FEEDING SNAKES

What's up guys, it's been a while. In this video I discuss some snake diets..
From cat snakes, vine snakes and some very toxic snakes as well as some of the oddest!
Please keep in mind that some snakes will not go into frozen thawed diets, nor are they easy to come by. Resulting in some live feeding footage. Let's make it clear that it is impossible to make exotic keeping cruelty-free. You do what you can for the animals you keep.

Awesome video Chris. Really interesting stuff. It’s the first time I hear about a snake that eats spiders, and I’m still amazed by the centipede eating snake, which I first came to know in your post about them. Can’t wait to see the next video.

This is one of the best feeding videos I have ever seen besides professional nature shows. You show diversity of snake diet, and also some snakes i have rarely seen besides in books. The egg feeders where my childhood dreams snakes, I spent hours looking in books for them so that takes me back. I've kept a lot of snakes aswell, I like the big pythons and Asian najas the most, but share I've dabbled in bits and African najas aswell. Now I just admire them. Anyways, great vid! Ps, going to Thailand as soon as possible, or as soon as the covid situation allows it, I've only seen a few videos and gathered that u help with caring for rescue snakes, does this mean that you have a zoo/reptile showroom for lack of better word that is open to the public? Best regards Andreas

Hey Chris, you don't see too many people keeping keelbacks with much success in captivity (even the more experienced keepers i know of have only been able to keep them alive for around a year), your's seem to be in excellent shape, have you ever bred them? Do you deworm them periodically throughout the year because of their diet?
@Chrisweeet
@Chrisweeet 3 года назад
I have yet to breed them haha but they are quite easy to keep. Ones in captivity overseas die 90% because the altitude destroyed their respiratory systems while they were being imported. A few from 100s survive

@killbillgoodfellas
@killbillgoodfellas 4 года назад
Can I ask you, there are a few reptiles I've seen very few people owning, mainly mambas and komodo dragons. Do you think this is because they present a particular danger compared to others, like are mambas more dangerous than cobras or kraits, are komodo dragons substantially more dangerous than other monitor lizards? I can't even find reliable info on how toxic is the bite. Anyway, awesome video, cheers!
@Chrisweeet
@Chrisweeet 4 года назад
Mambas are in captivity not too many, but laws are getting stricter, as well as them being hard to breed for most people.. Komodos require very strict permits most places, quite illegal without them.
