An honest and transparent review of what makes it better than others. Just felt you had not used it before and it was now your favourite merely as its the videos sponsor.

I would put the sponges in first. All of them. (There will be beneficial bacteria on them eventually, only aerobic ones that is.) And the biological media stays cleaner. I have biological media in my topbaskets. And i cutted a blue sponge in half to make room for filterfloss. But the rest of the setup looks amazing. Great job !

Not necessary, since the pre filter already takes out all the gunk. You can put filter media in all the trays except the top one

@@darthsidious9814 i have 3 Biomasters the 350, the 600 and the 850. In reality it does not clean all of it. It cleans most of it. And the smallest particals still make it into the cannister, its exactly those smallest particals that clog the little channels in the biomedia where anaerobic bacteria live. So even with the prefilter the order of the foams matter.

@@dennisvanopstal7360 I use the biomaster 250 but I modified my pre filter, try to squeeze filter wool around the sponges and makes the holes in the tube bigger. How is the biomaster 850? Is it noisy?

@@darthsidious9814 it was, but i contacted Oase and received a new pumphead. It still purged air, but i fixed that by replacing the pipeset by Chihiros stainless steel ones. And i applied clamps by superfish on all hose connections. Since than it runs perfect. I guess it leaked air somewhere along the connections.

Hallo Jurijs Ich habe Biomaster 600 und 250. Nach Reinigung Filter, Neustart 250 kein Problem, aber beim 600 ist es sehr mühsam. Pumpen, pumpen .... gibt es da einen Trick. Herzlichen Dank, Daniel

Einfach am outflow saugen, dann läuft dieser voll mit Wasser (Schläuche sollte leer sein) und darauf achten dass die Schläuche gerade verbaut sind und nicht in Schlaufen

Last as it’s final step of purification, to filter out the smaller floating particles. Filtration media past prefilter should go from course to fine, this way the water can flow through with least amount of resistance and cleaning intervals can be extended. If you do the opposite way, the filter floss will get dirty very quick and block the flow faster, resulting in shorter cleaning intervals

hey bro, always wondered, why the filter wool on top of media instead of below it right after the finer sponge?

To extend lifespan between big filter maintenance. Filter wool will block very quickly if added at the beginning, as final step, it only has to filter out what’s hasn’t been filtered out by the course bio media and sponges

@@JurijsJutjajevs i seee what you mean. although wouldn't the pore size be way bigger on the course bio media(vs the sponges) thus putting the filter floss just before the biomedia and on top of the medium+fine sponges would have a close to similar degradation rate on the floss while keeping the biomedia cleaner too?

For viewing in standing height 100cm is approximately a good height

Overall noise and flow are appropriate for my use. I tend to overfilter most of my scapes anyway.

Why not use a sump instead of two canisterfilters on a tank this big? 🤔 Would be way more efficient

It depends what kind of efficiency you’re looking for. I prefer canister filters, if you prefer sumps, it’s your choice

Both my biomaster 850 spit air out, I hate them. Oase doesn't seem to know how to fix it either.

I noticed this kind of issues. Some of my filters have it too, others don’t. Oase is aware of the issue and is working towards fixing it.

@@paulus1412 I'm not sure when it showed up but when I started 2 years ago Eheim didn't have the thermal option in the US but it looks like Amazon has them now so I think my next tank I'm going that route. Which model would you recommend for a 40 gallon tank?

I would encourage you to visit “Pondguru” on RU-vid. You can see how best to set up a cannister filter to maximize filtration. The way you are doing it in the video is not optimial. Just a suggestion. 🙏🏽

@@JurijsJutjajevs This is why I suggested visiting this youtuber, pondguru. The way he sets up canister filters is optimal. He is an expert out of the UK.All of my canister filters follow his methodology.
