I hope you love this new Massive Food Preservation Day Home Canning My Freezer video! That's right, we have a Massive Food Preservation Home Canning day where we process two full shelves in my freezer plus several other meat baskets. These freezer shelves were packed with what was left of our homegrown chickens and turkeys. We also have a lesson in home canning turkey (WE DON'T!), and we precook to later freeze sausage. We accomplish so much massive food preservation on this day (actually two days!) by cooking down the chicken, turkeys, leftover turkey necks and backs and livers/hearts. Then we pull the meat from the bones to home can chicken and turkey chunks. Then we cook down all the bones and little leftover meat pieces in three roaster ovens over night. On day two of our food preservation we also get a 30 quart stock pot of poultry bone broth going on the stove. After that we pull the fat off of our chicken broth and can 30 quarts of broth, along with 30 quarts of meat, plus we save the pulled chicken fat to get some Schmaltz. All articles and links mentioned in today's video are listed below! I so hope you enjoyed this Massive Food Preservation Day Home Canning My Freezer, together!

Hi, I am 82 years old and while my family was growing I can need and froze all most everything we ate. I baked all our baked goods. I tried not to buy anything from ready made from the stores. I am by myself now and still try to cook and bake what I eat. I really miss all of the gardening and canning. I enjoy watching you do all the things I used to be able to do. We grew all of our own meat, fruit, veggies and fish. Thank you so much for your hard work. God bless you and yours.

So, this may seem to be a weird or off the wall comment, but I just have to say you maintain all of your cooking utensils and cookware beautifully. You put your stuff through restaurant level challenges and they are all looking great-none of that burnt on cooking grease, those hard water lines most of us have, etc. I just really appreciate that dedication to your tools having been raised by a professional cook and having been her low cost labor in the kitchen, I know very well how hard it is to keep all of that in the condition that you have done. Lots of work to put it mildly. 😊

Good news here! I have been canning ground chicken and turkey for years! I use the same times as ground beef! I do pre-cook then can up with a tsp of chicken bullion powder and water. Just because the fda has not gotten to checking it out and developing a recipe does not mean you can't can it! Thx for your great videos I enjoy watching them as I can and preserve all my projects!

Its just me and my 2 yr old, but freezer meals, and I just completed making my own small emergency pantry after watching your videos, for our small little family and house and it has made life and things so much easier for me and us and making our dollar go farther. I don't have to think about food every minute of the day and sacrifice nutrition and so much less stress, less grocery trips. Even just us 2 its made things better. Us having a small freezer has been a game changer for us.

You can use the inner pan to that poor roaster as another bowl/defrosting pot. I would also save the lid in case of a mishap with one of the others at a later time. The lid also works great to put on top of a pan/griddle etc to melt cheese onto a burger or anything really.

Wow! I am only now just realising after listening to you stories and watching you preserve every part of those chickens that I realise why my mother did the same to feed her family. When I was a little girl we raised our own chickens gathered the eggs. In hard times as a small child she showed me how to look after them, butcher them, pluck them, gut them, bury thier innards. I never knew we we going though hard times because she always home cooked from scratched all meals, cakes and lollies. ❤❤❤

Hi Jamerill. FYI, when my garbage disposal went out and the plumber came out to replace, he said one of the hacks he gives his customers is to run the disposal after the dishwasher cycle is complete. He said doing so gets rid of any gummy residue left behind after the dishwasher cycle and enables both appliances to last longer. Hope this hack helps.

No to overnight anything on or in a gas stove or oven, even before we knew I had health issues with the gas. Like you, Yes to overnight broth all the time, always in roasters on very low and crockpots on low. Sometimes I have them in every plug! New to doing it in IP - jury is out on flavor difference. Right now it seems like it's weaker. I knew someone in the cold country mountains who had a fabulous old stove that had a special soup well. The very long simmer broth from it was wonderful, so I replicate it with all these electrical appliances. I haven't been able to watch you for a long time. I love your toned down make up. You are beautiful. Could never tell that before. ❤

Yes, we nurses here ya. I worked 12 hour nights on weekends in an ICU/CCU early in our marriage. I learned to plan food and prep to cover me and my husband( no children at that point) . Often had no time to eat on shift so would do a drive then run just to get home to collapse in the bed. And often significantly later than what the shift was designated. Having food covering my “Baylor weekends” was so helpful.

Thank you for reading that about not washing chicken. I was a hospital dietitian and that is SO unsafe to do yet every Tik Tok cooking video the person is either washing meat or chicken or there are a million comments saying they didn't wash it. Washing does nothing for bacteria but spread it around!

The scrap chicken meat pulled off the bone makes amazing chicken salad sandwiches/ buns. Once cooked portion up into bags ready to defrost & mix with onions, celery, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, shredded carrots ect, mix with mayonnaise or vinaigrette dressing for a fantastic lunch. Alternatively use for burritos by adding salads & salsa. So versatile & no waste.

You put ice in the ladle and put the bottom of the ladel into the liquid, the ice freezes the fat and all I do is wipe it off and repeat until there is no fat then a paper towel placed on the liquid then remove. You will get an almost fat free liquid. Much love until next time.💖💖

Hi Jamerrill, I’m fairly new to your videos and I’m really enjoying spending time with you. I have a hint to help with cleaning your burnt on pot. My Mum and I have tested it out a couple of times and it really worked. When you have a burnt pot. Empty out everything and then add water to your burnt pot and throw a good handful of fresh cut up celery pieces into the water. Now put the pot on the heat to bring up to the boil and just let it cook for about 5 minutes. Use a spatula or wooden spoon and start scraping across the burnt bottom and the black should just start lifting up. Cook as long as you need to and, if you need to add a bit more celery, then do so. Just try It out. It should lift off fairly easily and we were amazed how quick and easy it was to clean. Then just clean it up as normal. Anyway I can’t wait to watch more of your videos. Thank you for filming and sharing yourself and your day with me. I really appreciate you. Love and hugs from Australia. ❤️❤️🐨❤️❤️

Another great video full of information. You are amazing at what you're do and how you inspire others to do what they can. When you were talking about butchering your pigs, In 2020 Someone from our area we knew when pigs couldn't get sold they bought several. Neither my daughter or I have ever butchered. The couple in our area that were able to get the pigs that we bought one from they taught us how. Actually I was amazed it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. In fact there were 4 Pigs total that we helped on. The couple kept 2 and sold 1 to a Large family we know. As I was learning I thought wow if anyone who has done any patron before they could do this. The Other amazing part was the gentleman took The meat as we were butchering that he took some of it into the house grounded up And we had pork burgers. It was amazing. The Mom of the large family we know she is a deer hunter. Her husband doesn't like to process meat, but she does, and we helped her do her she mostly did her own. So I'm sure the day that you chose to do it You're going to do amazing. When you are talking about cooking your meat and then breaking it up and freeze in it. That's what I used to do boy was that a help. Years ago I had a friend that they would greal a bunch of meat and then freeze that. They would take the grilled hamburgers and different things like that and just warm them up. It's amazing to see how far the Lord has taken you and what you do. Bless you and your family

Hi Jamerrill. We all do what we need to do what works best at the time. I was a single parent working 2 jobs living in an apartment , small fridge/freezer. what I used to do was take one day usually a Sunday and cook 2 big meals , pot of sauce and roast chicken. And that's how I did it I only had 1 child but being a single parent w/2 jobs it was stressful. But I made it work. You are making really good progress with the canning, even though I don't think I'll be doing any canning it's very interesting and informative. Thank you.

I leave the tidbits in the broth & do at broth time. I've been canning for about 25 yrs. Never had an issue. I'm 69 & can't do much with my bad knees, I should be in a wheel chair but I'm stubborn. Miss my huge gardening.

I love seeing your face with no makeup ❤ reminds me of my mom when I was a kid and she declared a grocery shopping day. She would get a cup of coffee in before we would be spend several hours going to all the discount grocery stores.

I strain some stock then half I leave bits of chicken in to this I add vegetables for a soup. I don’t can , everything is frozen. I just love your sense of humour and your kindness. I was a nurse in another life, I’m 72 now. I remember coming home very tired, it’s a physical and mental tiredness. I only had 2 kids but never thought of bulk cooking until many years later. I was a single mum, working full time and going to college 2 nights a week for a couple of years. Kids were teenagers , so I cook all weekend and they then have meals to heat up before I got home, such a life saver. It’s now a habit to always cook double, great for nights when I’m tired or busy and keeps me from the takeout foods. It’s also come in handy for giving to my grown children for times they still need some mum TLC.😊

I just got a Presto canner late last year. I also have a water bath canner and a steamer canner. I do can a lot of things, but not as much as you do. It's just me here, and I use some as gifts when someone is in need of some meals. You sure rock your canning days. I don't know how you do it all! Bless you. Stay safe and healthy my friend. Love from Western, N.Y. P.S, you can also re-can the one that didn't take.

I live in Galveston TX. My garden is already producing. I'm totally in shock looking back last year at my garden pics. My tomatoes are already forming, I have already harvested some yellow squash, beans, peas, cabbage and spinach. The heads are forming on my broccli and The rest is growing fruit and next month, I will be a very busy lady.(I did start with a green house though)

Jamerill, I started watching you about four years ago. About when you moved to this house and made do with the tiny kitchen. There were always little people who look like you going through or playing nearby. I miss seeing the little ones. Looking forward to better weather when you’ll be out taking walks with them.
