Man I've missed your walkthroughs Ken, and really been wanting to see someone cover Felix the Cat for years!!! I'm also really impressed as it's one of the few NES platform games that properly scrolls in eight directions! Could you ever look at James Bond Jr on the NES some time too? Criminally overlooked game!
Dont know if you guys gives a shit but if you're bored like me atm then you can stream pretty much all the latest series on instaflixxer. Have been binge watching with my brother these days =)
I remember the Felix the cat movie saw it when I was nine in 1993 rented it on VHS from my library remember this NES game as well rented from a video store in riverside ri when I was nine in 1993
I bought this game at a thrift store for $1 back in '13. It's one of my favorite action games but a few of the levels can get really tough! This game was also developed by the same company who made Bonk's Adventure.
There was one thing you didn't mention: There are icons of the Professor's face scattered throughout the levels. There are some that you can actually hit a number of times and they can spit out the magic ball.
Awesome review man. I loved the voice of the mad scientist in the cartoons. That green monster you called Plankton is actually a bacteria called Gulpo, King of the Blobs and he's addicted to smoking cigars.
I've played the game on Game Boy Advance and loved it. From what I gather, you get "top-up" potions every five cat's heads you collect and an upgrade every ten and if you get hit while you're upgraded, you simply drop back a level, but if you get hit while you're just a walking cat, you lose a life. You also lose a life if you fall into water or into a pit or if you run out of time, regardless of what stage of upgrade you're at
amazing review and walkthrough as always Aqua. i never heard of, saw, or played this as a kid so i'm guessing its one of those rare obscure titles in the nes library.. shame too cause by the looks of it i would have loved the game.
The icons are mandatory in the space stage because you need to keep your magic level up, or else you'll die! Also, the level is tough because it's a one hit death!
This seems like a surprisingly fleshed out game for a character of such dubious notability as Felix the cat. I never really liked the character, but my experiences are limited to the 90s cartoon series.
It be three week already. Finally, you review something about it. Anyway, I don't blame you for so much delay. By the way, this is one of my favourite show during my childhood. However, the game does not.
I watch reviews on games I'd never play myself. In some cases the reviews are better than the game. That's a compliment to Aqualung more than an insult to the games btw.
One of the most overlooked NES games, it's definitely one of the most fun games to play on the NES. Basically a complete rip off of Mario, the game pulls it off well.
