@@THGMR-ox7sd compared to, say, cinderace (whomst I was mostly talking about), no not really, its much less human than it could be. It has exaggerated hips a shorter torso, longer legs etc. Cinderace my Beloathed just looks like a guy with a bug head, Meowscarada at least has a unique silhouette with its arms getting bigger towards the wrists, digitigrade legs, and essentially non existant neck. Cinderace is just a guy in baggy shorts with tiny hands and a huge head. Like I cannot be clear enough I was vagueing cinderace (And Sneasler to a lesser extant) because I hate it so much becuase it's just so literally a guy with a big head (and an awful color palette that just loses all the charm of Scorbunny. God I hate cinderace so much)

Probably the best looking final evo for a starter the last few gens imho. If she wasnt on all fours in her first stage I think people wouldve loved her more. They just got tok stuck up on the whole thing

Because it's a popular 'meme' to rag on furries right now. That's literally the only reason, there was never this kind of widespread mockery of this with previous pokemon generations. Well, for most of them, there's still the group who complain about it because they think it's "sexualizing" pokemon and those have been around pretty much all along, but as far as I'm concerned that's entirely on them, not the designers' fault that those people can't see a humanoid without their mind going in the gutter.

IMO it's the easiest thing to criticize Starter Pokemon designs for. It was Fire/Fighting starters for a while, but when Incineroar came out and bucked the trend by using a design that could easily pass for that typing, but cleverly used it's wrestling heel inspiration design to make it part Dark instead, they moved onto the next easiest criticism: "Furry bait".

BC nowadays people associate any anthropomorphic design with the furry fetish. Personally I think Meowscarada just looks badass
