WHEN YOU ARE DROPPING TREES IS IS IMPORTANT FOR THE NEXT PERSONAL TO TOUCH THEMM THAT THEY ARE NOT CRISS CROSSED ALL OVER , I TALK AND IMPLY A 'DUTCHMAN IN THIS VIDEO AS WELL
I've been on your channel since around 1.700 subscribers, and still every time I feel less then good I come here, and it takes about 5 minutes of watching your enthousiasm ... and I'm all set ready to go! #best_yt_channel_ever !
I really do appreciate that you don't curse and swear on your channel. My boy and I love chainsaws and love watching your content. Thanks a lot, and keep up the great videos!!!
I was sent to cut some trees for a trail clearing at my job and the dozer operator had experience as a timber feller. 3 bad trees and he said let me show you something. He used a swinging dutchman as a bullet to domino them all together but he wouldn't explain how it worked. That is why I mean it when I say THANK YOU Buckin for just being you. You are a good man who truly wants to help his neighbors
Just found the channel. I love what I see. I like your approach to the task at hand. Itis clear you love what you do. Felling trees and hanging with us on youtube. You do both effortlessly. Thank you forthe great videos.
Hello friends and welcome new subs. Another great video. You are a very humble man Buckin, someone who inspires me and I am sure many others. Be kind !
Buckin, i know you say not to use the Dutchman, but... I did after watching this one. On a few 6 inch aspens. It worked so well! i was able to steer them around a shed like nothin! thanks for the tips!
BUCKIN, BEEN WATCHIN YOU FOR LONG TIME NOW, THIS IS MY FIRST COMMENT. I love your style, love the info, and the happiness and joy-fun you bring. Makes guys like me realize how good us loggers, tree guys, arborist etc. have it.haha So I started going threw' the hundreds of videos ive got. Started editing them and plan on putting them on here. I been in the woods since I could remember, started running a saw and brush hoggin' bout 10. I LEARNED ALOT BY READING BOOKS MY OLD' MAN HAD,USUALLY WRITTEN BY OLD LOGGERS, AND GUYS FROM OUT YOUR WOODS, ON ALL THE CUTS, RIGGINF ETC. AND JUST WATCHING HIM CUT.AND I LEARNED BY JUST GETTIN OUT THERE AND DOIN IT. Been 20 years, and im in the tree service. OUT HERE ON THE EAST COAST. I seen you had some maple to split there. AND MAYBE YOU CAN APPLY MY HARDWOOD SPLITTIN TRICK VIDEO I MADE. give er' a try next time you got some dense hardwood, or even any Big logs etc... Just take saw after you cut firewood length, and rip(WHEN ITS LAY'D DOWN, BARK UP) GO a 1/4, or 1/3, OR ALL WAY, then WACK WITH A MAUL, AXE. Sometimes you don't have to split them. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zN9d9307QB0.html LETME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK ON THIS, AS I LEARNED THIS ON MY OWN YEARS AGO.(THOU ITS NOTHING NEW, BUT NO ONE EVER SHOWED ME) thanks buckin'. keep on cutting... ps. (been getting the gullets since 97)haha.. Wildman-herdman, over-out..
A wizard with the trees you are. You also have amazing talent and showmanship for this RU-vid thing. Your character and kindness shine but how you maintain the conversation with the viewer and stay in the frame....while doing a highly skilled and dangerous job...love this channel. It’s great. Thanks.
I found your channel a couple of days ago, i don't know, I'm dropping around 40+ eucalyptus atm out the back of my house, it's fire season see and I want a fire break between the bush and the house ( i live in Australia), so I guess I was in the mood for watching someone fell wood, trying to educate myself, it never hurts. Since then, I've watched countless videos, sat up to 3-4am most nights just watching video, after video of you felling wood. I can't get enough. The message of love you talk about, your words of widsdom, the genuine human being you're...thank you Buckin, for the peace you give me through your work. I don't know what it is but this channel is a blessing!
See, this is what I love about your channel. Every chance I get to knock down a tree or two I have a new technique to try out or a new way to look at solving the riddle of getting the tree down safely all because you take the time to explain the process and the pros and cons of it. Loving the channel Sir.
You just can’t put a price on happiness...which you obviously are an expert on👍 you’re an inspiration to so many people that need the extra push to take on the goals they just weren’t sure if they should. Love to you and the family❤️
Love your enthusiasm! I work at a computer all day at home for my own business and have been clearing land around our house during spare time. Can't beat being outdoors in fresh air, even when it's cold. I'm no professional, just started clearing the smaller ones first and gaining knowledge and a sense of how to approach each tree. Learning a lot from you, keep up the fantastic work and enjoy!
when I was 14 I cut beech wood in Tennessee don't think my dad new any kind of cuts and I would cut straight through the beech I done a lot running from trees now I got logging school on youtube thanks
I dont get to fall a lot of trees. Heck, im lucky to be able to pull stuff out of slash piles for fire wood. Buckin, you are awesome. You have a way about you the brings your audience into the bush with you and makes them feel like they are a part of it. Thank you for all that you do and including us in your life. Be safe and God speed.

Hey Billy , really like your videos . I run a small horse logging business in norther WI. I do some of the same work you just showed and also love my job. Been doing this since I was 13. I quit school and was sawing for my Dad, I am now going on 44.. I do not think I am suited for any thing else at this point . Keep them coming man and be safe out there .
Watching a Artist do what he loves to do is great Edutainment. Finding something that you really loved helped you in life. Wish everyone would be so lucky, sadly few are. I did the same type of work for 35 years, but since I loved doing it, I feel like I never actually had a job. It also could of went real bad for me, but I found the perfect job...I was one of the lucky ones, like yourself.
I think the thing I like about this channel the most is that you arent afraid to tell us how you feel!!! You speak your mind and throw it out for us all to see and hear!!!! Thats hard for a lot of us to do!!!! its starting to work for me and I hope it is for alot of folks!! Thanks!!!!
Great job as usual. You made me nervous pushing your bar near the wire fencing behind the chicken coop. There is a video someplace of a guy on a home improvement show cutting a stump and some roots away from a bank to make room for a retaining wall and the end of the bar got into some fencing he didn't see. It kicked back into his collar bone area and nearly took his head off. Stay safe and keep it up!
Thanks Billy , for showing about the Dutchman ! And it's uses for fallin , I asked you why you were concerned about them when you were cutting , and would say no Dutchmans ! So I looked all over u-tube and couldn't find it , so thanks again ,Joe
Another awesome job buckin. You are an artist when it comes to falling timber. Weather it be little trees to monster old growth I'm still amazed how you make it look so easy. Welcome to all new subscribers and soldiers of kindness.
This is exactly why I watch you! Your a good teacher and the best logger I don't waste my time with other channels! Keep them coming man your a legend!
You earned my sub here friend...I'm just like you were saying at the end of this video....i refuse to work for the man anymore...I'm my own boss now and I'm trying to get my own tree service up and running...it's slow going but it's the best job in the world.....stay safe and expect me to be binge watching your videos....thanks
Excellent video Buckin'! You bring a huge smile to my face every time. I agree, your channel is - what did you call it edutainment? That is so true! Learn while you are entertained. Excellent way to learn something! Stay safe friend!
Buckin'.....just taking one day at a time and trying to keep from catching the flu. Pretty much staying inside and enjoying your vids! Give my love to the family and pet Chester and Chica for me. Loving the content, brother.
I've struggled with sharpening my chains, pretty much my whole life....until I went to an electric sharpener but, as you know...them dang things eat up teeth too fast to keep track!! Nothin is better than hand filing.....but again, I always struggled with it....getting a wicked sharp chain...and then I watched you.....I've watched a bunch of others....and it didn't change a thing. But YOU Billy.....YOU do it just the way it should be!! I used your video....hit my chains today and HOLY CANOLLI!! BETTER than factory sharp!! Now....I want to know loggin....I watch only you..thanks brother!!! You should have a patent on this stuff!! A++++++++!!
Been working a lot lately with the snow ice and cold over in maine this winter. Haven't been able to keep up with the videos as much as i would like. Glad i spent some time this morning with ya Buckin! Glad you talked about the dutchman, such a mystery to me before this. Wont be using it, but i appreciate the history. Thanks and Be Well Everyone
Thanks a million for answering my dutchy question buckin you are a legend. I was finding it difficult to get my head around them A1 now thanks buckin. Keep it real all thanks from Ireland
Nicely done from the dutchmasters to laying out the cigars all in a box. If a have a rather earthy looking tool, I put several wraps of a colored electrical tape around parts that I don't handle so that I can find it when it's laying right in front of me.
🏁🥇🎉🍻🍾...Welcome to all the new subs, ...How darn lucky are we ? Most times you have some time away to find a channel that you subscribed to might have posted one vid. What a cool video. Never saw this one. Just you out there among some alders having fun in a low pressure situation, so you start playing with the cuts, seeing what you can make do what. When you laid those last four down side by side, man...its a pleasure watching a gifted faller. And I get it, the guy told you you could break it but you just had to try not to. I get it. Once a customer told me I could drop a black walnut on a cow fence, it was old and they weren't worried about it but I just had to try so I ended up taking the rounds from the tree I'd just cut down next to it, and built a little altar of logs in front of the fence directly in line with where I wanted to lay it down. Just a single little stack of logs, single row, about two feet wide and about 4 feet high, just about 6 inches above the top of the fence. I used a single 6 ton jack and wedges to put it over against the lean (house behind me) towards the fence and the little altar of logs. It sat gently right down on it, never even pressed down on the fence. (videos on my channel) Client was impressed but didn't win me anything extra. Just something I had to do. Any way you probably wont' see this because this video is two years old but love watching your videos, you're one of the best natural fallers I've seen and I learn things and look at things from different ways from watching you. I'd call you an Axman but you're more than that I think. You're a true Woodsman. Thanks for all you do.
I've watched several dozen of youre vids, but I just realized I never had subed. So I just did! Things I've learned from you helped me out k out a handle today to rehang a double bit that was my dads!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
I'm glad you found your axe buckin! You dont want to leave that you hand made that axe my friend! I love watchin your channel . It motivates me to keep going and follow your dreams!
I totally agree with you, BBR! BC is unbelievable beautiful. Been just from S. Burnaby to Harrison Hot Springs, Squamish, Whistler, Tofino, Nanaimo, Strathcona Provincial Park Lodge, White Rock, Spuzzum (smallest town in the world) and one or two other places - just great. And as to the video - still learning! Thankful for your channel and all the people on it.
Hi good buddy, I’m new to watching your channel and subscribing . I have been catching up on loads of your old videos and I have got to say I have also learnt a lot, so thank you. Loving what you do with all your axes, just wonderful. Take care, be good and best wishes to all your subscribers. Graham, Nottingham, England🇬🇧🇬🇧

Such a great cutting vid. my friend, when you made that tree move forward a totally different direction of what nature had planned totally convinced me your'e the tree whisperer, I kid you not ..You have shown thing's I would never think possible,a true professional for sure..What a great start to the weekend friend's,An excellent video that shall be in the archives for all to enjoy..Have a safe and pleasurable weekend friend's..Make a person Smile..
Clear away dirt, debris, small tree limbs and rocks from the saw's chain path. Look for nails, spikes or other metal in the tree before cutting. Shut off the saw or engage its chain brake when carrying the saw on rough or uneven terrain. Keep your hands on the saw's handles, and maintain secure footing while operating the saw. Proper personal protective equipment must be worn when operating the saw, which includes hand, foot, leg, eye, face, hearing and head protection. Do not wear loose-fitting clothing. Be careful that the trunk or tree limbs will not bind against the saw. Watch for branches under tension, they may spring out when cut. Gasoline-powered chain saws must be equipped with a protective device that minimizes chain saw kickback. Be cautious of saw kick-back. To avoid kick-back, do not saw with the tip. If equipped, keep tip guard in place. No I haven't it's not my profession.......Much love to you and your's
Hello Mr. Billy Ray, I started watching recently to learn how to handle a chainsaw and work with trees. I have really enjoyed watching and getting educated on trees, saws and life in general. You are a joy to watch you do your thing, wow, impressive to see a man gifted in his craft. I love your heart and passion for things that truly matter; faith in something greater than yourself, a love and commitment to family, an appreciation of life and a desire to be excellent. God bless you and thanks for sharing!
Love the videos. Im new to your channel and im glad i found it. I just started my own tree and landscaping business. Ever sincr i was a kid i remember climbing trees and loving nature. Now im on a path where i can love my job ans support a family. Problem is i have so much to learn. And i cant learn it all fast enough! I will be taking tree climbing classes soon so im not climbing on self tought education. I would give everything to fly out and learn all you have to teach if the opportunity presented itself. Keep it up! You are an inspiration to many people and help many more!
Buckin' sir, Thank you for creating this content. I was just thinking about you saying its too nice to be editing vids. Made me think that even after a long day out in the bush, you're coming home and putting in more hours for our entertainment. Please keep doing what you're doing!
Edu-tainment I would reckon. Love the videos. You’re showing people things about cutting timber that most never knew anything about. Again, big ups on the safety aspect of your content.
