ok that's the scene,...is you in a long declive in a highway and the throttle body is closed and you are on the 4th or 5th gear and your RPM gauge showing 4k or 5k revs... at this time no fuel is sending to the injectors... WHERE ARE THE "extra" LUBRICATION in that moment if you just removed your OMP???? Congratulations! You just spin your engine "dry" several times! AGAIN... use both, dont delete your OMP....
For posterity's sake: BAC is Bypass Air Control valve, it's an ECU controlled system designed to 'help' with the idle of the engine(The blue or possibly green topped cylinder on the drivers side of the dynamic chamber assembly/throttle body with the coolant line coming in from the thermowax on the back of the throttle body/dynamic chamber assembly). ACV stands for Air Control Valve, passenger side of engine bay hanging off the lower intake manifold(LIM) right behind the air pump. There is a two to three inch hose coming off the back of the air pump that goes right into it, and it is a serious pain in the ass to take that hose off to check the anti-afterburn. Sub Zero is a character from a Sega video game. He will periodically appear and challenge you Mortal Kombat. It is best to just ignore him as he is usually not a problem and disabled on most working Rx7's you will encounter. If he is causing you issues simply find the reservoir at the rear most passenger side of the engine bay, trace the hose to the brass line going into the top of the LIM, remove the hose and cap it with a vacuum cap.
Yo whatup guys , this videos Super Helpfull for me...im disabled and have had my 88 10th anniversary RX-7, 24 YEARS and im trying to get er all rebuilt it runs pretty good, but it's my 1st time rebuilding ,well replacing the stock ,with a 13B Turbo PORTED EXHAUST ,BRIDGEPORTED AND A STANDALONE ADAPTRONIX ECU...IF YALL HAVE ANY PARTS THAT COULD POSSIBLY HELP ME WITH MY LAST BUILD..ONLY 41 BUT VERRY SICK...GODBLESS GUYS
Thanks guys, I have an 89 non turbo 13b. The omp has electrical connectors. When the omp fails-this is the second time- it causes the ecu to kick the car into limp mode. How do I stop the limp mode if I delete the omp
Not too sure. Ours is fully mechanical and doesn't have a connector on it. I'd say if you maybe complete the circuit to basically trick the ecu into thinking you still have the omp.
Im will to bet that the electrical connector is a pressure switch of some sort. When there is oil pressure, the switch will be tripped. You just need to figure out if it's shorted to ground with or w/ out pressure and wire it up accordingly.
I have the same issue with my '90 convert. This video might help. I am going to block off the OMP, run premix and ziptie the position sensor wide open. That should trick the ECM into thinking the OMP is sending oil into the engine eliminating the limp mode code. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ez3jWhHP22o.html
@@themodgarage9216 S4 86-88 have a mechanical omp, as for the S5 89-91 they have an electrical omp, the electrical model is known to fail. but the S4 omp are nearly never at fault. but yes, full premix is the best. this is the way.
Hey guys, I gta 82 gal 12a that I'm making time for to restore. May or may not do videos, probably should but I'm 53 and it's not my thing, we'll see maybe get my son in on that part. Anyway I'm outta Chicago. Good luck and I'll be watching and supporting.
