This video got me nostalgic for my teenager times when I listened to some of theese albums for the first time. Great, great video wish it never ended! 🤟
I should have watched this one before I mentioned Seasons in the Abyss in your last video, lol. Glad to see your appreciation for Load and Youthanasia. Both are totally underrated. I love Korn, And I still listen to Nu Metal. I don’t care if anyone else likes or not. You should definitely do a video on those!
Haha, no problem. I just for to put it in the stack for my last video. There was several that asked. Load and Youthanisia are such great albums. I definitely will make a NUmetal video soon. I honestly like the earlier stuff that was coming out from 94 to about 99. Alot of great stuff. Then after 99 it seem to just repeat it self like other generes do.
That Forbidden is such a great album. I guess it cost a pretty penny now days. Well this copy of it. Not sure if they have reissued it are not. But it definitely needs it. Killer album.
Old School Thrash 🤘🤘🖤🖤🖤
Aw man I've had so many killer ideas for videos and then realised I didn't have enough to show from my collection 😂. Fckin Slaaaayeeeerrr! Ha finally😉. South of Heaven was when they clicked for me. I still think Death and Roll is one of the more stupid names in metal sub-genres. Another great list!
Hahaha. Death n' Roll never actually made any sense to me for a name of a sub-genere as well. And honestly Death metal is supposed to be more about.. well, Death and Gore. Melodic Death Metal never really made sense to me either for a name as well but I just Death n' Rolled with it 😂😂😂. Thank you for watching. So many albums that just needed more love from guys like me that prominently listen to extreme metal.. I guess you can say I'm a anti-elitist? Another name that makes no sense haha
Great video Steve. So.e very underrated albums shown, mate. That Paradise Lost album you had on in the background is an absolute beast of a record. Cheers 🍻 🤘
Thank you John, I adore that album. My friend Ritchie played "Christendom" from that album in the car back then and I immediately bought that very CD that night at Camelot.
My favorite from Stomp 442 is Nothing. Idk if your version of Stomp has Cowboy Song, but it’s a great cover. I saw Slayer in 2010 play Seasons in its entirety and it was awesome. They also played Aggressive Perfector.
Aggressive Perfector is killer track. That would be sick to see live. I'm not sure if I seen them play that one live. My copy doesn't have that song on Stomp 442. I'll look it up, I'm not sure I have heard it.
Load and Reload combined would make a perfect 60 minute album! I like the "Danzig approach of some of the songs. "Bleeding Me" is one of my top 10 songs by the band. I like Sabbath and Stoner stuff, so why not take something like "I hear Black" from my fave Thrash band? Very cool album! I saw Testament on that tour with The Almighty, Helloween, Slayer, W.A.S.P., Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden in Mannheim 1992. What a billing that was! Forbidden supported Gorefest in Germany on that tour for some reason. Opening band was Warpath, if you like early Carnivore, do check out their "Against Everyone" record! Lustig, "Icon" läuft im Hintergrund und Du redest über "Chaos A.D.", In Deutschland war 1993 Paradise Lost support von Sepultura.
I am the priest that feeds the beast I am the blood, I am release Come make me pure, bleed me a cure I'm caught, I'm caught, I'm caught under Caught under wheel's roll I take that leech, I'm bleeding me Can't stop to save my soul I take the leash that's leading me I'm bleeding me...love those lyrics. And this is my favorite part in that tune. Such gold! Yes! That billing is beast! I would have been beside myself if I was there. hahaha. Ja, 1993 ist für mich ein großartiges Jahr für Metal-Musik. Ich mag die 1980er Jahre immer noch lieber, aber diese Alben halten ihr Gewicht. I will go check out Warpath.. dig that name as well.
Several of these have never been in my collection, the Megadeth albums, Load, the Anthrax albums. Heard them, but not for me. I liked the black album when it came, but it did not take long before I got a bit of hate for it. Still can't listen to it. Did not like the production on Season in the Abyss, but when I heard the songs live on Decade of Aggression, then I got into the album. I Hear Black is an album I need to give a spin, long time since I visited that one. Swansong is a good album, but not one I play often, same goes for Wolverine Blues. Cool video. Cheers.
Thanks Roger. I am more into the old school albums of these bands but honestly it is nice still have the 90s stuff in my collection. To be honest with you I probably only listen to a few these once a year. Some more than others. That Black Album I show here I only spun once. I still have my old cassette of it and I hate fooling around with the double EP to be honest. Seasons in the Abyss is a disappointment when I first heard it. It was not until I tied a good drunk on until I actually liked it. Now days I love it. It has aged well and it's on constant rotation.
I find seasons in the abyss substantially more palatable compared to south of heaven. Good record as far as I’m concerned! I’ll eventually come around to wolverine blues. One day. The ritual is a tun of fun man! A softer record for them, but still a killer one!
Wolverine Blues as great on most days but every once in a while i'll try to listen to it become bored after a few tracks. Seasons is a great album and my 2nd favorite 90's Slayer album. South of Heaven is just a little bit darker and more memorable to me anyways.
Good stuff Steve~! Good to see Megadeth's Countdown to Extinction and Slayer's Season's in the Abyss. Anthrax's Sound of White Noise is an overlooked album. Forbidden's Distortion is another overlooked album. Also, good to see Carcass, Pantera, Entombed, and Overkill.
I don't mind Chaos A.D but I don't really think of listening to it anymore. Few on here I haven't heard before and a couple I don't intend to 😅 I got a bit of amnesia around the 12:00 minute mark 😂 and I think my notifications are overloaded because this video isn't on there as I only saw it when I looked on your homepage for your music upload 🤷♂️🤘🏻🤘🏻
Haha, Yea, uploading a better version of that soon, it cut off about 2 minutes in with no sound. It's not that good anyways, old rehearsal tape from way back.
I saw Testament on The Ritual tour. Alex had left the band and they barely played anything from the album, focusing on older material. I like The Ritual but that was a nice surprise. I really like Stomp 442 as well, nice to see someone not shit on it. 😃
Stomp 442 is a great album. I think when people have a certain expectation and it doesn't get fulfilled they just shit on it. I'm guilty of that too. But that album honestly stomps. The Ritual is killer. Alex left and joined Savatage during that time I remember and did the Handful of Rain record. James Murphy joined Testament and recorded Low... which is a total banger. And I thought Demonic is a beast as well.
Again a super video. Will play some of the albums you showed tomorrow, i already took them out of my collection like the SLAYER ones. Great PARADISE LOST. My fave is SHADES OF GOD.
I love that Shades of God album, it is the 2nd Paradise Lost album I bought. I was just blasting Divine Intervention! May listen to Musica in Diablos next. Fantastic albums.
@@stevesekora Nice, i also like DIVINE.. a lot and never understood the hate agains DIABLOS IN MUSICA, i also really like it. I am playing the two SLAYER´S you showed now at work, made my day. Take careeee.
@@holspa Thank you, I was blasting those earlier. Right now I'm stuck listening to Anthrax albums haha. the first 4. State of Euphoria is sounding better than it ever has to me. Have a great day.
Back in '95 I went to Megadeth's tour with Flotsam and Korn at the Capital theater in New York. Fear Factory was also on that tour. I remember Jonathan from Korn hitting the stage playing the bagpipes. Thanks for a great video and the memory . .
That was a great show, Jonathan did the same show and wearing a kilt. Us Missouri boys didn't know what a damn kilt was at the time. But..when that guitar, bass and drum started we forgot about the kilt and loved that sound the made. Great show indeed!
I wondered what this video was from the thumbnail 😂 I don't really care for any of them shown in that thumbnail. Wolverine Blues is great. I'm going through my collection and selling lots off because I shouldn't have bought them in the first place. The Ritual, and every Overkill apart from Decay were the first to go actually. #fuckthatcompletistshit 😂
Icon is one of my favorite albums of all time! I saw Paradise Lost open for Kreator and Morbid Angel in 1993. PL actually got booed the whole time they played, crazy! Swansong is good stuff. I Hear Black is underrated af. All great stuff, actually. PS. You like Gorefest - Soul Survivor? That's my all time favorite Death n' Roll album, so good.🤘
I honestly do not believe I have listened to that Gorefest album. I used to have Mindloss and Fault but sold them for some stupid reason. Now on to Paradise Lost, I remember my friends bitching and moaning about that album when I played it in my car back.. never understood why. Great record.
Yup, that was Dimebag making a guest appearance on Stomp 442. Wow... you just basically presented my teen years CD stack right there, so cool you've been able to hold onto those OG copies for so long, some of those I had to rebuy later on. Cool way to bring up the big 4 bands Steve, although you brought up Forbidden too, another amazing band.
Great video Steve! There were great albums released in the 90's, even though the albums are different they're still pretty cool. Great to see Seasons in the abyss, Countdown to extinction, Far beyond driven, Load, The ritual, Chaos AD, and Youthanasia!! I love Youthanasia, I did a video defending it a while ago becasue I love it so much! I've gotta check out Swansong, Sound of white noise, I hear black and Stomp 442. And I've gotta say, I actually enjoyed hearing Paradise Lost in the background! The dude sounds like Hetfield, I thought it was actually pretty good! Great video man! 😊🤘
@@stevesekora You're welcome mate! Ahh ok man, normally I'm not a fan of gothic Doom music, but I thought Icon sounded pretty good in the background! He really did sound so much like James, I might have to check a bit more out you know! It might convert me! 😃😃🤘🏻🤘🏻
