FAULTERING RELATIONSHIPS: Should I Stay or Should I Go?

As we collect complaints against a partner, the case for separating grows. We progressively disregard our deficits and fill the space between us and our partner with shadow. Aggrieved kindness is accrued to us and endless failure to the other. If we can constellate an observing attitude, we may discover that the tension between engulfment and abandonment has possessed the relationship, eviscerating all sense of safety. More commonly, couples are surprised by the intensity of changing stages. Moving from passion and bonding to parenting and empty nests requires relational awareness and a vision of the evolving psyche. It tasks us with thoughtful engagement and conscious suffering. When we shift from projecting our disowned qualities to courageous self-confrontation, we place the point of transformation within us. This liberates the partner from carrying our own inner work and frees the relationship to finally rest in mutual support. In our darker moments, this may seem impossible, but the resilience of love can surprise us.
HERE'S THE DREAM WE ANALYZE:
"I feel chunks missing from my molars on the bottom left and spit it out into my hand; it’s three pieces of different teeth plus one full tooth. I look in the mirror, and there is no tooth missing, but the broken pieces match up. My mouth is like Gollum’s, and my teeth in front are shifted right and are thin and pointed like vampire teeth."

I really appreciate the content of this conversation, thank you for this! I am just wondering why there is a continuous reference to “marriage” (except 2-3 times where “relationship” was mentioned). Marriage is not the only way to be in a relationship.. :-)

F60.81 go no contact. But they are dancing around the issue of hidden narcissism. By the way narcissism is not a diagnosis f60.81 is a dx. Are the dismissive of your needs and wants.
