@@pr_tr4p_g4wd20 cause they saw Oscar winning the first rounds, and Tito Winning the later rounds, my eyes is that Tito won more rounds and won that fight, it's always in boxing that Mexicans from Mexico would say Oscar won, but me I'm Borticua, even if Tito loss I would say it but Tito won that fight and the best fighter coming out of Puerto Rico, when he was fighting it was huge.
I always found it remarkable the way he consistently gets up from being knocked down and gets up with avengence. I can't think of many fighters who can do this...
nope this trinidad is a dirty boxer, he hits low blow intentionally when he is in trouble, Oscar gets 4x of low blow.. never respect a guy who just do illegal things just to win.
@@paulanthony5274 Yea, but Fury has been knocked down by men who are basically in a different weight category to him by being physically smaller. I can't take the modern heavy weight division seriously when fighters have such a huge advantage or disadvantage.
Fernando Jr agreed dude was a beast I was an still am a massive fan but it pains mean to say it even tho I was a was Oscar fan to and he got a few bad decisions his way but he beat Tito fair a square he back peddled/coasted the final rounds because for real he thought he was in a comfortable lead which he was but not by this blind ass judges no wonder the man dresses in female underwear and hoovers the yayo dides fucked him over big time same with the moesely fight
Because tito last fight with roy and because of the hate of the bhop fight with the wraps. When margacheato got caught everyone said tito was cheating too. Also when tito was inducted into the hall of fame , William joppy said he didn't deserve to be there. Also tito ended up becoming broke. Does that answer your question of why he isn't mentioned. Alot of questions regarding tito. How does he not have $$. Did tito cheat? What cotto just became a 4x champion. First Puerto Rican to do that. Why cotto got money but tito doesn't. You get it now.
Brian Ticas Tito’s current net worth is 30million ,he is definitely not broke although don king robbed him just like all his other fighters .., the wraps was extra tape not illegal anywhere else , what Margaritio had was plaster of Paris (concrete)... Tito is undefeated at 147 & 154 ... personally I think he had no business going to 160
@@brianticas7671 TITO DID SOME INVESTMENTS WITH A BANK IN P.R, AND LOST A LOT OF MONEY THE CASE IS STILL ON COURT ..ABOUT JOPPY ..HE STILL BUTT HURT...COME ON MAN ...TITO NEVER CHEAT...THE RIVAL CORNER MAN IS THERE WHEN THE WRAP IS PUT...ON THE HAND ...AND A COMMISI9NER HAVE TO SIGN IT...STOP THE LIE
I still remember whenever this Man Fought Puerto Rico Stopped. Thanks to him and Miguel I fell in love with the sport of boxing and made every kid from PR that ever laced them up want to be like Tito or MC.A great human being Salute to you Rummy this one means a lot !
todavia quiero decir que Richard steele es mal arbitro quita puntos por golpes bajos sin avisar y el golpe noser agrede el otro que es otro baboso es shirld una vez le tiraron con el banco de sentarse por pend
He’d do so serious reconstructive surgery to a mans jaw. Imagine getting sucker punched “left hook” turn into it without you even knowing it was about to happen I reckon for sure his jaw and teeth would be smashed and busted the bits man be even his neck his neck be fucked to man dudes that braced themselves still couldn’t deal with it so I’m not even playing if it was a sucker 🤜 punch an unexpected average dude getting mollywhopped from Trinidad may very well not wake legit and if he did wake up he’s waking to some baaaaad news from the doctors facts!!!!
@@obiem9319 Mayweathers career started at feather weight. His a small guy. You understand why they have weight class lol. He made it all the way to junior middle weight though.
That's an insult to Tito. Tito ko'd good fighters and beat a lot of good fighters. Julian Jackson and Gerald McClellan are crazy overrated they beat nothing but bums. Tito is levels above both of those overrated nothings.
Joppy had beaten an old Roberto Duran to a pulp unnecesarily. I always had the feeling that with every punch from Tito you could hear him say "Duran"! Tito and Alexis Argüello were always my favorite fighters
Tito’s 100% the reason why I got into boxing. 5-0 as of now. I have the cover of The Ring magazine with him and his 37-0 record on the cover hanging on my personal gym. That’s what I’m chasing. The man will forever be a legend in PR, and someone I’ll never stop looking up to. Great video as always, Rummy.
Fue muy bueno, pero aunque odio y detesto al traidor de oscar de la hoya por apoyar a los estados unidos, para mi y para muchos oscar merecio esa victoria ante Trinidad, aunque me alegre cuando gano Tito.
@@brianticas7671 - I don’t know about that bro. Shane was at his best at lightweight and Tito was a monster from 147 to 154. I think Trinidad would’ve beat Mosley. Shane was too easy to hit
Grew up watching him fight. Some of these highlights I remember like it was yesterday. Tito was my fav by far, I still remember run around my house screaming with joy when the decision over DLH was announced. And the Vargas-Trinidad fight is still my favorite fight ever, prob lost years off my life from stress watching that haha! Tito was the GOAT, doesn’t get enough respect now a days... guy was one of the best ever.
James Woolery controversial decision, it was a very close affair and could’ve gone either way. Maybe a draw would’ve been appropriate but It wasn’t a robbery by no means.
James Woolery Debatable. Oscar had a lead that he threw away in the latter rounds. Did he do enough? Possibly. But while he landed a lot of flashy shots, Trinidad’s blows were harder and more damaging. Could have gone either way imo.
Legendary performance! The last fight is like the last page, the end in a great book! We knew its coming, but we love the whole story from start to the end!
And 9/11....Unknown to many boxing fans, Trinidad couldn’t train after NYC was shutdown due to attack. The Trinidads couldn’t fly to PR, or anywhere, as they stayed around Ground Zero and did the humanitarian thing. Trinidad was often seen by NYPD & PAPD handing out food and water to 1st responders. Decades later, people are still dying from breathing in all the cancerous fumes that eminated from the rubble. It was a bad decision to take the fight in the weeks following 9/11. Also of note, Don King was rushing the Sept. date, because MSG was booked throughout the year due to Knicks, Ranger games and concerts at MSG. Barclays wasn’t built at that time. There’s a reason Tito waned physically down the stretch. Many believe it was due to his work at Ground Zero. A noble gesture however you cheered for these two combatants.
Mr. Rummy Ciani (writer, narrator, producer) : Thanks for your super excellent historical video. Tito Trinidad belongs in the 25 BEST BOXERS OF ALL TIME.
tito trinindad and lennox lewis were my favorite fighters of my teenage years and of all time. tito didn't have much respect after he retired from casual fans. real fans loved him and respected him. its good to see rummy's subscribers understand boxing and respect tito for what he did. he was so entertaining to watch. he was considered brittle and easy to move around and knockdown. then just get stronger and stronger as the fight went on. his accuracy, technique and punching power dismantled opponents. he ended a lot of careers. head and body attack with accuracy and perfect punch placement. like a Mexican fighter. tito was a brutal and fearless fighter. he struggled with high IQ fighters who move like Oscar, Hopkins, and winky. he's one of those fighters where its "you just had to be there" to understand his greatness. reminds me of nigel benn. underrated but you had to be there to understand what a gladiator these two were. anyways so glad the boxing world respects him.
A lot of people say that. I sometimes agree. But he was a title holder. And if you are gonna be a true Champ. Then the training wheels gotta come off. And you gotta fight the best. He had heart though. In today's boxing game, a fighter in his position would not get in their with a Trinidad at that stage of their career.
Vargas ya había peleado con Raúl Márquez, Winkly Wright y Ike Quartey antes q con Tito, así es q estaba más q preparado, simplemente Tito era una Bestia en 147 y 154, ya en 160 era muy débil
Dude was a beast. the last PPV fight I brought, Trinidad vs Vargas that fight would turn anyone into a boxing fan..bazooka Gomez was also one of my favorite. Thanks for the video brother. ✔
Wilfredo "Bazooka" Gomez is my all time Puerto Rican fighter. He had devastating power with great boxing technic & speed. He holds the record for title defenses by KO for all divisions with 17. He was ranked number 13 on the Ring Magazine list of the 100 greatest punchers of all time.
I like Tito, but that's a stretch. He could get easily outboxed and didnt have the sturdiest chin, he went down alot. If you tried to hook with him tho, you were dead meat. But guys like Oscar, Hopkins and winky who all knew how to use good lateral movement gave him problems.
Trinidad was a cheat read my comment I just left💯 yeah and I'm a former 2 Time World Champion so I have no need to hate I did my own thing real is real👍🥊
You seen Gatti ward one or Hagler Hearns? Holmes Norton good fight or foreman Lyle or any of Bert Cooper's big fights.Benn Mclellan, tragic outcome, great fight..Maybe you could recommend some?
I'm too young to have followed Trinidad's career IRL, but I never realized quite how many title fights he had at 147. I was really only aware of the Whitaker and De La Hoya fights. Thanks for another quality video and learning experience.
Just wanted to say this series is by far my favorite I always appreciate watching these videos you make Rummy THANK YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK I have no idea how this channel doesn't have the type of recognition and viewership it deserve
That fight should've been stopped a minute and a half earlier. Jay Nady basically ruined Vargas' career by letting him fight until he was almost dead. SMH.
Wasn't that the same ref who a few months earlier stopped the zab Judah kostya Tszyu bout without giving Judah the benefit of a count? Typical of a ref to get shit for stopping a fight too soon then letting them go on too long later in fights.
I am Puerto Rican and very proud of Trinidad. I remember when I was a kid and my whole family had a major gathering/party for the De la Hoya fight. The whole island went nuts that night.
ArthurV .. let’s get real, even though Oscar ran away the last four rounds Oscar won the fight decisively. Oscars runaway attitude cause he thought he was so far ahead was quite disappointing though.
Yes!! That would be awesome. He made a video about him together with the other 3 greats, but he deserves his own video. I always loved how he measured his distance so perfectly with that long reach.
I've been non stop promoting you at work and to all my boxing and non boxing friends you make it very easy for newer people to the sport to get a good grasp of the history. I also live the fact when you are breaking down a fighter you also let us know what is happening in the division at the time and the feel for fighters at the time really really good insights
@@brianticas7671 LMAO! ! "Tito has a slight chance" Tommy's Chin FAILED in his BIGGEST FIGHTS! Leonard and Hagler. TOE to TOE! BLOW for BLOW! Felix Trinidad was a MONSTER. Stopping fighters who have never been stopped before and were never the same afterwards Campas at 47, Vargas at 54, Joppy at 60...........facts! Tito could KO Tommy in at 47, 54 and 60!
Awesome vid like always.I hope the next will be Bernard Hopkins...this guy is probably the most underrated champion ever. He have fought the best for 20 years.
felix trinidad was my favorite puerto rican boxer of all time, (until cotto came around) but as i got older i start calling tito one of the best hard punching low blow fighter from puerto rico, guys hit like a heavy weight and does so much low blow when things dont go his way
This dude put asses in seats every time he fought. Dramatic finishes and late round comebacks defined his career. That lethal right hand was so long and accurate.
As alway Rummy, a magnificent round up of one of the best. And to the one and only "bum" at this time who had disliked this vid, go watch something else mate as you obviously know nothing about Boxing.....
I remember when this young man came to our attention This young man I remember he fought at the Olympics He was so amazing, to see he's hand speed ,and to see he's people in big support for him ,is true to his record Remember he was only defeated once And was around for a while in all three division Thanks for the walk down memory lane I use to get so excited when he was in the ring ,so classy and no b.s. very under rated All the way from Australia thanks once again R.C
Many boxers underestimated Tito because of his skinny frail looking body, but soon realized that those skinny arms of his were dynamite. His excellent balance at all times reminds me of the late great Salvador Sanchez. Thank you for sharing!!
