This is a TV Broadcast of the Philadelphia Catholic League Football Championship game between the Father Judge Crusaders and the Cardinal O'Hara Lions at Northeast High School on Saturday night December 12, 1981. Cardinal O'Hara finished the regular season in 3rd place in the Southern Division with a record of 4-3 behind Monsignor Bonner (6-1) And Roman Catholic (5-2.) Judge finished the regular season in 4th place in the Northern Division with a record of 5-3 behind Archbishop Wood (7-1), Cardinal Dougherty (7-1) and Bishop Egan (6-2.) Father Judge beat Archbishop Wood in the first round of the playoffs 31-0. Judge's running back Jerry Magallanes rushed for 272 yards and 4 TDs on 38 carries against Wood. Judge then defeated Bishop Egan 14-0 in the semi-final at Veterans Stadium. The shutout was Judge's sixth of the season. O'Hara defeated Roman 9-6 in overtime in the quarterfinal game before beating Bonner 18-3 in the semi-final at the Vet. Cardinal O'Hara won the previous two Catholic League Championships and was looking for a third straight title.
