I have a similar setup to the atrium-Elise-gd rtr dac and couldn't agree more with your assessment. My verite open-pontus rtr-euforia is nothing short of stunning. I've had a lot of stuff over the last 10 years and I'm endgame with this setup. The zmfs with quality otl and good rtr is a can't miss recipe. Huge soundstage. Pin point imaging. Details. Punch. Absolutely zero fatigue. Spooky good vocals. I've had this rig for a couple years, not new toy bliss, and it still stuns me at times. Zmf otl rtr. Perfect match.

Great review! I have an Atrium Closed and have been thinking about jumping into the OTL game. Listening to this review makes me think I've never even heard it at its best even though it is my favorite. I see an Elise in my future in a few months

Amos Barnet’s review was one source I considered before buying this DAC for my Susvara and to my ears it has what it takes to drive those fantastic headphones. For all its options though, it lacks XBass and XSpace which are two of iFi’s signature features. If you want those in a matching busy-box, you have to get the more powerful ICan Pro Signature which I resisted doing for the longest time because of the two archaic looking, blackholes on the front, and I don’t mean the XLR in the middle. Anyways, with all those bells and whistles, including the tubes on each device, you can certainly do a lot of interesting things with the sound. BTW, I plugged the blackholes on the I can with 1/4” adapters which are now used for other headphones.

I've watched and rewatched the review, and from what I understand, the Elise is slightly better (overall) than the Echo. But between the two, which one is better for jazz? Which one reproduces vocals in a warmer and more realistic manner? (By the way, congratulations on the channel and the Facebook group, you're my favorite reviewer!)

Great review, I'm very interested in this amp for my Sennheiser HD600, HD800s and ZMF Aeolus with RME ADI-2 DAC.

Just copped this amp for £830 from the 'Bay - heavenly. I thought my Atriums would be the star of the show but the Arya Stealth, HEKv2 and D8000 are even more of a shocking improvement though there can be song-dependent bass distortion on HEKV2. What a difference! Especially after scolding myself for being greedy and toddler-grasping the amp.

Great video! I love that amp, but way too expensive for me. Up here in Canada, that would be closer to $3K than $2K, landed. But a man can dream. :-)

Hope the BP heals up quick. There's been a rash of it the past couple of years for some reason.

If you ever had opportunity to try ADX5000 on nice tube amp, do try it Will. Those 420 Ohm headphones are made for tubes, transparent sound that surround you like on the stage with exceptional details and tight bass. Probably you would need Utopia or Susvara to match that clarity and detail, even if so they are not high impedance to really match tubes at fullest.

I have an important question, can tube amplifiers play well with Hifiman Ananda?...

Is this enough to drive the susvara?
