I really understood what you're trying to deliver here. At first I was confused why you keep jumping from one topic to another but then you relate it and it all makes sense! Thank youuuuuu. A lifesaver.

Jumping n talking more than getting to the point. Takes a long time to show CAT 2 enzyme like a suspense movie to keep show going - lol. Of course in the end concept is delivered. Not mentioned is that two membranes are two bilipid layers rather than a single lipid layer.

Shouldn't it be FAD -> FADH2 and NAD+ -> NADH + H+ ? Very nice video btw. ;)
@KingElrosTarMinyatur
@KingElrosTarMinyatur 10 лет назад
Yep. She forgot to add on the other proton to FADH. FADH2 has 2 protons and 2 electrons. NADH is a hydride, a proton with 2 electrons. In addition, a free proton is released in the reduction of NAD+.

Hi Jasmine. This video is absolutely amazing! I am just wondering if this process is the same in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes? Also how would fatty acids be broken down by anaerobic respiration? Thanks!

I dont understand this part: "So this beta oxidation simple refers to the carbon, that position of the carbon, that being oxidized. So remember the carbon thats being oxidized is this C double bound O bond...." This means she shows 2 different carbons, but saying is the same... what does this mean?? Or what is, what I dont understand?

I read some sources and it says Carnitine is bond directly to C (replacing S-CoA) not at O then C.. Can u help me out here? Is there any different? Thanks..

2 carbons at a time right? what about an uneven numbered fatty acid like fatty acyl CoA=11 Carbon atoms? after 4 rounds you get stuck with 3 Carbons.
