Haha! I have it and I've never had issues with it. The 'stock' tubes they sell with it are just bad sometimes I think.

I have the DArkvoice and am thinking of upgrading to this design. The Feliks Elise seems to be hand in hand the same as the Darkvoice as far as tubes used so that would save me huge!

I liked the Euphoria when I briefly tried it at CanJam. I don't know how it would do with the Hifiman planar though. For that, I seemed to prefer solid states. Should be lovely with the HD800S though.

Thanks for the quick response. Im ussing a lyr 3 with a built in multibit module. Seems to work pretty well with planars. My issue is I feel that my hd800S are held back by my dac and amp. If I were to just purchase this amp for only the hd800S I might lean toward the Elise since it is warmer sounding. Also I can't decide on a bifrost multibit or gungnir multibit(wasting balanced outputs) since I will only use single ended. Any advise would be much appreciated. Thank you sir.

@@aornic seems like the price of a euphoria is over 2800 with tax in the usa... because of that I am also considering an auris and the dragon iha-1 amp for my hd800S. What would you get?

Elise it's not ok with HD800.

Get Elise and Ares II, with HD800S you want tubes and warm, since it's high impedance Sennheiser and it's on the bright side. Sounded also incredible with Woo WA2.

John Smith primarily purchased this for my 300 ohm ZMF Eikon and Atticus. The Utopia sounding good was a nice bonus.

Now I've read your review on headfi and it seems you didn't even know this had a high output z before purchase. Cool.

Well, btw... this 1/8 thing is nonsense, it's some general recommendation. I have no clue how exactly it works, but I can tell you from experience that for example Focal Clear, which is 50ohm, plugged into Elise sounds incredible, and bass is as tight as if you plug it into solid state with 0.1 ohm output impedance, so ... I'd say, forget about this "rule". I had issue with Woo Audio WA2, with that one, there is clearly huge damping issue when paired with Clears, bass gets bloated and loose, it's just no-go, while Elise is no problems at all. Both OTL, both high output impedance. There is some other trickery going on.

Poli Tehnist no. I sold the Elise. I'm just saying that a lot of people on audio forums seem to like the t1 and Elise pairing.

dumb arse definitely wanted to try those but couldn't budget them. £250 a pair on eBay.

I used to have a few Woo and DV OTL's and the tungsols were the best in those. That was 5 years ago and they were already becoming scarce. Its a shame. A really nice full dynamic sound to them
