That's Panorama City. They were probably coming from Sepulveda speeding and lost control once they noticed that right after the curve there was a street light.

Too bad it takes situations like this to bring the neighborhood together to chit-chat, to catch up with what's going in each other's lives.

I grew up in this area. The street this occurred on - Lassen Street. We called it the Lassen Freeway. Nobody did the speed limits back then. Seems true today.

So, Gustavo says that when he got there that neighbors had already pulled the driver out, the guy in the orange shirt, and "then they went ahead and took out the other two guys that were in the back". I'm curious as to why there were two guys in the back and the driver was alone in the front? Seems a little odd to me.

If the car would of hit the pole another foot or so farther back, they would have been using body bags and not stretchers.

*I have no idea if anyone can ever find this clip* as sadly it is in Russian. It came up as a recommended video so I took a chance. *DEAR GOD* !! It features their rescue fire unit although it is *very* poor state of affairs. There are clips compiled of fatal accidents. These people drive mainly tin toaster shaped "cars" and no one follows traffic rules if there even are some. Also there are lots of people jammed into them. Of course it was bitterly cold in these incidents. First one car was being pulled from a river. But when the diver/rescuer went down there was a girl who survived. The rest? You may as well had first row tickets. I've never thought I'd see so many dead bodies. Once extricated from one car the dead bodies were thrown into a pile like firewood. After a few clips like this I really thought I'd get sick. From death grips on the steering wheels to the look of horror frozen on their faces. But most of them actually had one survivor in it whether died later most likely.

They need to raise the driving age significantly.
