Mexican momma here! Whenever we have an eye issue, i make chamomile tea. I steep loose or bagged chamomile and let it cool completely. Once cooled i add a few drops to the affected eye. Its a natural remedy that we use. Its to help clear and clean the eye. Maybe that can help a bit 🤗

I love that you keep a very respectful boundary with what you share with your kids. It’s wonderful that you can still share your tips on cooking, homesteading, homeschooling, among other things without crossing that line. Unfortunately I’ve had to unfollow some content creators bc it’s just crazy what people share, especially about their kids. Love your content and it’s keeping me motivated!

Any time I have an eye issue I make a cup of tea, steep the bag well, and then use it as a compress. I do not drink the tea, I just redip the bag into the cup to warm the teabag back up. Seriously works wonders!!💜🌵

Jamerrill, first let me say how much I enjoy your videos. I am almost 70 years old and I have been cooking since I was in my early teens. My mama and myself have ALWAYS washed our cast iron and it has held up beautifully. As for using metal utensils......YES I DO. I personally loathe plastic utensils, they're too flimsy. BTW....on oiling cast iron after washing, I think it's a great idea but I rarely have done it and one piece I have is either right at 70 years old or more. It was my mama's cornbread/cornstick pan. It's still good. Prayers you're feeling better.

I care for my cast iron the way my parents always did. We wash with soap and water and put directly on the stove to heat the pan/dry it. During that process I add a bit of oil to keep it seasoned. I suspect my mother has used that process for over 50 years with no issues.

My mother and hers both did the soap wash and stove on to dry, then oil before going in oven to live until next use as well. I don't have any cast iron yet, but I plan to treat them the same.

I’ve cooked with cast iron for over 30 years. I wash mine, but not every time I use it. It depends on what I’m cooking and how messy or sticky it is. If I do wash it, instead of just wiping it out, I dry it in a low oven & then lightly oil it before storing it. The humor has been distorted over the years. The issue with washing it is people don’t dry it well enough. Cast iron will rust if it’s not properly dried & oiled.

Jamerrill, I feel this to my core. Its a bizarre eye allergy. I suffered for years, daily, with that eye nonsense. No medication ever helped but switching from a warm compress to an ice did. Irrigate with cold wafer and then hold a frozen wash rag to the area. Worked every time for me and will help you avoid that eyelid from getting raw. I love your channel Jamerrill! I have a tip for your kitchen aid which you may already know but in case you don’t here it is from the KA site; It is important to push down on the back of the bowl until you hear an audible "snap". If you do not hear the snap, the bowl may appear level, but it will not be locked into place, and the beater will hit the sides of the bowl.

I know Americans are big fans of the cup scoops but consider a jug for pouring your pancake batter, you don't get the drips so much and not so much back and forth to the bowl. If I'm doing a little batch(which you will NEVER do☺️) I even make it in the jug.(someone else may not have to feed the 5000) Hope you had a great mini break and you and the little one are feeling better ❤

I worked at a camp and we made 200 pancakes some mornings. We mixed up the batter and poured into metal pitchers and poured on the grill, so easy

Hi Jamerill! If you ever get the time (ha ha), i would love to see a video explaining how you divide indoor and outdoor responsibilities amongst your children. Just ages and suggested responsibilities over the years and how you've developed the system you have for division of labor. As a fellow homeschooling mom with 5 kiddos under 10, division of labor is important and we started canning our vegetables this year. But with all you juggle, I'd love to see how you have your family help manage it all.

Hey there, Jamerrill. I am sure that this has already been mentioned, but green tea bags are great for reducing redness and swelling. Hopefully you will never have whatever caused your eye to get so irritated. Steep yourself a cup of greentea, and toss the bag in the freezer for a few. Lay it over bug bites, bee stings, acne. It'll take the swelling and redness down. It helps with the itch from mosquito bites too. Don't use this on open wounds. It's not recommended. I usedcthis for my kids when they'd get pink eye, and when they were teens. It works. ❤ I hope your feeling better soon. ❤❤❤

😂❤ I don’t know if you even try, but lady you are a hoot and a half!! I was watching your one 👁️ cooking (sorry, I’m sure you were miserable) but I was out of control laughing!! 🤣 I live in central MN we had next level Canadian wild fire smoke, unreal creepy yellow skies for actual weeks! Seems to be a lot better . Hope you and the family are all doing better now.

I've missed watching girl. I've been sick and I'm telling I've assisted with the slides, etc. However, having a bone marrow test is really something else. I love watching you and trying new things that you've already tested your recipes. Thank you girl.... 🐓 🤗 🐓 🌻

Jamerill girl you gotta get some kefir grains! You will make beautiful kefir with that raw milk and its the exact type of probiotic that's great for preventing strep! Just start with a tsp and build up gradually so you don't get alot of a detox reaction. Sometimes when you clean up your diet you can get sick more. When we switched to a clean diet we had 3 months of off and on sickness then eventually we felt much better and got sick less than everyone else. Hugs mama!

That many pancakes 🥞 is a brave mission. Re-oiling your griddles between batches should help with the sticking. Because your cast iron is holding heat, dropping your temp as you go should help with the over-browning. 😊

My gluten intolerant girl can eat buckwheat. Buckwheat is actually a seed, not wheat. Which is awesome cause it opens up more foods that she can eat!

We had issues as well with the bad air quality in northern va. Allergies have been horrible here as well. Allergy meds have worked for us even with issues we were having due to the code purple days. Allergy eye drops are a blessing.

What great comments about doing what works, for each of us. There are unlimited ideas and ways to do things, but we can only do one thing at a time and building our skills. I’m delving into foraging and making salves and homemade vanilla and canning and mega soup making. But one step or thing at a time.
