Always happy to see your feeds come up. Your take on fragrances is so well considered and your descriptions are easy to follow and understand. I feel confident buying from your descriptions. Thank you for your time and effort.
Fun to see your videos again! I get overwhelmed by new releases. Enjoy hearing about them but also feel out of the loop. Can’t keep up, can’t afford! So I just sniff my multitude of samples for newness.
Hermes Cythere is soooo alluring to me...didn't think it would be, but they way it blooms is....terrific..the pistachio, the dryness that I didn't think was my thing, but here it's...a big YES. It's on my to buy list! Ach the new Serge Lutens Écrin de Fumée sounds amazing...Look forward to hearing what Serge Lutens you bought in Paris!
I rarely purchase anything that's just out...I prefer to wait until it's discounted. 🤣 One new fragrance I did buy that I'm enjoying is Penhaligon's Eau The Audacity. Loved the video, Sam!
Hey Sam, thanks for all the recommendations, I've been struggling to keep up with this year's releases so great to have a video like this from you. I know I can always trust you to find the more interesting fragrances, I'll have to go for some store sniffs and see what I can get my nose on 🙏🏻😊
Omg yayy! As a longtime Lush fragrance fan, I’m so happy to hear someone shout out And Fragrances. Coming from the US, I can’t purchase anything other than the solids, but I would ❤ to see a video overview of the whole brand. (I blind bought the solids of Bare and Far last year.)
Thank you for introducing andfragrance. Looks super promising. Agreed with Nasimba - its some of my favourite leathers! Despite the synthetic materials, I find Crivellis to be well balanced and natural smelling.
Your love for Vetiver and smelling like a damp forest 😅, made me follow. I'm a Gourmand and Woody lover! 😊 I'll have my dessert in a damp forest any day 😂
I don't recall trying anything specific to 2023... But I am headed to try both the Amouage and Electimus you mentioned in this video... I love vanilla (Vanille Havane by Antoine Lie / Les Indemodables is sooo nice) so I'm going to try those...!
Love your videos! Appreciate your honesty. Agree with you about Byredo and I am Swedish and wish I liked it more. I would prefer your talking without background music, I find it stressful and that it is a distraction.
I need to look into And Fragrances. Wasn’t aware of this brand, but I like the sound of their ethos. Encre Indigo has been added to my try list- I’m partial to a mysterious/abstract fragrance and juniper is one of my favourite dry/cold notes.
Thank you, yes I love their ethos too... they are very naturalistic though, so try them if that's your thing. Juniper is marvelous isn't it - I think I've liked every fragrance I've tried with the note 🌹Xo Sam
@@MyWorldofFragrance juniper, papyrus and coniferous scents, with a dash of spice and smoke. Perhaps fragrant things you’d find in a souk. Perhaps I’m partial to gin. It’s my jam❤️ x
Great video...as usual. AMOUAGE is for me number 1....i love their fragrances....last 2 I got were SILVER OUD and ROYAL TABACCO....they are just amazing...KING BLUE is on the radar...100%...now a house that i've been loving aswel is WIDIAN....I would love your thoughts on WIDIAN BANIYAS.....i sprayed it on a test strip a few days ago ..and left it in my room . The smell keeps on drawing me towards it , I keep smelling it ....( so obviously I love it ) if you could give some input into this fragrance , I would really appreciate it . The performance , the longevity... I also picked up WIDIAN LIMITED 71 EXRAIT ( 2022 ) ....just WOW....ITS BRILLIANT. ..only 900 bottles made world wide . Kind regards Harry
Couldn't wait ....so I got it. But I would be grateful if you could give me your thoughts on the ones i got WIDIAN LONDON WIDIAN LIWA WIDIAN BANIYAS amd LIMITED 71 ( 2022 ) . BTW....I loved your video on XERJOFF FARS and ALEXANDRIA II ( old video ... but still good )
Of course! Love your posts! When you try the FM, I have a feeling you’ll love it; masterful use of iris. With that said, my fav iris is still Aedes de Venustas’ Iris Nazarena.
Hi Sam. Thanks for this list of fragrances I haven't heard much about this year. I tried Un Jardin à Cythère and was a little surprised by the dryness. I liked it, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for (during a very hot humid summer). I should test it again... Worst I've smelt in the new release I've tried this year was JPG's Divine. That smelt like a hot mess on me.
Great finds to look out for! As for the maison crivelli neroli-Any resemblance to Francesca Bianchi Libertine Neroli? Not very daring, but I think I am still stuck with Sugar Leather as my favorite this year.
Nope, no resemblance. Libertine Neroli actually smells like neroli (refreshing, sharper)... Neroli Nasimba is more ripe orange blossom intertwined with the leather. Sugar Leather sounds nice 🌹Xo Sam
I was torn by Cythere, when I first tried it I was a little disappointed because it felt gourmand leaning to me (why Hermes, why?!) but then I tried it on skin and a few hours later I was quite enamoured with it. Maybe one day I’ll pick it up. Great to see you Sam! ps I also love a damp forest vibe! 💚
Thanks for your comment, Cherie! Gourmand, that's funny, I didn't get that vibe. But weather conditions could change how it wears. Give it another try. It's one of my top 3 from the collection I think 🌹Xo Sam
Hey you, the Serge Lutens 1. (Deleted) 2. What fragrance is it that you already have? 3. If you only had 3mls left of 2., would you replace it with the Serge Lutens 23 release? Thanks!
Hi! Oh no, is it not in the list? Hm will have to watch it back. I have quite a few warm, burning resins. Tango by Masque Milano is one of them. Yes, I would replace what I have with the Lutens once I finish, but silly me also has a full backup, so it would take a while 🌹Xo Sam
LOL @ Quiet Luxury I have Imaginary Authors Blend No. 83 on the way. I've also got samples of their Bull's Blood, Gallagher's Purple Powder, and Pearlescent's Tonkapeach on the way. Until now, 4160Tuesday's Hush Hush has been my favorite and most worn new perfume of 2023. Speaking of 4160Tuesdays, have you tried Sleep Knot?
A cold shadow! Cool take on the Lalique Sam. Yet to try that one myself. 🖤💙 Habit Rouge Prive and Millesime Iris from the big G probably my favs from the year. Just sampled Rogue's Targhee Forest too and me like. But I could've sworn that Chanel were supposed to release a brand new men's line at the end of this year. 🤔 Haven't heard a peep. Perhaps in December for optimal holiday effect? Cutting it close if that was the goal...
@@MyWorldofFragrance I may have to revise my thoughts on the best of 2023. I just picked up Francesca Bianchi's Byzantine Amber and am in love. It's a toss-up!
It's so crazy but all of the ånd fragrances smell good to me (even ones I wouldn't choose to wear) and they also smell just like the notes would suggest, but Cåke doesn't smell at all gourmand to me - I don't know what it is that's tricking my nose as other people are obviously smelling exactly what's described, but I don't get cocoa, cake or caramel. I have two samples now and I'm so sad I don't smell what you do! I only normally have this issue with aroma molecules (Akro Bake for instance just smells like Lemsip to me!) and not more natural compounds. Oh well.... Får, Frånk and Sånd are all fabulous and I might fall for Måd too, but yeah.... I can't get along with Cåke 😢
Can you recommend me a fragrance that is really animalic some of the fragrance I really enjoy are Orto parisi cuoium, Roja pdv 47, Naomi goodsir corpus equus and a few others but I’m trying to find one that might be even more animalic which would you recommend
Have you tried Ma Bête by Eris Parfums? It's literally called My Beast. :) If you want animalic as in literal, there's one from Prin called Aran with a goat hair accord. Lol.
I know this is a gonna be a weird question, so if you do see it, don’t think it’s too strange. My girl is Moroccan, I want to buy her a fragrance that reminds her of Morocco… is there anything that you could recommend in that lane?
No, that's a perfect question! L'Air du Desert Marocain by Tauer, I have a review of it. Or Ambre Sultan by Serge Lutens. These are woody, spicy scents that smelle like the souqs. Le Maroc Pour Elle by Tauer is a very deep jasmine if she is more into florals. 🌹Xo Sam
@@MyWorldofFragrance thank you so much for the suggestions! She wears YSL libre Le Parfum a lot (I believe it’s her signature, smells really good on her) so is there one of those that you recommended that would lean more towards something for someone that enjoys librè?
I don’t think I purchased any new releases. I have been tracking down holy grails though. Marfa by memo just arrived and it is definitely a sister of silver Iris by Atelier Cologne and I tracked down a 30 year old Dior poison toilette in a giant tester bottle in immaculate condition.
