Funnily enough, Mazda has just announced a new rotary engined model, but surely that is not what Tsuchiya-san was expecting with his comment at the end of this video. Let’s just hope for a worthy succesor to the incredible FD-RX7!
Well it’s out, it’s the range extender for an electric crossover, not exactly what we wanted, but (!) all we have to do is wait for one to crash, pull out this single rotor range extender and put it together with others!
Tsuchiya did well keeping up with the FD. Tsukuba favors the FD. If that were an R34, it would've been smoked. Mine's R35 is no joke. A heavyweight cornering so well, now THAT is a proper set up
@@RearWheelZeal Last time R34 and RX-7 faced off head to head, Mine's R34 came out on top followed by RE Amemiya, FEED. I believe it was East vs West battle
The FEED RX-7 is a perfect snug in style between aggressive and subtle, lol, i don't know what's word. The PanSpeed one's wide body, if the wing were swapped for a body-length straight model and the interrior were further stripped, that could be a mid 2000 GT Race Car material even if it's prohibited from using Rotary engine. (Well, might as well using Rotary Engine as surely the car would be too old to enter any FIA/FFSA sanctioned GT races already anyway at the time)
The new Mazda rotary is a little petrol engine working as electric generator to give power to the electric engines. Those electric engines move the car. Not the rotary.
So everyone just ingnores that the actual fastest lap was done by Esprit R35, and launch control was banned, and PAN FD got the massive wing like no other? Yes, FD is a dream that came true, but R35 is obviously the greatest engineering achivement in Japan's production car history.
