I’m actually Bilbo didn’t leave the ring on the mantle. He said it was there and then Gandalf calls him out for still having it in his pocket so he drops it with a resounding thud and never puts it on the mantle.
Um' Actually in Jurassic Park the park didn't shut down due to a malfunction it was a virus meant to only be a diversion while Neddle stole the dinosaur embryos
I literally only care about you for mike, brennan, and um actually. I will never watch anything else, if you put um actually in its own thing id buy that. But not the dross you put out in between.
Um actually, you swapped the two laundry diagrams in the final question. You said that dry cleaning was not a square, but the second diagram showed the dry cleaning as a square, implying that it was correct
The history of dry cleaning is actually fascinating! The gentleman who created 'dry scouring' ended up becoming the first black man to have a patent, and was able to buy his family out of slavery.
@@micheal2458 Another cool story behind a now ubiquitous product is the story of how Edmund Albius, a young slave, launched the vanilla industry. Pretty interesting if you want to look into it!
@@RealBradMiller It’s very interesting how a lot of inventions of sorts can be traced back to enslaved people, from agriculture to food and technology, it’s fascinating!
@@RealBradMiller thank you for sharing these tidbits! it’s nice to read about important inventions that rarely if ever get covered in any classrooms. it’s important to see the different backgrounds of inventors and how their invention changed their history!
Um Actually, The Frog that joined the pet avengers as "Throg" is not the same one that was turned into a frog by Loki. The Frog that joined the Pet Avengers was a man named Simon Walterson who was a college student at Mississippi University and was turned into a frog by a Witch. After a piece of Mjolnir broke off in a battle, Simon picked up the missing piece, and because it still had the enchantment on it, he gained the powers of Thor, becoming Throg
um actually her gem was brought to earth/supplied by the aliens. This would mean her gem (which is their soul or life in da lore) was alien, and she just got her regular gem person form on earth. This would mean she is still technically an alien.
@@felixfoster3983 don't the injectors inject a goo made from diamond sweat into the earth in kindergardens, which then develop into gems? src: www.reddit.com/r/stevenuniverse/comments/aidc83/rebecca_lamar_and_miki_here_ask_us_anything/eenar2o/?context=8&depth=9
@@felixfoster3983 Um, Actually gems are grown in kindergartens which take the life force of the planet and condense it down into gems. All the homeworld gems have to do is set up the machines to start the process.
@Ezekiele Hurley See the thing is your talking about Humans, I’m talking about a magic rock person that was made by a space machine. You can’t compare the two. Also technically if more life exists in the universe that would make us a type of alien
Um, actually, Bilbo never left the ring on the mantelpiece. He mentions that he put the ring in an envelope on the mantelpiece only to then realise that he still had it in his pocket.
@@ewarner305 Um, actually, he almost leaves with the ring in his pocket, goes to put it on the mantle, and jerks back and drops it on the floor. It is Gandalf who sets it on the mantle.
@@ewarner305 You would be incorrect. In the film, Bilbo drops the ring in the doorway without the envelope, and Gandalf leaves it where it is. In the novel he attempts to place it on the mantle, drops it, and Gandalf snatches it away to put it on the mantle himself. Just checked.
@@AdamFink83 Yes, it's while they're on the way to the Winkie country to confront the WWW. As to why not shoot it, I think this video is relevant: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BHBbJAIcnBI.html
Another fun fact: the stage version of _The Wizard of Oz_ has all the music from the 1939 movie, but none of the dialog that wasn't from the book. So no Mrs. Gultch or "you were there and you and you and you."
Also the Jitterbug was in no way referencing the dance of the same name, it was just an astonishing coincidence. It was partly removed for that reason.
Um actually, any gems can fuse not just the crystal gems, there are many examples of the same gems fusing to make more powerful versions of the same gem.
@@aquestunending7210 Steven is the only “gem” that can fuse with humans because he is half human himself. None of the other full gems can fuse with humans as seen in the ep where Stevens dad wanted to fuse with Rose and she laughed saying gems can’t fuse with humans.
@@maximilianrau5658 Well Um Actually, the question was referring explicitly to the TV show, Game of Thrones, and not the book, A Game of Thrones, or the book series, A Song of Ice and Fire.
Um, actually, Ruby and Sapphire had multiple episodes where we saw them separate, an episode where we see the story of how they came to be Garnet, and an episode where they get married and the moment they combine as Garnet at their wedding is the most wholesome and heartwarming thing. So yes, Zach, I do expect you to remember that Garnet is a fusion.
Um, actually, two different colored forms of corundum fusing to become an entirely different mineral is ridiculous and it's excusable that he would block that idiocy from his memory.
@@cascharles3838 um actually, I would think the degree of pedantry on display in my previous comment made it clear that I was mostly taking the piss out of OP.
@@RabblesTheBinx um, actually, OP's comment wasn't pedantic at all, they were just making a sweet joke about how they feel about that piece of media. Much like contestants often do on the show itself. I don't see any reason to make fun of it
If it makes you feel any better, Crabbe went from white to black in Deathly Hallow Pt.2 because the original actor got into legal issues. Balances out. Edit: either that or they just got rid of his character all together. Read something about the new guy being named Zabini? Not sure.
I like how the person putting up the chart for laundry instructions accidentally started with the corrected chart, then switched to the faked chart when the answer was revealed. Sounds like something I would do!
Um Actually, during the Harry Potter question, you say that they were recast between the SEVEN films, when there are EIGHT Harry Potter films in total. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was split into 2 separate films.
@@99lodewijk um actually, Minas Tirith IS a castle, but the actual castle itself is on the upper plateau. having a walled off city creep up on the main castle was a quite popular medieval city planning concept ESPECIALLY for maintaining a feudalistic society. the old "look see, the king takes care of us, keeping us guarded from invaders" ideal. as feudalism fell, and religious enlightenment was brought to the masses in the form of the renaissance, the role of the castle was replaced by the role of the church....and if you've ever studied a map of major cities Europe or even a map of Boston you'd know this. maybe try to stay awake during Western Art History survays.
um actually, it's just an article describing the building's function, so whether it's sorted under "Cair" or "Castle", C is still the correct alphabetical sorting. kind of like how when you go into a record store, a band like "I See Stars" isn't gonna be sorted under S. "Jimi Hendrix Experience" would be under J, not H. you would be right if it was Paravel Cair (which technically in English would be how it should be ordered) but English is stupid, and the Pevencie's decided on the latin order instead....which latin is also stupid.
@@tazmon122 Um, actually, a band named "I See Stars" _would_ be filed under I, as it is not a meaningless particle like "the" or "a" and is actually important to the bands name.
Um, actually - in the show Game of Thrones, Tywin admits to Cersei in 4x05 that the Lannister mines dried up 3 years prior, and they owe a tremendous amount of money to the Iron Bank of Braavos
Umm actually, you said "the other ghosts get their time to shine" in reference to Peeves. This implies that Peeves is, himself, a ghost. But he's not, he's a poltergeist, which in the Harry Potter universe is a different thing.
Um, actually I don’t understand why no one has mentioned that in the mythical creatures section they included Drop Bears which are real and extremely dangerous
@@erichan7926 Um Actually everyone knows that Wikipedia is an unreliable source, including Wikipedia. (But that means that Wikipedia _is_ an unreliable source, which means that Wikipedia *isn't* an unreliable source, which means oh dear I've gone crosseyed.)
Um actually, drop bears are real! I had an uncle who forgot to smear vegemite behind his ears before taking the roo out for a walk. He got absolutely mauled, all we found of him was his right foot.
Um, actually there is one more actor who has portrayed Darth Vader. Bob Anderson, an English Olympic fencer and fight choreographer, performed as Darth Vader for the fight scenes in TESB and ROTJ.
Um, actually Frodo is also Bilbo's adopted son and heir. That is why he gets Bag End and all Bilbo's stuff, including the Ring. Also, if you are talking about the movies, Bilbo left the Ring on the floor just inside the door.
Um Actually, the fusion dance from "Steven Universe" is not a Ritualized dance, they just kind of do whatever they're feeling and let their own energy and mind flow with the rhythm and harmony and interpret it to their dances
Um actually, this is way too late, but there were three things wrong with that Steven Universe Fusion question: 1) it isn't a ritualised dance, any dance will do as long as both gems have a true relationship, it doesn't even have to be a wholesome relationship, as when Pink Diamond's Topaz fuses with the corrupted Crystal Gem in spite of hating them, or when she fuses with Lapis Lazuli, trapping both of them in an abusive relationship at the bottom of the sea. In fact, I don't think the dance is even strictly necessary, as the first time Garnet formed neither Ruby nor Sapphire were dancing, Ruby was diving in to protect sapphire from falling debris. 2) The one in the show, Garnet isn't a pure gem, she's a fusion. 3) it isn't only Gems, as long as one of them is a gem, humans can be part of fusions: case in point, Steg and Stevonnie. This might be unique to Steven though, as he is the only known half-human Gem. In fact, I'm pretty sure Steven himself is a fusion, of the pink diamond version of himself, and the human parts of himself. That show was weird. Like, I've never partaken of drugs, but that show made me feel like I was on drugs, you know? I hate that I remember this much about it.
This is not a cross-section of my interests that I was expecting but I vibe with it. Zach is my emotional support white boy and this show feeds my superiority complex lmao
@@jeremybrown2186 I think you’re mixing up Zac Oyama (CH employee and a half Japanese man) and Zach Kornfeld (Try Guy, in this video, and a white Jewish man)
I feel late to this but um actually gems don’t have to be in emotional harmony to fuse, as we see with Lapis and Jasper to form malachite they’re fusion was in complete emotional discord and their fusion was only being utilised as a tool for destruction.
Um actually, in steven universe any dance can create a fusion as long as either both parties are gems or one is part gem part human with a human or a gem. The main part to the fusion is feeling a deep connection with the other they are doing the fusion dance with.
Um, Actually, the ring was not left on the mantlepiece by Bilbo. In the film he drops it in the hallway, and in the novel it is set on the mantlepiece by Gandalf after Bilbo drops it.
Um actually, the qilin is pronounced with the “q” being similar to a “ch” in English, which each of you pronounced wrong, though Trapp was close with his second try. Also, the qilin doesn’t really look like the illustration, and shares more features with a Chinese lion (particularly with its head), and doesn’t usually feature an elongated neck.
@@paulm3952 I can’t speak for the Japanese version, but the Chinese interpretation of the qilin only became associated with the shape of a giraffe in the Ming Dynasty when Zheng He brought a giraffe back to China from his travels, and the appearance was so foreign to the Qing Court that it was incorporated into illustrations of mythical creatures. Prior to this, however, the iconography of the qilin was very different, and didn’t resemble giraffes at all, as there was no frame of reference for such a shape for a creature.
@@reecedisney4242 I mean that the Japanese word for giraffe is 麒麟, which is the same as their word for Qilin. It's probably a loan word from Chinese in the case of the giraffe too.
@@paulm3952 Ahh I see. That’s interesting, because in Chinese, 麒麟 is commonly mistranslated as giraffe, but actually means the creature in question, which is described in Chinese as being more like a unicorn (in that the features that remain constant in each description is that the qilin has a horn and hooves). Meanwhile, the Chinese word for giraffe is 长颈鹿, which literally means “long-neck deer.” I wonder if the source of the mistranslation comes from Japanese kanji, despite having a specific meaning in Chinese 汉字
Um actually there were 8 Harry Potter films. Also Dumbledore was also portrayed by Jude Law, in fantastic beasts 2 but i assume you’re only considering the main films of which there were 8 not seven.
Um actually, Thor doesn’t mention that his brother turned him into a frog in Ragnorok. An actor portraying Thor in a play put on by Loki, in disguise as Odin, depicting Loki’s false death in Thor 2 says it.
Oof, this one was rough to watch. I get that not every contestant is going to know everything and I don't blame these contestants for missing stuff, but this one was brutal.
Fun fact: David Prowse believed during filming that they would be using his voice in the final cut of the film. There's footage you can find of him delivering Vader's lines in a broad UK West Country burr.
Um actually, in the diagram of the Millenium Falcon, the places marked as escape pods are not escape pods, they are airlocks with boarding ramps below them. The escape pod, which was in the front between the “prongs” of the ship, was ejected when Han did the Kessel Run, meaning the ship no longer has escape pods.
Um actually, the kraken is from Greece as well and featured in the story of Perseus, though Scandinavia also had a kraken equivalent that more appropriately suits this imagery.
Um Actually, if you're thinking of Cetus (he sea monster Perseus fought), I don't think Cetus would be considered a kraken, since it's more of a serpent/whale/dog-looking thing
Um actually, they explain it in the film that they used frog DNA to fill the holes in the genes, and some frogs can switch gender from male to female if there is too many of one gender in the population
Fun fact about the Star Wars question. They also did not tell Sebastian Shaw in the first movie (episode 4) that his voice was not going to be used. So while on set he was delivering lines, only for James Earl Jones to be dubbed in later, and Sebastian not knowing until the premier.
Um Actually, Pearl and Garnet are in fact aliens from Homeworld or other planets, but Amethyst was actually “born” on Earth in the Kindergarten, so you can’t technically say she is an alien from another planet.
Fun fact! The stage show version of Wizard of Oz often does include a song and dance number called the Jitterbug and its definitely always highlight of the ensemble dancers.
Um, actually, it's not just the Crystal Gems who can form fusions but all gems, and not necessarily through dance moves but also accidentally. Also humans can technically form fusions like Stevonnie, but only when there is part gem present
Um, actually, for the real life skill question, you guys have put in the correct chart first, when you meant to show the erroneous chart, and the erroneous chart later when you meant to show the correct chart.
@@risottopose9970 Yeah that’s a fair point but being an alien in this context means that you were not made on Earth. She was grown in/on Earth and was technically birthed there, as seen by her hole.
Honestly you're not missing out HBO Max is an abysmal platform that doesn't work half the time. I swear I spend more time fighting it trying to get it to work than actually watching anything. My favorite is when I actually get to work and in has a stroke and gives me the Can't play title error while it's still playing in the background. Honestly if it wasn't for the fact I'm not paying for it, I wouldn't use it. You're better off pirating the content on there because at least then you can watch it without issues.
Um actually, the Millennium Falcon doesn't have missile launchers. Being originally a cargo ship, a container was designed to go between the front prongs, requiring the cockpit to be off center. Unless those missiles were added in recent movies, they shouldn't be there.
Um, actually, Lavender Brown was also recast in the Harry Potter movies. Kathleen Cauley and Jennifer Smith both portrayed her before Jessie Cave did, though Cave is the only one people tend to remember.
Um, actually, you swapped the cleaning chart at the end, showing the correct one during the question, then swapping it for the incorrect version after the reveal.
Um, actually, House Lannister is actually cash poor. It's a major point in the books that Casterly Rock's gold mines are running dry, which is why Tywin is working double time to get a Lannister on the throne.
Um, Actually, Lavender Brown was also recast during the films! Initially played by Jennifer Smith in a credited but non-speaking role in Prizoner of Azkaban, she was recast as Jessie Cave in The Half Blood Prince.
Uhm actually, not only was Lavender Brown recast as white when she became a major character (yikes), but in all of the films, a different, larger actor is used for Hagrid in shots looking from afar, to make him look bigger.
Ehh, the Lavender Brown case is more complicated than that. Yes, someone else came in when the character became more prominent, but there's no reason to assume shenanigans at the base of the matter. Directors have to cast lots of people in tiny roles, and naturally most of them aren't going to be up to the challenge of being a primary character in multiple scenes in the next movie - or they just did one gig as an extra, and decided not to keep going. Is there any evidence to indicate that this sort of thing isn't what happened with Lavender's actresses?
I think they usually kinda tailor the questions to the guests a bit more and they didn't this time so none of the guests were super into the franchises they were asked about and just didn't know the answers
Also also Um Actually After we are introduced the Homeworld gems, Jasper and Lapis fuse seemingly out of spite for the Crystal Gems and Steven, in reality being just a ploy from Lapis to trap Jasper at the bottom of the sea. This is neither for power, nor relationship. Also fusions are sometimes treated as gem-sex by the series itself, heavily implying Jasper abused Lapis during their time at the bottom of the sea. The series makes it a point of making Lapis afraid and really aggressive agaisnt the idea of fusion after they separate, much like some abuse survivors tend to be after they get away from their abuser. PD: if you or anyone you know are the victim of an abuser, please speak up. Please seek safety. Despite whatever the abuser tells you, you deserve love and affection in a healthy way and you should not be mistreated in a relationship. There's millions of people everyday that fall victim and die to abuse, sexual or otherwise. Please, don't become a number, please reach out in a safe manner for you. There's helplines, codes at establishments, friends and family that will be there to help you. You are not alone.
Uhm actually, even if represented as Ghormenghast on the front cover of one edition of Titus Groan, the castle in the novel is explicitly described as Gothic, meaning that whatever castle is on the front cover, it cannot technically be Ghormenghast
Um actually, on the first Vader question, the question says "no less than four portrayals" so although it did not include all portrayals, the question still had no direct inaccuracy to correct, technically.
those are also two different things in Germany (don't know about other parts of Europe, but it's not just Harry Potter) Poltergeist is actually a german word and it means "noisy ghost" because "polter" means to be noisy (specifically the sound of furniture being moved loudly or pans and dishes being samshed together/altogether. "geist" just means ghost. Fun fact: the bachelor-party before a wedding is known as "polterabend" in Germany. It's comprised of the words "Abend" meaning evening and again "polter" because traditionally one would samsh old porcellan for good luck.
I thought the first two castles on the shiny question were Casterly Rock (GoT) and Dawnguard (Skyrim). Would've still gotten the point, which is all that matters.
