Late winter is one of the most stressful time periods in the deer woods, freezing temperatures and most of the preferred food sources have been consumed. The little food that is still available is often times covered with snow or ice.
In this video we will talk about an easy way you can provide woody browse on your property, giving the deer with a beneficial food source to not only help them survive winter, but ensure they are healthy as we move into spring!

We got that most recent ice storm here in NY a few weeks ago. My neighbor's maple dropped three huge branches. The deer were in heaven lol.

Great video. I went out to remove some stands and loosen straps on others in the very deep snow. Half a dozen stands and 3 hours later I was finally finished. Not sure how the animals get around in this stuff.

They are incredibly tough. Gain more respect for them each year. The deep snow does make it much more difficult to find food but that's why they build up those fat reserves throughout the fall. Dropping a couple trees would definitely help them out!

My favorite to cut for winter browse is Red Maple.

Red maple is great. Prolific stump sprouters! I try to flush cut those ones a little lower for that reason. That way the new growth will be at deer level longer.
