back up. But nah not in my experience
Yes, but if I included all the random stock vehicles that can be used in off road races in addition to the bikes we’d be here for hours. I stuck to the two most relevant, and other vehicles can be seen in their actual class videos
To hell with the others... KAMACHO FOR THE WIN!!! Kamacho is my favourite vehicle in GTA. plus for some reason I pull off drifts better in it than other cars.
Its flogging a dead horse i know but why the f is the ramp buggy in offroads???? much as i love my rampy boy its not my go to offroad racing vehicle! (for anyone with a bit of pocket change burning a hole in their GTA pocket get the desert raid or trophy truck or kamacho theyre great fun machines to go up cliffs with very qickly!)
It's just stupid that you can ride the BF400 - I kind of get the Sanchez but it's wrong as well - because it' just makes racing anything else redundant. There are other classes which have the problem of OP vehicles but sometimes an argument can be made for them being in that class. We need better balancing and maybe some reassessments or races which just ban the quicker vehicles, which you do see occasionally.
It’s actually in the service class but is usable in off road races. You can find it’s lap time in the respective video. It’s nowhere on top pace for off roads
The regular Ramp Buggy, which you can own, can be upgraded, but can't have a spoiler. But there is another version of the Ramp Buggy, which you can only get in the Ramp Buggy mission, and it comes with a spoiler, but can't be upgraded (since you don't own it). Therefore, they are listed as two vehicles, (I assume).
