I only heard about her when she was a guest judge on RuPaul's Drag Race and they had to lipsync to "Ghost". That's when I started checking her songs and now stumbled upon this one. Can't believe I had never heard about her before.
GOD I wish I knew about Fefe back when I was a teenager. Seeing a black girl singing rock would've changed my entire perspective on myself as a black girl who was into it, but was literally the only girl of color in my ENTIRE school. It was such an isolating experience. Needless to say, this fed that teenager in me OMG
That's funny! I was a black girl into rock (well still am) and you're right, I clinged onto her when I was in high school as I felt like she validated something in me as a minority in my school. I'm sorry you didn't get to know her back then but it's nice you know her now.
Yes some Canadian rock is good give it more of A listen, I met this girl a few times really awesome takes me back, I'm in Canada myself we got some pretty good bands down there
She was all over mtv for a while around 2003-2004 because “Everything” was on the soundtrack for the movie Perfect Score and I remember that video playing a lot as well as “take me away” and “bye bye boyfriend”
WHY DID I NEVER HEAR THIS ON THE RADIO AS A TEEN? I WOULD HAVE EATEN THIS UP!!! (Damnit US you have failed me again 😢) I'm here 11 years late but I'm here 😅
Just saw her live. After 10 yrs of touring and performing...this group is tight! She is not a newbie. I respect her talent. She writes songs for Miley, Selena and Jonas and others. She produces and engineers in the studio. You have to see her live. She is definitely influenced by Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love. Even the new pop tunes sound heavy live. This chic is gonna be around for a long time. Bring on the haters!!
I was asked to go to a club one night in Edmonton a long time ago with a group of friends, I never knew this at the time but this woman was at that club and rocked the absolute shit out of it.....needless to say it was one of the best night of my life.
It's February 2023 and I'm 45yrs old. I've never heard this song before!! I really wish this was on Greek radio!! I hear this song today for the first time in my life and I just can't take it out of my mind!!!!
Fefe was her own league of music when she did this song and others back in the day. ❤🎉 she should went more viral then she did. Amazing vocals on this woman. I hope she’s great these days, her music got me through some rough teenager things ❤
Def Jam, are you sorry yet for dropping this amazing female artist?! You lost out on her because you didn't believe in her and her art. I hope she is laughing at you now.
I have been binge watching her videos. I never thought I would say anything against Queen Fefe. As a black male I have to say this though. Fefe, you’re one of us. Why are there no black people EVER in your videos!?!
Not only is Fefe an iconic Canadian star, this song would perfectly suit a stylish sexy Silent Hill type of movie where we get real world commentary on very post modern Millennial vibes.
Well I'm back after the new article I read today. Record label screwed this woman. But even so, albums like this one and the young and the hopeless really helped shape the music I like. Paramore is my favorite band. Definitely don't get there without fefe.
shes naturally got her own style.. shes not trying to stick out so hard and be different like say nicki minaj.. thats what makes her so lovable to me.. go fefe!!! :)
Qu'est devenue cette artiste ? Énormément de talent avec des chansons qui dépassent de beaucoup la qualité de certaines de nos jours... suis-je la seule à qui le rock manque ???!!!!!!!
Bought this album when it first came out. I expected big things for her. Island Def Jam kinda fucked her over. Yeah I said it. Sorry not sorry. Still a fan of hers though.
I was a 16 year old girl when this song came out and was going through my first long term relationship breakup (though not long after we got back together) this song was literally the song I angsted to when I was going through the heartache. Such a perfect breakup song. I’m in my 30s now and single but I still feel all the rage and pain from my teens listening to this.
Fefe is and will never be anything like Avril. Sure they had the same style, Avril came first so of course people will compare but they are nothing like one another, Fefe had her own sound, even now she has a different sound to her work. She's one of the few musicians these days that have any amount of talent. I hope she keeps with it and people stop comparing her to people like Rhianna and Avril.
the general consensus is, that she stood out performing rock... ... now she's lost in mediocre pop music. ...... YOU WERE AMAZING WHEN YOU ROCKED ! COME BACK !
