Well, there is biological affects that comes standard with getting older though I empathize with your desire to be positive and feel the enthusiasm of your youth.
I was 16, in France, started spinning on tapes!!! Now, 46, retired from DJ and in the US. This track is one of the ones that made me choose my career. 🥺
Same here my friend! I'll be 46 this month. I remember i heard this song first time in my brother's grocery shop in Hungary around '93. It suddenly became one of my favourite song of all time. There is a cool interview with Felix from muzikxpress.
Those who are now around 50, had the last real music revolution - House. Thank god I lived through this era. The feeling I get when I hear Classic House music - takes me back to being 17 - 25 and the greatest times with fantastic people. I live my love of House music in the kitchen or my office these days. But close my eyes and I'm back there in the clubs without a care in the world!
Hoje eu tenho 53 anos, e sempre escuto Flash House, no carro, em casa. Voltou lá atrás quando eu tinha meus 16 anos. Quem curtiu, curtiu. Era uma época muito boa, sensacional. Sem comentários.
Sorry, but you're wrong! "Those who are around 50', meaning what? 47 to 53yrs old? That's missing the early, really good shit! And this is not 'House'! Did you never rave, when it was 'supposedly illegal'?
I was 12 years old and this legendary track introduced me to the beautiful world of electronic music for 30 years until now, and for sure, until the last day of my life !
I swear I really think these memories of these songs reminding me of when I was a kid in the 90s are going to kill me sooner or later. Give me back my youth damn it I have done nothing wrong to be 46 in 2024 :/
I am a fan of electronic music from the early 90's, but let's face it. Nobody has come even close to this vibe. Still gives me the same feeling as back in the day. Dance music forever. 💪
There are songs that you know will be classics the first time you hear them. They're just heads and tales above everything else and bring out so much emotion in you. This is one of them.
27 years later (was 14 that time) still gives me goose bumps!! That days I watched on MTV Europe "Felix" and "USURA - Open your mind", these two songs really impregnated me with nice Tecno. Now 2019 I mostly listen Bhajans and Raagas und go dance to Minimal Electro with 41 years :D
I was about 12 or 13 when I heard this first, don’t where, probably ITV’s Chart Show on a Saturday morning or something. But along with things like Alter8 E-vapor8, Prodigy Charlie, SL2, Nomad - Devotion and stuff like that, they were those tunes that got me switched onto dance music. The 90’s, particularly the first half were golden years for dance music.
I agree it's a good song but i think there's still a lot of good edm being released today!! I recommend Virtual Self, partiboi69 and Brutalismus 3000 for example
I heard this on BBC Radio 2 on Friday whilst I was driving... had it rather loud. Sounded bloody awesome and didn't care if passers by heard a 50 year old man blasting this out.
Ah, 1992; the year I can barely remember, but the one will never forget!! Fell in love with this song & video (for obvious reasons!!); rushed out and bought his CD, #1; Francis Wright, you're a f***ing GENIUS!! I luv ya!!. Peace, love & keep dancin'!!!
I remember hearing this when I was a little kid and falling in love with it straight away. I remember the days of having my own rave, joining in with my Mum dancing in the living room to other greats like this. Sends chills down my spine.

So sorry to hear that. But I agree with you, when times are tough, this kind of music from my younger years (I'm 50 now) is a great support. Any music in fact, depending on my mood. Take care!
Ich war damals 18j bei dem Lied, als es raus kam... Was haben wir damals abgefeiert... Ich kann sagen, ich war dabei... In der hoch Zeit von Electric - Music... 🎉🎉🎉
I am proud to be a part of the generation who listened to this track from different medias peaking at that time. Cassette in early 90s. Mp3 in late 90s and now streaming live from the internet. I am the witness how fast technology developed and changed.
timeless! we were also part of a movement of music and people; wouldn`t swap my history for anything else! sony owns this? would have been awesome on a Wipeout!!!
I was 18 when this was released. I remember as I walked into a field and heard this track blasting from a marquee, the hairs on my arms and neck stood up. You never forget your first love.
Remember seeing this video at a nightclub in the city I was born and raised in back in 1993 when I was 18. I have not seen this in years. Still holds up well. It makes me want to get up and dance.
I saw Felix play this live on NYE at one of the 'Welcome' parties in Sydney. And yeah, the crowd went off. We chilled out the next morning by swimming at the beach. Good times.
Brilliant soundtrack . I love when she sings “Don’t you want my love” and then the musical backing crescendo is absolutely superb! Classically unique and totally different to the other tracks of that era which was at the end of the renaissance period of music 60s to 90s. Anything after this period the artists bar Madonna the Queen of Music any gem tracks are far and few between.
So much time! I am 21, one day I will say the same things for all the music i heared in my youth. I really don't like much this music, is... strange, like it is too much out of our world, but I can understand your feeling like "this is the future, this is the next gen thing that let behind the old". Well, I really don't know if you thought like that at the time of this music, but I think the actual generations and the next will be more and more progressive, the past will be a memory just to know what we are and our thoughts will be focused on the present and the future. Maybe that piano is good, but in the end it feels to me like a party of aliens in my chest when i am going at light speed in to another dark and empty dimension where I will be lost forever, I like my world and I think I want to die in it (sorry for my bad english, i wish you could understand me in all I said)
Mind blowing Felix track.. sweated myself out on many a dance floor to this, now still feel the urge to get up and sweat it out all over again.. but me knees scream... 'noooo!'
Earlier memories of being on holiday visiting my family and driving through Romford Essex, with my oldest brother behind the wheel of my dad's car blasting this tune. I was 10 years old at the time and screaming my head off out the window, with a very strong Scottish accent while my cousin's from Essex laughed their heads off. The good old times !
