Just finished binge watching the playlist thus far. Have been following your build with great interest. Such high quality videos and even higher quality craftsmanship. You make the build look so easy! Have nearly convinced me I should give one a go myself 😂 keep up the superb work!

Looking good. Are you worried about the wear using brass over bronze as a bearing surface? I guess a lot of it comes down to how much you plan on running it also. And the cost of Bronze

Now you mentioned it I am. It would be nice not to have to revisit them any time soon so I’m thinking the actual axle boxes could be bronze as that’s the part that would get the most wear? I think I have a piece of bronze that will work for it otherwise a pressed in bronze bushing should work right?

SS Workshop I would think what ever is the easiest without having to rebuild something. My Blackmore vale has steel axle boxes and horn blocks but has bronze bushings pressed in for the axles. You could always work with what you have got if needed and once running see how it goes for a year and then swap out the parts to bronze then depending on the wear.

Thanks, it would certainly be easier now than later given my axle boxes are one piece so think it would be worth the effort.

SS Workshop I feel bad now as what you built looked great. 🙂 I guess you can just say that was version 1.0. Version 1.1 coming soon.

I think kormax in palmy is still operating if you need more bronze via the courier.
