Father Judge was the defending Philadelphia Catholic League Champion and entered this game with a league record of 3-0, including two shutouts. This Father Judge football team finished undefeated in regular season league play for the first time in school history with a record of 8-0 including 4 shutouts. They only gave up a total of 50 points in the 8 regular season games. Father Judge was defeated 10-0 in the first round of the playoffs in an upset by the Bishop McDevitt Lancers, who made the playoffs for the first time in their twenty year history. Judge concluded their season with a 23-0 victory over neighborhood rival Abraham Lincoln on Thanksgiving Day to finish with an overall record of 9-3.
