PASADENA - At approximately 1140, LACoFD received reports of a traffic accident involving a vehicle vs a pole. Upon arrival units found a single vehicle into a traffic signal. The victim was in full arrest. Unfortunately the driver of the vehicle perished at the scene. It appears that CHP is handling the investigation. Traffic was impacted both ways on Huntington Drive.

In MVA cases, where there is ANY suspect cause, autopsies (by law) will be performed to determine the cause, since physical incapacitation due to to drugs/alcohol must be learned. In our litigious society today, lawsuits will always follow, so thorough investigations are a necessity, and that includes investigation of the area, the vehicles, and the people who were in them (usually the drivers) but sometimes everyone, since they must determine the cause of death on everyone and report it. Today, almost any cause can be found and diagnosed and believe me, they will search until they find answers!

They're all in a hurry to get somewhere, and that is the reason for many auto accidents, along with drugs/alcohol, speeding and distractions.

It's L.A. most of them are selfish. Plus the only time they slowed down was when coroner arrived to be nosey.

I live in Scotland and we have one police force and one fire dept , why are there always so many people at each incident ? I, m just wondering how many forces are there and is it different in each state ?
@sdgturtle
@sdgturtle 5 лет назад
So it depends on the severity of the incident. I live in Maryland and where I am we a many fire departments and 1 main police force which is the county police. That's how it is in the states. But again if you have say a massive accident that involves several vehicles then you will have more than one police force and several firefighters from different jurisdictions.

It's better than sitting around playing cards at the station! They always leave sufficient people on duty at base, should there be another incident, or they're reachable by phone instantly. Often, more than one near-by station will respond, they all hear the call on their radio bands. They sort it out who is in charge when they get there, but they all work together to rapidly save lives if at all possible.

Im a volunteer rescue member and firefighter in Alabama and most people are right. It depends on the severity of the incident. If it’s a fatal wreck they’ll be tons and tons of law enforcement, Fire department, rescue squad, EMS and state police. For accidents with no injuries or minor injuries it’ll just be EMS, Fire and law enforcement.

Hmm. Heart attack caused the accident - or resulted from it? Since the person died, maybe they’ll never know. Amazing this happened at such a busy intersection & no one else got hurt. RIP.

I'm curious about that as well... I'm thinking the attack happened as a result of the wreck... May they rest in peace...

They WILL know, because there will probably be an autopsy. Plus, a thorough investigation will ensue and they will learn almost exactly what transpired! B.lood tests, tissue tests, the condition of the heart and vessels, scans, dissection of the heart muscle can show when the tissue died from several causes; forensic pathologists are very good at what they do and it is very rare that they cannot find out the cause of death or when it occurred. Many MEs just put down "cardiac arrest" on the autopsy report but absolutely EVERYONE dies of cardiac arrest because that simply means the heart stopped beating. But WHY that happened and exactly when, CAN be ascertained with all the advanced medical technologies we have today.

@@MJLeger-yj1ww in an autopsy the prediction of exactly what time a heart attack could have occurred isnt developed yet. They can estimate the time but that would be wayyyy more than the 5 minutes after the wreck....
@MJLeger-yj1ww
@MJLeger-yj1ww 4 года назад
@@jorgevencespizzakiller933 I'm afraid you are very wrong! To explain: "Prediction" means to foretell in advance, and when a heart attack has already happened it IS visible in an autopsy IF that is what occurred. It is certainly possible to diagnose the propensity of a heart attack, we have blood tests now, cardiograms, MRIs and other scans to see the size of the heart and the surrounding vessels, and, possibly help prevent an attack IF the patient will heed our advice. And certainly in autopsy, a heart attack is obvious by numerous diagnostic methods, the size of the heart, size of the vessels and valves, if there is a rupture, and dissection of the heart can tell exactly where the occlusion or death of muscle occurred, and they can tell how long that heart tissue has been without blood supply (dead) because it deteriorates. It is the attending forensic pathologist's job to be very astute about diagnosing the cause of death and proving it in many ways including pictures of the heart, its vessels and valves, tests, scans, etc. then reporting that on the autopsy report. Of course, it should be noted that an investigation will be FAR MORE INTENSIVE if there is suspicion of murder or an accidental death that occurs when a person is not ailing, is not elderly, and does not have a disease that can contribute to a MI or heart attack. It is often tempting to just put "natural causes" as the cause of death in an elderly person, and not go to the expense of investigation procedures if there is no suspect of foul play or suicide. It happens on occasion. Also, cause of death is often listed as "cardiac arrest" but that merely means the heart stopped beating, and it always does when you die! But they are not going to do an autopsy UNLESS there is good reason or the family requests it, because it means added expense.

In Cali the news shooters can be as close as they want as long as they aren't in the way, as soon as tape goes up.. Then u gotta stay behind. They listen to radio scanners that's how they know. It's their job.
