I dont know if you know, and I'm technically a year late, lifeformed got on tunic, which was pretty big imo, and he even contributed to some of the games mysteries, if you haven't played tunic I'd absolutely recommend checking it out.

I'm curious your thoughts on the game/controls now? It's definitely a game with sorta "quirky" controls that are non-intuitive but after hours and hours, I find their is actually a ton of nuance and room for mastery.

I don't understand the gripes with the controls. They are very intuitive. Hold up to scale up walls--hold against the wall while clinging to float down slowly. If they are not intuitive then I suspect the person in question has not played many platformers. Apart from some nuances, which are only actually _required_ in the later levels and in speedruns (which by then you probably will have figured them out already), the controls are fundamentally intuitive. DX didn't change anything about the controls by the way--except some bug fixes, the only thing that changed in DX was the difficulty curve, with different level placement.

kamajje the main problem is that fast movement isn’t fluid at all. At least to me, every movement option feels independent of everything else, which makes it really hard to keep continuous movement. You have to grind muscle memory for literally everything if you want to keep any momentum at all (which is needed to finish levels with s rank, or even complete some levels at all), which isn’t any fun unless you’re really dedicated. I don’t have a problem with games having an extremely high tech ceiling, but this game feels like the movement is just slightly off. I think If dustforce had much less friction it would fix most of the problems I have with it (maybe make the friction a little like Waveland, where sliding is more of a focus rather than precise movement, also making harder inputs easier to execute).
