Nice, I also have a Federal "Q" with mount and back cover. Them parts are available from Federal . Might be pricey but maybe you can find good used ones. The way you ran it with the front flush against the table, you are blocking the intake air flow. The siren pulls air thru the screen in front and the air is chopped on the side of the unit. Try it with the front screen open and you will hear a huge difference.

Or a Buell air horn.
