personally, i think wheeler should be in the conversation for the hart at this moment for how he’s put the team on his back while scheifele has been injured

How do you have Burns> Subban for Norris? Subban is way better Defensively, has the some of the worst zone starts in the league, and still manages to be on pace for 65+ points.

Winnipeg maybe should be higher. I mean the loss so far on the homestand was overtime to Vegas and as you said on a controversial game. Beat Tampa Bay pretty well. And ahead of Nashville in standings. Im not saying they are number one but a strong argument for 3rd. And remember they did all of this while being injury plagued team

For the Islanders Halak has been good the past month and a half but their defense can't get the puck out and the offense is constantly giving the puck away, ergo, lots of shots against. The Rangers need a rebuild. Maybe the Islanders do too. (keeping Tavares, Barzal and other core guys). Gesundheit, Yvonne!

I love the hockey guy! Even though I'm a born and raised die hard yinzer. Love my penguinos!I really appreciate the effort you put in to your videos. You're very knowledgeable about all things hockey and you're fair in your critiques. You may not like my team but your love of the game trumps your unfortunate favorite team picks. I say as long as your #1 team isn't the freaking flyers then you're awesome. I can't say I like that you occasionally pull for the Crapitals but since we trounce them in a timely manner on our own constantly, I can look past that too. You're dedication to making all of these videos right when we expect them is clearly as you call it, a labor of love. Hope you never quit. LV & TB both won 2 of 3 on the road but LV drops 2 while TB moves up 2? No comprende. They both won in Calgary, but the Bolts lost in WPG.. Is a TB win at #26 VAN more impressive than the Knights win at #5 JETS. I don't think so.

Preds fan here. Don't know that Nashville should be ranked so high based on their loss to Chicago three games ago. However, after that loss they finally got to play a game this year at full strength with the return of Filip Forsberg and have looked really solid in the two games after the Hawks loss.

Boychuk and De Hann have been out for the Isles defense. I'm not saying that them coming back would fix all of the issues, but them being hurt has made the defense even more of a mess than it was.

I can see why you've moved the Sharks down to 16th. Their defense has left the goalies out to dry over the past few weeks, and Thornton's initially a big injury -- considering how much he was producing before going down. Good to see the team clamp down on defense in Detroit and Columbus. But that said, I'm not sure if they can hold onto 2nd in the Pacific when 14 of their remaining games are against the Central. That's brutal.

Boychuk isn’t playing, he has been injured since December. The islanders have lost both Boychuk and De Haan to long term injuries. Two staples in our defense. We are also missing Kulemin who is one of our best penalty killers and defensive forwards. A lot has changed in the defensive end...

Tbh Minnesota is only good at home and you have to win road games to win the Stanley cup imo, and to make the playoffs. We'll see if they can make the playoffs cause it will be close. Tampa beat Nashville last week as well lol?

Boychuck has been hurt since the beginning of January. In terms of advanced stats, he’s been having a solid defensive year. They just need him back in the lineup, and Seidenberg our.

Boychuck and DeHaan have been hit with the injury bug, but Boychuck seems to be close to returning. That should help but realistically we need Greene or OEL desperately. That being said I know this doesn't sound right but with the islanders current scoring metrics if their goalie gave up 3.0 goals a night they would win most games.

Not having Hamonic isn't really the Islanders problem on defense, he had his worst season of his career (43% corsi) before he was traded away. The issue is that Boychuk and De Haan have been hurt long term and the other pieces that they have back there (Seidenberg, Hickey, Mayfield, etc.) have been terrible at possession and clearing the zone. Nick Leddy is also horrifically minus (-27, worst on the team) and appears disinterested most nights. The bottom six forward lines get killed nearly every game in possession, too. There's no long term fix for this internally, the GM needs to make trades to upgrade the roster or they will likely miss the playoffs allowing 40+ shots every game.

I think that because of the duchane trade and Colorado getting so much teams will expect too much for star players and no trades will be done this year

Two things that have little chance of happening but think should be considered is Bergeron for Hart and Pietrangelo for Norris (btw i HATE the bruins and blues)

New Number Magnets!

I understand why Jets fans are gonna be disappointed with this power ranking. We are on a point streak with 12 points in our last 7 games, beat Tampa, had a controversial OT loss to Vegas and shut out the Avs last night. Doing this all without our star player and a couple others out as well. It seems like being under rated has been a benefit to us all season, at least we moved up 2 spots on Shannons board. There's no need to get pissed about being 5th 😂

Put Kucherov or someone on the Sens and see how many points he gets. I know he is good but it’s not that hard to be good when you’re passing to Stamkos and Point and Hedman. When Karlsson was playing with them at the All Star break he got 3 assists and a waved off goal. Look at Mark Stone. He is point per game passing to Dumont, Pyatt, Burrows, Thompson etc. I’m not saying he deserves a trophy, I’m saying there are serious advantages to consider.

I feel like too many people are over-rating Vegas and Pittsburgh for the playoffs right now. Vegas has no experience as a team, and someone like Anaheim could dismantle them no problem in a 6 or 7 game series. Meanwhile Pittsburgh will enter the playoffs have played 301 games in 3 seasons. Pittsburgh is running their tank empty right now, and if they don't slow down before the playoffs, I think there's a good chance they lose to a sleeper team like Philly or Columbus. Tampa is definitely a good choice for the cup rn, but that could easily change depending on how their 3 remaining games against Boston go this year. Obviously I'm biased, but Boston isn't a team people can count out. Remember 2011? Because everyone that said they weren't getting past the Habs, Flyers, Lightning or Canucks sure do. Inexperience will play a role, but the Bruins are going to be a deadly playoff team. Physical and fast, few teams will be able to match their pace in a 7 gane series. Tonight was a prime example of why Bergeron will almost certainly win the Selke for the 5th time: he is, by far, the best defensive forward right now. He can score, set up goals, and play the best defence of any offenceman in the in the league. If Marchand wasn't injured and suspended this season, he would be leading the league in points (as he leads in points/game), so I wouldn't exactly sleep on him creeping up in the points race. Thirdly, Tuukka Rask is 18-0-2 in his last 20 games, boasting something like a 1.47 gaa and .945 sv%. His early season taints his season record for sure, but he has been the best goaltender in the league bar non since taking back over from Dobby in December. He has 1 regulation loss since his loss in Anaheim November 14th. If Tuukka keeps playing as he has been for the last half of the season, I have no doubts that he will win the Vezina, despite Vasy's record and S/Os. Tuukka is playing the best hockey of his career and it's showing. Lastly, Bergeron is a willing Hart candidate this season. Each year he proves more and more why he'll bear the C once Chara leaves, and he's shown it more than ever this season. On top of being the team's leading scorer, he has been one of the best setup players and defensive breakout players all season long, and the fact he's not in the Hart discussion is boggling. It's funny, had Boston not started 6-7-4 (going 25-3-4 since then) chances are Tuukka is Vezina favourite, Bergy is Hart and Selke favourite, and the B's are standout cup favourites. It's amazing what a poor 17 game start will do to honours talk.

Ok....the Jets need to be on that second row!!! We beat all 3 on the second row last time we played them ( yaya the Vegas one was controversial but we outplayed them as well and we got a point). I think being ahead of Nashville in the standing puts us in 4th because we are winning missing our top Center for so long. For the hart, hear me out, who has meant more to their team than Taylor Hall? The difference in the devils when Hall plays and when he's out is insane. on more than a few nights this year, Hall has dragged the devils to victory. The devils being in contention right now is almost exclusively due to the play of Taylor Hall. I know he's going to get over looked because he's "only" got 51 points in 46 games played compared to Kutcherov and others but take Hall out of jersey and where are the devils? Probably bottom feeders. Hall for Hart!!!
