Nice video as always ! You made the opener sequence very clear and it's important, because by pausing and all you give people time to read and understand each use of ability, ty !
I've tried to explain to my friends since launch that reaver is cheeks. Average player will struggle to reach 85% efficiency of sim and during things like m+ where you are losing globals to utility it's just not good enough. Felscarred has felt fun and OP since day 1, I play it low/no mover with all the fun talents we haven't gotten to use for 2 years and top every overall chart. ❤
I was dreading the thought of Reaver in raids.. THANK YOU Jedith for this news.. I have just been yoloing FS the whole time because it just felt better... now its good to know I wont have to fumble through Reaver to be raid competitive. Videos like this is why i check Jediths content every day, keep doing the Lord Illidans work Sir! You are a gem!
The thing that makes me hate mover builds on DH is not having my mobility to dodge mechanics. Oh look, a meteor is about to fall and everyone needs to relocate. I play one of the most mobile classes in the game, but I have to spam glide because all my mobility tools are on cooldown due to a stupid damage rotation. Imagine if this design was in other classes: Raid leader: Hey rogue, sprint and clear all these puddles on the ground. Rogue: I can't sprint sir, I used it to make my poisons do more damage.
@@Ressilge using my skills to do the proper rotation which increases my damage is bad planning? Did you read my comment at all or are you just throwing some random criticism just to feel good about yourself?
I think the argument would be if a mechanic that could potentially make you have to dodge/move out of it then hold your rotation till you see if that mechanic happens to you or not the blast if it doesn't. Every single melee class has to do this with a small exception to maybe ret. Example being. If a ability that requires me to move out of range and targets 5 people happens in 5 seconds(and this isn't enough time to do this part of the rotation.) Then pause ur rotation till you see what happens.
@@JustinAllen-pr4oq that's the main problem. Pausing the rotation to see if you'll have to move or not, which means losing damage. Even in m+ this also happens, I've seen situations where everyone used their movement abilities to rush forward after a couple of chain pulls and I'm forced to glide because I've used everything to do damage. I still haven't checked how it is playing in this expansion, but this has been a problem with havoc since the dawn of mover builds. It feels cool AF to use vengeful retreat or fel rush to dodge a mechanic, but I can't do it because it will break my rotation.
@@Marcelo-0000 but literally every class has this problem arguably with less available options for movement. Pausing may be the wrong move but you can switch to a simple filler if you aint trying to get screwed out of some of you cd uptime. But again. This is an everyone problem. We got effectively 4 different movement abilities outside of glide. We also have nether. Most classes have 2 3 if they talent. Even in general rotation we still have a extra dash for emergencies due to the cd of our windows. Alot of our windows are pretty gracious outside of EB and eye beam meta. So it's not as bad as you make it seem imo
I’m glad I stuck with you through the video, good moral! I’ve been playing FS since release, and was not sure why I did so much more DPS, even though sims contradicted what I was experiencing.
I wouldn't do that. Because you don't want to VR every time you press Eye Beam / you don't want to Eye Beam every time you VR So you'd need seperate key binds anyways and you're just creating an extra bind for yourself
@@Jedithtv I did it, but it is a diff keybind. I have one for Eye beam, One for Retreat, and one for both. It is a turnaround for anyone with difficulty using both. In my case I have Eye beam in shift+1 and retreat in shift+spacebar. (don't judge my keybinds, they work for me xD )
Aldrachi feels broken, but not in a good way. You don't get to use throw glaive at fleeing/ranged targets because Reaver's Glaive might be active and you HAVE to be in melee range to benefit from it. Reaver's also doesn't benefit from any of the "throw glaive" talents. You're forced to give up Collective Anguish in favor of Sigil of Spite, _further_ nerfing your own eye beam. I can go on but you all get the point. The synergy is all wrong. The good news is, Alrachi will likely get a rework at some point.
Aldrachi just feels more fun to me and less to worry about. I'm also not a super hardcore raider or dungeon pushers but idk. I like it simple enough and I don't ever really have a problem getting sould fragments
CEkAEDLOxe3SEPP2R8Hw6bhoSYmZmZmZGMzMjxMZYGAAAAAAwsNMmZMzgZmtZbMmBzshlNMLziZMMLaaMmZGD2A Here's the MM+ talents we're gonna take, you can do slight modification in the class tree to have more survivability or more cc for the high keys
Immo Aura being a ~27s cd and Sigil of Flame a 30s cd makes it a little weird. Are you supposed to hold both of these for your essence break combo every time? As in, do you hold Immo Aura for 13s and Sigil of Flame for 10s every time to line up with the 40s cd of eye beam and essence break? That way you get inertia, initiative and Student of suffering buff every time you essence break with your demonsurges going as well.
I'm doing this opener but then i can't sustain my damage. 950k-1m damage for single target with opener but then i'm down to 500k. I'm using my Fel Blade, Chaos Strike and Blade Dance after the opener. If i had sigil of flame and immo aura, i'm using my fel rush to inertia then chaos strike, blade dance too. When my eye beam up, im using my essence break with that. Sometimes I get completely confused while trying to avoid the hits of creatures during the dungeon :D. Openers is really easy but sustaining is really hard for me.
If you only want to stand still and smash rotation buttons havoc is just not for you my friends. There are plenty other specs in the game that you want havoc to be
@@TeMAC59 it's the only class in the game where you have to use mobility to do more damage, it could be interesting but in reality it's annoying. Not all class identity is good class identity, just because you are different doesn't mean it's good. Looking at wow's past it's possible that this stuff won't be part of dh at some point so some people can hope, don't tell them they shouldn't play dh if they don't like it, there are other reasons they like dh.
What I'm wondering is this. ON ST if you want to always have inertia buff for your EYE Beam and Essensce break combo you need to use the immo aura only before eye beam essence combo is that right ?
You mentioned a couple times that you want to use your second demonsurge proc on annihilation, but if you're going eyebeam > fel rush > death sweep > annihilation, isn't that only one demonsurge from the death sweep, since you're not getting it from fel rush? am i missing something?
Demonsurge only applies to specific abilities, not “your next 2 abilities”. Eye beam gives a demonsurge to the first time you press death sweep or annihilation within that demonic window
Solid vid as always! Question: This talent build ain't for M+ is it? Feel like it's hard dropping Ragefire in M+? Even though Demonsurge among our top dmg sources, the Ragefire build have just as many Demonsurge's as this build? Like for prio dmg i can see this being better sure.
@eiksman Man this is so true, I grt made fun of in my group for playing the "1hand" class. But it has one of the most complicated openers and rotation. Easy to play hard to master has never been more true for a class. Arcane mage is easier lol
I just play WoW very casually now so I thought, ah.. I'll try Demon Hunter. It's supposed to be very easy, everyone says it's for 'noobs' etc. I'll kick back and play that. Opener: 20 fucking steps before the 'normal priority'.
@@Sile yeah you got lied to. Sheep mentality in the community loves to state things when they have no real understanding of what they're talking about. DH hasn't been that basic class for beginners for a couple of expansions now. Maybe check out fury warrior mate. It's simple and great fun, it's just very fast paced so I hope you have strong hands!
Great video, Is it a significant DPS loss to cut Fel Rush out of the DPS rotation? Or for that matter, is there version of this that doesn't rely on it that still does competitive damage? Fel Rush feels so much better as a utility to dodge mechanics or get around quickly. Also, playing with DH's who use Fel Rush to DPS is kind of annoying cause they end up spreading debuffs around/hitting others with negative effects that have been placed on them... also when I use it, I find I almost always either endanger myself or overshoot enemies with it and have awkward positioning issues afterwards, or it feels like I'm losing time trying to pre-position myself so that it feels less bad after I use Fel Rush. I love the mobility the spec has, and using vengeful retreat/felblade or Vengeful Retreat into Meta feels pretty sweet. It's just Fel Rush that feels super sketchy to me.
@Jedithtv Thanks for the video, subscribed. The opener here matches wowhead guide but the rotation part doesn't match the APL listed on wowhead for fel scarred single target. Just wondering if the rotation mentioned here is optimal or the one on wowhead?
One thing that feels really odd is abyssal gaze not giving Demon surge for Death sweep and Annihilation. I dont know the numbers but it feels more worth to press it after Meta ends then inside it
By waiting for Meta to end, u loose out on the empowered Eyebeam (Abyssal Gaze), it's not Abyssal Gaze anymore if u exist the meta window, which makes u lose a Demonsurge proc. Not only that, the order is also tied to our Student of Suffering Buff, which you get when u cast Sigil of Flame / Doom. You do not want to miss out on casting Eyebeams during that buff window, Eyebeam hits really hard now unlike last expansion.
@@bojnebojnebojne you only get 1 demonsurge proc per ability, so the trick is to eyebeam, do the 2 empowered abilities, Meta, do the 5 empowered abilities and then wait for meta/demonform to end before you eyebeam again so you get another 2 demon surges. Due to the absolutely borked aoe of Eyebeam (it gets much worse even at 2 targets) the buffed damage from Abyssal Gaze is nowhere near what 2 demon surges can do. This means that Shattered Destiny is not worth taking which is super weird considering the hero spec is all about demonform.
@@Galrukh Well i'm talking about M+ not target dummy rotations. Not only do u lose out on the quite substantial mastery buff that Doom give you through the Fel-Scarred talent Student of Suffering, you also loose out on the dmg that he Student of Suffering buff gives the Demonsurge proc you would have gotten by using Abyssal Gaze within meta. So in with Jedith's stats, you lose out on roughly 30% extra dmg to both Demonsurge and Abyssal Gaze / Eyebeam dmg. ´Not only that, by waiting you are delaying seconds of which you could get another eyebeam in the future. Meaning Less casts over time = Less Demonsurges in total = less damage overall.
Mannnnn your going to get it nurfed when all the other demon hunter creators copy your video and word gets out 😂 I like your content btw you put out a lot of useful info 👍🏻
@jedith I tried this in a dungeon yesturday and my dmg was so bad 😅 I'm obvisouly are doing something really wrong, I guess I have to practise the rotation. Maybe you wanna make a video on it?
In my opinion it would be cool to: Return of talent "first of the illidari" as choice node with demonic New single target high dps ability costs max furry +cdr (similar to furry warrior rampage) as choice node with glaive tempest
These openers are ridiculous. With VR cancel macros into meta. How is this a normal rotation blizz? And 20 steps later we can play the game. Min/maxing is great but this is complicated af and is keeping me away from a spec I love. Everyone used to give us a hard time for being a 2 button rotation, but those comments came from people not playing and enjoying the spec. That didn’t mean you needed to change it into this monstrosity.
@@dariominiello9934 I can even deal with the bloat if it wasn’t for all the mini burst windows and the flipping backwards to get this buff to fel rush off a cliff to get this one. It’s just too many pieces to a puzzle stack on top of one another to make it fun anymore. I’m not saying it needs to be brain dead, but that’s a lot of plates to spin
Initiative is the only one that sucks because it’s a stupid backflip. But yea it’s so dumb to have 3 (4 if you count demonic) stacked 5-8s massive buffs where you need to fit your burst. Like missing 1 gcd makes you lose so much overall damage it’s nonsense.
@@Dras7 initiave and fell rush shouldn't be part of our rotation, it's movement abbilities to avoid raid or boss mechanics not to deal combat. That's my opinion at least.
Chaos theory is producing green bars either side of my character, I don't remember that happening before. Does anyone know how to get rid of them? It isn't a weakaura or something in elvui. AFAIK there is no mod that is causing it to exist.
I have a problem, I sims 650k 585 fel-s st inerzia, but on dummy I can’t even close to do that dmg, and I do all what you just say in video, in aoe(5 target dummy) fel-s sims 1,6mil but I sustain 1mil, confronting sims vs details all my spell are in a right order but do 20% less dmg on dummy details that sims says es…annihilation sims 288k average but on details it’s 130k and so on for almost all spell, I don’t understand how I can improve it if all spell are in right order (details vs sims) means I’m doing a pretty decent rotation so I’m in trouble
I sims on //5 pack dummy //3 min (no lust//no raid buff) // 1,47 but in live I do 1,1 mil dps……just to know when you (or someone who want to help me) have time can pls go on 5 pack dummy at city and try ~3min dps, so if you do ~1,1 mil I know sims are wrong , if you do 1,5 mil I know I’m wrong….right now I have no idea how to improve myself really helps me thx you all
@@JJvGBeats guy i play since vanilla, i know all the basic stuff, i dont sims with buff or lust i dont compare hc item i know how to read sim etc…i really appreciate all of yours suggestion, im just curious if some of you can do almost same dmg he sims on real dummy because no matter how hard I try i cant, simple as that
if that stat prio is right then its a problem. its always gonna be bad if an secondary stat is better then main stat(Agillity). we saw this problem in legion and very cringe to use 20, 40 or even 50 ilvls lower gear just cus it has main stat mastery. mark my words this is the next complaint for demon hunters if its true
