@@russianspy5307 i hope that a Bush ranger spin-off of RDR will be released, and if they will make a sequel to the Marston saga, it will not be already a Wild West atmosphere.
Sam Sabastian a good living? The majority remained poor for a long time and weren’t free from their own petty criminality. Especially those in the same position as Ned. The only difference is that Ned wasn’t going to take the corrupt police’s bullshit and actually did something about it
@@greyjay9492 What are you saying? That Australia 🇦🇺 and by default Australians such as Ned Kelly or myself don't exist? What kind of idiot are you then? Get a proper education that includes geography and world history.
I want in Red Dead Redemption 3 to play as Ned Kelly. Only it is an alternate history and you win the Glenrowan siege, start a revolution and fight the redcoats.
I mean here it feels fairly anti-Ned, stuff like 'Most at the time saw them as the criminals they were, but some, local to the kelly's, bought into the idea that the Kelly boys being a resistance for the downtrodden.' That sounds fairly dismissive of the reasons people supported him.
Sometimes the criminals are the only ones who "Stand up" to corrupt law enforcement and administrations. Look at how many outlaws and gangsters we in America romanticize. Talking, speaking, and shining them in a good light that highlights they were kinda good guys. @@jophielswings
@@EmporerAaron This is why I've became more and more sympathetic to Anarchists and other groups like them. Anti-Gov leftists honestly have some great points on a lot of issues and I think they overall have the right idea on how society should be.
As an American merchant seaman I used to spend my evenings at Ned Kelly's Last Stand pub in Hong Kong starting in the 1970's. That is where I first heard of him. What a great story and the man is a legend.
He executed a man for 'snitching' just like any other criminal / mafia gang leader would. He executed a man, complete stranger to him, who was completely up in arms and surrendered to him, and he executed him in cold blood simply because of the uniform he was wearing. He killed fathers and made children beggars on the street. Thats a proven fact. The money he stole was all for his gangs benefit and never went elsewhere. His claim of fighting the power was a propaganda move to keep him liked by the gullible public. He was neither a complete hero or a complete villain. He was a criminal who did horrible things and purely for monetary gain. To call him a freedom fighter is laughably biased.
I would agree if he hadn't said in his Q&A that he'd probably never do that. He did make that video about the setting of Assassin's Creed: Origins, but that was only because Ubisoft payed him to do it.
Tyrannism and draconic aren't words. Tyranny and draconian are. Clerk is pronounced 'clark'. 'Tyrannism of English yolk' should be 'tyranny of the English yoke'.
There’s a great Heath ledger film from 2003 called Ned Kelly that i’d recommend to anyone really captures what it would have been like in Aus back in those days
There is films about him. One staring Mick Jagger and another Heath Leger. One just startered on Australia's STAN. If memory serves the first feature length film ever filmed was the life of Ned Kelly!!
I'm always conflicted on how much we should glorify Ned Kelly because the truth is he did commit murder and did intend to kill many many police on that train...on the other hand, there was a huge amount of corruption in the police force and Irish immigrants to Victoria were treated really badly at the time...it's a classic case of things not being black and white but many shades of grey.
Where did you get the idea that police were corrupt? In the Royal Commission held in 1881 into Vcitoria police, the word corrupt is not used once. The RC made mention that the police acted properly in dealing wtih the extensive criminality of Kelly. I challenge you to present any evidence tht the police were corrupt.
@armskaap Your observation matches the life of Kelly. He is not an inspiring figure- but a criminal. Unfortunately, he's often hailed as an Australian hero.
This is almost a play-by-play of the story of Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2. SPOILER: Especially the ending where Kelly went out with two revolvers and started to shoot a bunch of police knowing he would die....... almost played out literally how Red Dead 1 ended.....
So, why hasn’t this been made into a film?! Good god what a story! I don’t mean to trivialise real events and murders but they should get the Coen brothers on this.
I love your videos, Feature History! I love how you educate people period, whether it's something people know about or not! I have a History channel, too! Check it out, by the way! Keep up the good work! Peace out and Rock on! ✌️ 🤘
