I sometimes forget that Courier is a former tennis great doing these interviews and not only a professional broadcaster that has honed this craft for a lifetime. You couldn’t teach a broadcasting student/professional to do a better job than he does in the time that he has with these people. He asks really unique questions, makes the players feel comfortable, gets great information, is respectful, funny, classy and humanizes these stars like Roger while simultaneously making them larger than life to get even more interest in their future matches. What he does is so inexplicably hard, and he makes it look so incredibly easy. Can’t say enough good things about him!
I think that Jim Courier is the best post-match interviewer. He's informal, funny, respectful and just a lot of fun. I can see Andy Roddick doing/being similar...
I was just going write that! You're absolutely right, he is fantastic. Perfect delivery and every player seems to be at ease with him. The games aside, best thing about the Aus Open is Jim Courier!!
Seriously, they were talking about young players posing a threat to Federer way back in 2007 (one of his peak years ).......12 years later, at age 37....it's still the same debate.
He had a very underrated career. 23 singles titles overall including the four grand slam titles, and he did this playing in the era of guys like Sampras, Agassi, Edberg, and Becker.
So not only does Roger have the most beautiful tennis game ever but he’s also funny and charming. I can’t love this man more. I love and miss him so much. Thanks so much for posting Roger videos.
Wawrinka when asked about how many slams can federer win he replied that as long he playing grand slams he can win. It's only when he is not playing that he can't win
Was feeling low and I searched for old interviews of Roger and this came up... And boy...here I am...grinning like an idiot! This man ❤❤ Jim & Roger are a deadly hilarious combo 😂😂
5:25 "lot of young crew coming after you" with Fed at 25 and 13 years later they still ask him the same thing but the "young crew" never seems to come up.
Very difficult to supersede this genius.players are there will be there in future but no one can replace him.A master of his class and a gentleman to all ,the sports lovers must thank god that a player like him is on earth and has entertained us for the last 16 years
I fear When Federer leaves Tennis, half of the fans will be gone (( he is that big for tennis! His emotions his passion for the game is huge. What a talent and a person:)
Metalgear SolidSnake Actually, Nadal’s fandom is bigger than Federer. But I’m not sure if Nadal’s fan will be that interested in tennis when Federer retires. Those two complement each other. I’ve always believe that if Nadal decides to retire tomorrow, Federer will retire immediately after him.
minyra r that’s what I think. Nadal has more on social media, Roger seems to have more in court when he is playing but after both of them retire they would definitely need someone extraordinary in sport to fill that void.
When you are down, just watch this. The amazing humility and sportsmanship these two guys share will just literally lift your spirits up. We all know about Fed the GOAT but Jim has two french open titles to his name and to be doing this after a great career is just a blessing. I just wish this video gets updated with many more snippets from the recent past 🙏🏼
The beauty about all this is Jim Deliberetly leads Roger for really funny answers and in the process does not mind getting g roasted. Great guys these 2. Great chemistry.
Props to Carmen McLenny for this incredible compilation. We usually focus on the the subject matter here in our YT comments but today I really want to take a moment to acknowledge the hard work of folks like you who spend quite a bit of time and focus in putting together a really long and detailed compilation like this! THANK YOU! This viewer so appreciates it! It was such a pleasure to watch!
Thank you so much, appreciate it! It took some time and hard work yes, but it was fun :) Wish I could've treated you guys with 2018 compilation I made a while ago now as well, but it was immediately blocked on copyright grounds :(
lmao even his own country has not considered him worthy enough to do that so far let alone the rest of the world. Sheeps. Where is your Roger Federer now? Back to the agenda of making money off random charity events with Bill Gates after getting the 4th round humiliation? Keep crying you subjective little followers.
Ashish S LoL his country has a currency with his face carved on it. What have you achieved behind screen apart from trolling. Have your own achievements and we’ll start talking.
Greatness cannot be strictly defined by the numbers. Those who try to encapsulate greatness in that vacuum are sure to never understand true greatness. Roger was and is the definitive GOAT. He changed the game and ushered in the common era with grace and deadly accuracy. His impact is unmatched. His rivalries throughout his career ensured a dominance that no other era has or likely will eclipse. He pushed his peers to greater heights who, in turn, pushed him to an even greater stand. He is and always will be the standard that all players are measured by. His appeal and draw may only be matched by Nadal. His career and impact will never be repeated by any player. That's greatness. Roger Federer--the Greatest of All Time.
Jim Courier is definitely my favorite commentator and interviewer because he is really funny and he tries to show less bias towards like Federer and Nadal while commentating than other commentators.
@@giovannipizardi7006 Courier works for Tennis Channel which doesn't have priority rights to broadcasting the AO tournament. ESPN, McEnroe's network has rights which is why they are doing it currently. Courier may not do interviews until later in the tournament if at all.
These 2 are on a completely different level of brotherhood, friendship. Their chemistry is just lit. I love the way Jim always has a smile when Roger is speaking. Jim just adores him and dotes on him❤
Great vid brings back memories but wish it would have had the part of interview after 2010 semi win vs tsonga where fed is talking about upcoming final vs Murray and says Murray will be hoping to win britains 1st major in 150000 years or something lool was classic
Love love love Roger and Jim missed both of them, be blessed Roger and Jim, thanks God for the life of both of them. Sad that Roger will be retiring but Tennis is Roger and Roger is Tennis🇨🇭😘❤️💝💫💐
Jim courier is such a cool dude. In 2001 I was at the hard rock in Orlando Florida watching a John Bell and Kevin Kinney concert. I sat at the bar and to my left I couldn’t believe my eyes. There sat Jim just chillin he apparently digs really good music and I was the only person there amongst all the jam band kids who recognized him. Very cool chap indeed
Courier has come long way from his big serves to big smiles. Johnny Mac is so mature and honest commentator, and not afraid of bullies. I like his ibm ad too... relaxed it’s just a game!👍👍 also he has a cute smile. Respect after seeing that tiebreak with borg.
