He sounded like a great father, someone you would wanted be as a dad, great job he did raising his beautiful daughters! Always loved him as an actor and now seeing him with his daughters and another video of how they were raised and what was instilled into them! RIP Sydney!
What a beautiful family! He is strong, brave, courageous, and has been through lot of experiences over this life! He survived it all until today, to be reunited at 91years old with his 2 beautiful daughters ! Congratulations Sydney! We love you!
My sincerest condolences to his beautiful daughters, grandchildren and family. Mr Poitier sounded like a loving and active dad in his daughter’s lives. That is so refreshing to know, especially since he was a busy man in his wonderful career! You can see the love and admiration they had for their dad. I have so many favorite movies, but I loved “To Sir with Love” and “In the heat of the night”, and of course the trilogy movies that he teamed up with Bill Cosby (Uptown Saturday Night, Let’s Do it again, A Piece of the Action). Thank you Mr Poitier for representing blacks on the screen with dignified and respectful roles that we could be proud of. Thanks for fighting for our civil rights and social change, and not backing down from being blacklisted for standing your ground. I'm old enough to remember watching Sidney's old movies as a kid. I'm 64 now. Sidney Poitier, as far as I'm concerned, was/is one of the finest actors who ever graced a stage or a screen. The man is gold. His is pure class. The fact that he is black, and still accomplished this during the era of real race hate - is beyond amazing. But also some credit is due to the whites in high places that loved him enough to make sure he got there. Those are the unsung heros. After, ALL whites were not racists! I wasn't!
I'm about a year younger than you and yeah I can remember seeing him in movies since I was a young kid and my parents loved him and I do too . He was one of the most beloved actors by alot of us white people .

Great man. I always admired his dignity and noble performances. He raised the status of the "Black man" in the many roles that he played. He never stooped to the standard status quo of black actors in his time. A positive role-model. Zena

@weedieman weedieman He had an affair the entire marriage with Diahann Caroll. Then he left his wife before his success grew. He DIDN'T want to Build anything with her. So it wasn't her, it's him. He admitted to making many Mistakes in the past.

Yes he was the joy of my life...watching his movies...especially during my college life. Great great memories will live on forever. MY FAVORITE as I was growing up🥰

@Patricia Grady did I say that he's a great man? Just want to emphasize that yes he cheated on his first wife but he didn't cheated on his current wife. There's a huge difference there, I'm still giving a chance to those who correected their mistakes and live with it.

I have never met Sidney Poitier in the flesh but he has had more of a profound influence on my psyche than all the male figures that I looked-up to in my youth, including my own father. This was mainly because of the great work he was doing on the big screen, filling me with so much pride that I almost felt I was an extension of the man himself (I used to ad lib some of his catchy lines as I walked out the cinema after seeing one of his films __ lines like the assertive, "They call me Mr. Tibbs!" from "In the Heat Of The Night", and the defiant, "They don't need no excuses!" from "Blackboard Jungle" The man was the perfect idol/ hero in my life then and he continues to be...
THEE Actor, my childhood days going to the movies has a great and wonderful memories of Sydney Poitier. Wow his daughters are beautiful. Watching back at some of the films today he could tell them look at my two beautiful daughters. RIP

I admired Sidney Poitier since the mid-50s to the present. He is a good father, and has beautiful daughters. I'll aways regard him with the utmost respect, in picutes and cinema. Madeline
Sidney Poitier first wife was African-American and had daughters from his previous marriage. I wonder why his first set of daughters are not seen I tried looking for photos could not find none. The daughters from the second marriage that are beautiful with long hair are always shown. I love Sidney Poitier. This is my opinion.
You couldn't find his first daughters because they are BLACK & don't look like white women!!!! Sidney is from the old guard that thought you had to have a pink woman to be successful.....
Lisa Toro if they choose to be seen they would. They’re all adults with their own lives. Do you realize that that man is 92 years old? How old do you think his children are? Those women are parents and grandparents now😔 they have lives of their own.
