Always liked makita for angle drills, and this DDA460 36 volt drill is no exception.
Fantastic machine and typical makita build quality.
The only part not worth replacing in this machine is the controller.
Every other component is available to buy and is worth replacing if needed. Down to the startor, rotary and even switches.
It's worth pointing out that this angle drill is the same machine and the makita ground auger. Simply without the extra large handles and auger.
This one is only a simple fault. The machine won't run at all, and not even an LED is coming on. The problem is simply the power button on top.
This bitter powers up the controler all allows the machine to run.
It failed most likely due to water damage, as there is also rust on the screws and bolts on the outside.
water must have gotten into the micro switch and shorted it of corroded the inside.
A quick swop out, and it's up and running again.
The only downside to this repair was the time it took to get the part. 2 months is far too long to be waiting on spare parts, and makita really dropped the ball on this one.
Normaly makita is very fast fir suppling spare parts.
