Ever since the first boats were designed, people have been trying to find ways to make them travel across the water faster. The introduction of engines obviously took this to a whole new level, but there’s more to it than simply adding extra power. Boats need to be able to absorb the impacts caused by being lifted up by waves, and transfer as much of their power into forward momentum as possible… and, in many ways, it’s far more difficult to do than building a fast car or aircraft. There are, though, some companies that have been able to overcome these challenges…and they have created some incredible machines that look like nothing you've seen before.
