It's funny to see these 4 engineering and science entertainers talk about just dumb things. Safety examples are just the nice extras.

My only experience with food poisoning was very ironic. When I was a young practicing Catholic, I was on a church trip and had completely forgotten that it was Good Friday (the first day of abstaining from meat) and I ordered a 4 pc nugget from McNasty’s. The irony was it felt as if I was smited by the lord directly.

Explosions & Fire did a whole video on the different tastes of chloride salts of the Alkali metals (Li, K, Na, Rb & Cs) as well as Ca, Sr & Ammonium. I'd be cool to also test all relatively non-toxic salts of Bicarbonate, Sulfate, Phosphate, etc. The most surprising thing was that LiCl was the only one that wasn't gross. No one liked KCl despite it being used as a salt substitute.

It's actually quite possible to have a leaky gut that allows proteins through which react with things badly inside.

I had appendicitis bothering me for over a week my parents were sure it was the flu. I was throwing up and in agonizing pain. I was in so much pain I hadn't slept in two days and they finally took me to the hospital. The hospital said my appendix which is supposed to be the size of the tip of your pinky was stretched all the way across my stomach and could explode at any second. They immediately took me in for emergency surgery. I actually passed out while they were taking x-rays. The only time I've ever passed out in my entire life.

Yeah I had appendicitis when i was 12. It happened literally over night. In the morning It hurt so much I couldn't even walk. Went to the ER. has an emergency surgery, and apparently the appendix ruptured during surgery. If It happened before surgery, I wouldn't be alive today. So because of the rupture, they couldn't close the incision all the way in case it got infected. So it had to heal by itself (obviously they sutured the stomach wals, just not the skin above). Had to change bandages for 3 months everyday and clean the wound until it healed fully. Also, I live in the Netherlands, so public healthcare paid for it all.

That piñata sounds like a job for stuff made here.

This is the first time I'll be watching the second episode of safety third. Four

Episode 1 had me like "wow I like hearing these guys talk about random stuff", episode 2 has me "please keep throwing science-tangent conversations at my face daddies 😩"

I worked at a Nissin Ramen plant in Lancaster PA as electrical maintenance for a while and lemme tell you. The Nissin ramen was definitely the cause of Niles sickness. That factory was soooo nasty. I opened a few electrical panels and found it full of old noodles and bugs🤢

7:20 the "right" way to eat a pack of Shinramyun: dunk in a handful of soybean sprouts together when you drop the noodle in the boiling water, and then insist your end-of-the-month ramen diet is *healthy* because it had vegetables in it and you ate it with kimchi. It's a logical solution which is just as water-tight as your bowel next day.
