Really helpful! Never thought of using flams on cymbals.

David Silveria was my first flam guru!!! Either you like Korn or not, he just knew how and when to "fat those grooves" like you say!!!

Yep, My mind just complemented the groove with those sick Bea's riffs \m/

The tune sounds like that part after Bea's solo in White Dove, where that tasty riff comes in.

The space between the grace note and the real note is constant. It stays the same regardless of the tempo. A flam at the beginning of a grouping of sixteenth notes shouldn't distort itself into a single stroke four. Consistent rhythms are impressive.

Yeahheah! You are totally the drummer I want to be like some day - maybe, when I am grown up. (just like taller than 1,86m?ew) - not exactly the same, but speaking of style / groove / ability to play open handed/... You´re just like a mix of all of my favourite Drummers (Paice / Bonham / Pillips / Adler) and flavouring that with some fresh spirit. That´s totally awesome. So if you´re reading this, please allow me two questions: 1) How long have you been playing (dear english teacher, please tell me again, that english is way easier to learn than german) yet and are there still things, that are just like driving you crazy? 2) Are you a lefty - or if not, when did you start playing open handed? How long did it take to get it to an comfortable level? Because that´s what´s driving me totally crazy, even after almost 16 years of teacher-less practice - simple patterns with a bunch of ghost notes, okay, sometimes it works, but groves or more complex patterns/odd times... never ever. Hope to nail "aeromancy" sometime soon, but that´s exactly where some annoying inner-sitting-limbs-pain comes from. So I´d be super thankful for some good advice or tips on that topic - but after all, BIG UPS, your drumming-style is truly inspiring! Greetings from Germany, Daniel

Hallo Daniel!

Ben Minal Hey Ben! Thanks for the quick reply - it seems like you have been way more efficient in your 13 years of playing than me, but your advice / experience is kinda reinforcing. 4-5 years sounds like a long time, but watching you play, seems like it´s totally worth the work. If I´m good enough to show it, I´ll do a video-cover on Aeromancy, maybe even a one-man-band cover - it´s totally one of these songs you want to cover to bow low to the band and listening to it at least twice a day doesn´t seem enough ^^ Thanks again and all the best! Daniel PS: Translator or your own german-skills? Not really sure about it, because of the use of some perfectly polite german phrases... so hats off, if I am mistaken!

SMY2D If I remember from old Chappers/Dorje videos correctly, I believe Ben speaks German due to some familial connection i.e. relatives from there or something of the sort... Forgive me if I'm remembering wrong XD

Nice one , but I think you’re sticking is actually lRLK and lRLRLKK - that way your not playing consecutive left strokes coming out of the flam Cheers
