I know, right? The devs should've buffed that but we know they're skipping out. No way should Fatality survive those as difficult as they are to land.

That unconsistency on Marth's tippers doomed the character. It's a shame, because in some circumstances Marth can take a stock in 70%, but sometimes he has to struggle around 180% to take the next stock.

@@cesardelgado5138 That's moreso because the attacks stale, targets can DI, and falcon is heavier than most would think. It has nothing to do with tipper inconsistency lol. They should be stronger, but I guess an edge-guarding character like Marth would be too busted in that regard to Sakurai

For me it's the fact that Marth's tipper fair isn't a kill aerial. Why???

@@Spyder-Marth Considering Steve can get amazing damage potential and disjoints, and kill power by camping till diamond, I'd think it's not that strong...

@@calebw8189 correct mid would be like anyone outside of the top 150ish whose plays competitively. And fatality is most certainly a top player. Top 50 in the world, any player whose the best player of a character in the world is a top player.

@@zym194 Top for there player yeah, but I think the character itself depends a lot as well. Jaka is probably the best Isabelle, but I don't consider him to be a top player just because he won, what, one or two majors? I'm not sure how many, correct me if I'm wrong

@@Sickmmaner interesting point, i guess it would depend on your personal definition of "top player"? Whether you wanted to draw the line in majors won, character tier, name recognition. If jaka won at least a B level major or 2 and is the best isabelle i think i would consider him a top player. Where would you draw the line?

And spacing is kind of hard with how fast falcon is. Falcon is so quick that when Ignaize would try to pressure with aerials such as fair and back air, falcon would just run up shield and he would be so close to ignaize that he gets a free out of Shield punish like nair, dash attack, or if I remember correctly, even grab. To where if those aerials hit the edge of falcon’s shield the punishes might not connect or be too slow, and ignaize could just shield in that time.

in this matchup you have to overspace or underspace your landing aerials because falcon is too fucking obnoxiously fast to space against I think the reward for landing a tipper should be greater

I mean he was middle stage and also only 130 something percent with good DI and he’s falcon so not too light but lol yes that’s stupid even dark pit tipper would kill that percent I think 🤔

@@AndresAndr95 It's more so that it's a back-air requiring precise spacing due to the tipper, so for a back-air you'd expect it to be particularly strong but it's just decently strong. And again compared to Lucina it's not much stronger.

I main Marth and secondary Ganon and I definitely find myself winning a lot easier in many matchups using Ganon xD

@@sef0917 that doesn’t mean anything, you can’t use your performance at low/mid level to discuss character viability at top level. In melee for example you would probably have an easier time winning with Ganon than you would with yoshi, but no one is saying yoshi is worse than Ganon, yoshi is just a lot more complex than Ganon and harder to pick up. The same thing applies here, just because you do better with Ganon in elite smash than you do with marth doesn’t mean anything for top level

As a lucina and marth player, let me just say that Marth is bad. Only worth playing in friendlies. His pace, spacing, and threat range are all limited for the possibility of better damage in the short term but when lucina has nair - fsmash at 70, tippers usually don't matter. The only moves that Marth has that are better than lucina are filt, counter, dair and arguably nair and uptilt, everything else is a direct downgrade (especially bair).
