I think a big problem with the cover is "Remind the slaves". You sing it rather than simply say it like the song does, which creates this different vibe the original song went with. I get that its a cover and some things will be different but it feels less like a tyranical... tyrant and more like a musical number

I wonder how many people know this song is actually about the COVID-19 pandemic in the US and (presumably) the response to it by the gov't. From the Genius lyrics page: " 'Feed the Machine' is a Single by the band Poor Man’s Poison, according to one of the band members themselves, the song is explicitly about the [...] COVID-19 situation in America [in 2020]."
