some people think that its because they dont want to be liable that the government said "no thats legal the government said it was okay for me to do" and the case be thrown out if it ever went to court. so they reserve the right to arrest you later when they decide its illegal. they will never tell you "no you cant do this"

exploding bullets are actually fairly normal and a thing since the 1930s as ammunition develkoped for aircraft to spot if you hit the enemy, these then where further used by german and soviet snipers and also as "ranging ammunition" for recoiless guns and tanks, to figure out the range to a target.

"Because you're looking for someone difficult and that's the first line in my file in JPAS?" "Hydrogen sulfide is illegal now? So, a critically important antioxidant and cellular signaling molecule that's ubiquitous in nature is illegal? How about nitric oxide, is that illegal too?" Answer yes or probably, "Well, we'll not need to worry about the hydrogen sulfide idiocy, as you'll be up to your eyeballs in a very, very, very one way civil war, as you've outlawed Viagra's method of operation, as well as the ability for your heart to beat properly and for every male to get wood." All true, well, maybe not with the Joint Personnel Adjudication System, it holds basic crap like security clearance and gonadal contents or something. The rest is entirely true and only scratches the surface. Long and short, it'd end with "Get a court order, then we'll talk, now go off and kick a rock before I make my own federal call and end your careers". They'd have no real recourse, as dragging me off then creates that very problem for them with a false arrest and civil rights violations. The worst that they could do is relay to the Australians that I'm not cooperating and I get a call from them and I give a basic chemistry class to the idiot, who will likely share the misery to the ones griping in the first place. Off of the top of my head, I can think of a half dozen ways hydrogen sulfide can be made and how to prevent it or at least mitigate it and that's all high school chemistry level stuff. I've been outgassing hydrogen sulfide all day long, had a few hard boiled eggs after not having eggs for a while. That'd better even out soon, as I want to enjoy that egg and potato salad I made the other day! Oh, who am I fooling? I'll just find another reason to fart. I am after all, tagged REF. As that was the closest area with a place to get water and sit down to eat, that's where my co-worker and I went to have lunch. Ever H2S unit I've ever been near, has leaked horribly and this one was no different. As we were eating, I asked my co-worker if he smelled anything and he said no, so we hauled ass out of there. We had got to the point where we couldn't smell it anymore and you don't have long after that before you pass out and eventually die. A couple of years later I saw in the news that two people died at that same plant and H2S unit. They started requiring anyone in the plant to wear gas meters. H2S is no joke. It'll end you quick.

H2S is the reason I have permanent brain damage. I worked in the oilfield as safety and maintenance, I cleaned and repaired pilot valves and inspected relays for pumpjacks, and one location was built compact because the person who owned the land at the time didn't want us to take up too much space, so things were built in a way that made it dangerous. Right next to one of the pilot valves was a vent point that released gas right into my face, and the exposure lead to cognitive and motor skill degradation and memory problems. I'm fine for the most part, though I tend to forget things and fail to properly grab things or use my hands normally sometimes. Please honor me with an answer, I have a question, and this might be unusual. As a welder, starting with steel, I realized that sun screen alone isnt enough to negate sun damage in a production shop with literally dozens of welders firing off at any time. I got used to wearing layered clothes, covering literally exposed piece of skin. I would wear a full balaclava over my burn proof welding cap, wear UV and safety rated sunglasses (Inside) even when I wasnt welding, but when I had to weld or plasma cut, my welding visor would always be down before the start, I would still get burns around the opening for the balaclava where my sunglasses didnt cover. I used spf70 sunscreen with aluminum in it.....supposed to be superior. It just so happens that the compression on my facial skin, along with my skin type, oil production, the nature of smoke and how it likes to coat you, and spending more than 12hrs a day like that, along with the chemicals in the sunscreen, caused breakouts....and so sulfur ointments were something I tried....and it seemed to work when welding steel. After a few years though, using sulfur still, I started welding aluminum. My skin started breaking out in horrendous ways. Is this related to those two things combined together, like you mention in your videos? I am sorry, your not a dermatologist, lets clear that up, so using your accumulated knowledge of those two elements otherwise, do you think its a possibility? And really, some people will read this long comment and say "TLDR" but I am hoping to have one person read this that can relate to what I am talking about and see if I am right. It would make sense that if the combo is indeed toxic, there is some things that I should be conscience of as a welder.

This is one of the major reasons I hate shitty podcasts. Podcasts can be good if they are given the same attention normal videos are given. But just like let's plays it's an extremely easy way to make long content. But that's the problem, content creators treat them like they don't need to do research, edit, or stick to the topic. These kinds of podcasts feel like you are part of the video chat but are being completely ignored.

Yeah, hydrogen sulfide is a really big deal. I had to go around a Wastewater facility with a hydrogen sulfide detector and when I detected some I had to report it to prevent levels from getting high enough to cause serious problems. It was a major part of a drinking water and wastewater course I took as well. That said, I don't really understand what the legal basis the FBI would have for making you take the video down. I'm not aware of any laws that say you can't show someone how it's produced, because on the contrary I had to watch videos on how it's produced so that I could learn how to avoid the situations that would lead to my death. Asking seems reasonable, but telling doesn't.

There is such a thing as Restricted information. Restricted information is something which doesn't really present a threat if it leaks but you probably don't want it to be easily found. For example, the recipes for chemical explosives is restricted, but any government doc that contains your taxpayer info is also considered Restricted. You usually don't need a clearance or anything to handle restricted information, you can only really get in trouble if you give it people who don't have a reason to have it. So, teaching employees that work in an industry that involves hydrogen sulfide is fine, but posting a public video on RU-vid about it isn't (since you can't verify why your users are watching it).

I doubt they had a legal basis and I doubt they cared. Law enforcement is like anyone else, lazy to a fault. If they think they can accomplish something through basic intimidation without having to do the work, they will. Plenty of social media posts, videos, etc have been taken down in response to an unhappy person just by a suit standing threatening before someone. Same for search and seizure; it's difficult and time consuming to get a search warrant for a specific thing at a specific place and a specific time, but if they throw a little intimidation your way and ask for compliance so they'll to easy on you, they can get your ok to search wherever and take whatever they want.

I was working at a different part of the refinery, and of course there are giant pipes above and below ground.I was doing some ironwork/ electrical stick welding at a H2S recovery point, welding, surrounded by a few firewatch men with waterhoses running. Why? we were surrounded by huge mounds of white powdery stuff. huge amounts. What was it ?............. Elemental sulfur, the same stuff matches are made of.. Now, when doing overhead stick welding it is normal to be constantly showered with molten steel and slag, at 2200 degrees, and of course you wear leathers covering your arms, shoulders, welder gauntlets, welding hood. and most of your body is covered by heavy cotton bib overalls, canvas and cotton, with leather boots. welding overhead , in a shower of molten steel I heard a fireman scream " FIRE", so I stop and raised my hood. Surprise. The front bib of my overalls were on fire, , I just didnt feel it yet. Solution ???? I spit on it, beat on it with my gloved hands , for a minute or so, put the fire out and didnt even stop, just went back to welding in a shower of molten steel. The firemen were always very carefull to keep the mounds of sulfur well watered. and that was excellent.. I am retired now.... Love your show.............

Some years back there were some kids in Japan (several instances) who were committing group suicides with hydrogen sulfide. Later some kids in the SF Bay Area picked up the idea and used it (more than one case). Then one of the basic ingredients (which I long used for a dormant spray on fruit trees) was taken off the shelves; now sales and purchases require special licenses, just like some other dangerous agricultural chemicals. As for the hydrogen sulfide in petroleum, that is common; in a county south of here that produces a lot of oil, you can see mountains of sulphur removed from it. The chemical used to odorize gas nowadays is methyl mercaptan; when I was young (a long time ago) another very stinky gas was widely used, but about 10% of people (including me) were genetically incapable of smelling it.

There has to be some way of knowing whether what you want to do is illegal, shot of putting yourself at risk of going to prison. By the time you are a defendent in court, a LOT of people presume that if you weren't guilty of something you wouldn't be on trial. Old video I know. It’s naturally occurring in oil fields due to Sulphate Reducing Bacteria. SRBs. A good sweet field can be turned sour with cross contamination from other fields through the use of salt water disposals or mixing of emulsions. Biocides are used in any fresh waters that may be used in a reservoir for hydraulic fracturing. But in general most water used in the oilfield, at least where I am from, is produced water (salt water from the oil reservoirs). Another product used can be Acrolein. H2S is extremely dangerous and extremely flammable. It can kill you in many ways and many people are killed trying to rescue others that have went down. It is heavier than air and May displace all the breathable air in low lying areas. It can be a problem when a well kicks and hits a flammable source and cause a blowout. It also is an agent of corrosion. The daily working limit is 10ppm where I am from but some fields may have 4% or 10% which is 4000 or 10000ppm. The use of SCBAs are required. I’m a former Technical Services Representative and Field Operator for production operations. A TSR from another company broke a sampling valve off of a manifold in a field building. He went to his vehicle to get a wrench and when he opened the door to go back into the building he fell dead from the rapid accumulation from the leak. Nasty stuff.

They do not put H2S in natural gas as there is far too much water vapor in natural gas pipelines (reacts with water to form sulfuric acid). The odorant is usually methanethiol.
@lironmtnranch4765
@lironmtnranch4765 2 года назад
Interesting, in the 80s a hot sulfur truck apparently pulled over to deal with a leak, and left a few pounds of solidified sulfur on the ground, which my friend discovered and I rode my bike several miles to stuff my newspaper bags with some. We made "stink bombs" of aluminum sulfate which would react with water to make hydrogen sulfide, in quantities sufficient to stink but not be dangerous. We made pipe "cups" that we filled with sulfur, then used an arc welder and aluminum rod. Crude but effective, and weeks later one of these was checked and found to still slowly produce bubbles of H2S when supplied with more water. It was amazing how far downwind we could still smell what was probably diluted to parts per billion. ETA: Gas is odorized with ethyl mercaptan, not H2S. This is a chemical cousin to butyl mercaptan AKA skunk odor.
