That's feminists criticizing POC in a nutshell. Literally. Feminists don't care about racism, but the ones who pretend to will instantly throw away their racial "advocacy" to use a racially motivated argument. Their movement was founded on racism so don't expect them to actually be anti-racist. Feminists and white supremacists have a lot in common.
At this point people like these are just mentally disabled, like faaar gone degenerate people that literally need help because they'll get themselves killed or worse someone else.
"This is all about solidarity with Japan." Oh, yeah, because french feminists know what's best for Japan and its people. Where we have seen this before, I wonder?
@MrOnepiece14 The irony is that, the vast majority of missionaries were not imperialists (I'm pretty sure it was mostly just the Jesuits). The people who convinced us that they were, are the ones doing it right now.
@@shinigamimiroku3723True, the vast majority of missionaries were peaceful. It was the governments and regimes from which those missionaries hailed that were the imperialists, and said missionaries were often quite divorced from their actual homeland, as their “mission” in life quite obviously revolved around their religion. God came first before their government, hell, their families often came before government.
Femi Nazis are racists to begin with. Proof? They did nothing (Full Radio Silence) about the situation in the Middle East, yet has the gall to lecture the rest of Asia.

Absolutely disgusting, racist, slanderous behavior Full support to Akamatsu, more people need to stand for freedom of artistic expression and against censorship in media
It's very sad to see :( And it's more sad to see that there's people out there that will believe things as long as it fit their agenda without researching or citating any evidence. And to add something funny to it, lolicon/shotacon are not allowed on certain platform but for some reason, they have beastality in them. Quite a few popular one at that. Ironic how they allow Fictional Beastality but not Loli/Shota-con
Imagine calling Akamatsu the reactionary while printed deranged slander articles after hearing he'd be making an appearance at an anime expo in your country
If anything is reactionary, it's modern day feminism, which seems hell bent on cult like social control, also seems suspiciously socially conservative, & very detrimental to gender equality, despite what the apologist would advertise or claim. 🤔
@@Sketchy_2 Interesting that Japan is one of the most degenerate and perverted country, and one of the biggest exporter of porn and hentai, yet they still have laws that censor everything, even for adult
Modern feminism: One of the worst things in human civilization. Ken should just ignore them and carry on with what he's doing, that's usually the best response to these kind of people
Feminism should've stopped after women were given the rights of men. It should've never gone this far due to the brainrot they produce with making up reasons to feel inferior even when they are high above most. Also the body positivity movement is done terribly most likely run by them when only people who were effected by something they cannot control.
Nah, that's what they want. So they have an excuse to be even MORE obnoxious. Nothing like catching these hands to humble a person. Ideals fall once your life is in legitimate danger.
Japanese artists and Japan should be warned about the lies. It is like how Netflix are saying that Egypt is lying about Cleopatra, hurting Netflix in the process. Censorship is bigotry. Art is a creative expression made by people with passion and emotion. Fantasy and reality are different, even with real life themes.
@@deathxanamon7211They show Cleopatra (the 7th) and the entirety of her family as black African. When in reality her family (Ptolomeic Dynasty) was from Greek Descendants, and a really INCESTUOUS one
I’ll simply be amused with these third wave French feminists discovering that unlike the West, Japan is the exact opposite when it comes to slander. If such things damages a person’s honor, they can be held liable. Not sure about court proceedings overseas, but yeah, Japan takes it very seriously.
Back when I ran a comic book shop, we sold more copies of Love Hina, Negima, and other Akamatsu works to women more than men. When it comes to loli and shota art, women were always the biggest consumers in our community. It's so weird how our society has gone insane in just thirteen years from when I owned that shop.
It is always a question about bad faith. If you draw a child taking a bath, that is just a child taking a bath. Unless you want to be evil and condemn someone else for drawing porn. Which means the complainer is the one turning a normal picture into porn, by claiming that children are naturally pornographic because their naked bodies are extremely sexy.
@linusgustafsson2629 yeah. It is why as a teen when getting into anime I was shocked about the uncut versions of anime that broadcast in the west that would occasionally show naked children as just that, just kids. Like look at the original Dragonball. Goku as a baby is naked after being born and his undeveloped genitalia are drawn is a simplistic way with no attention or emphasis given. He is a kid and he was naked. But American broadcasts censored it. Like seeing a naked baby was illicit. It was made me think that either A: we in the west consider ALL nudity sexual in nature or B: we are so worried about paed0s that we won't allow any kids to go more than shirtless out of fear
@@bluecanine3374 Western puritanism has slowly infected every facet of the civilized world. My Neighbor Totoro has a scene of the two girls taking a bath that was cut in the initial American release. Mixed bathing is still practiced in many places in Japan. It's not sexual at all. The West's twisted perception that any nudity is taboo therefore sexual is cancerous. As a 70's child it was perfectly normal for parents to have pictures of their kids in the nude playing outside with other neighbor kids. My mother kept one picture that she loved to bring out to tease me in front of any girlfriend I brought home. Nudity is not in and of itself wrong, only people's perception of it. A drawn picture is even more removed from the equation.

There was a story about how even after the magazine Akamatsu-sensei was publishing in got greenlit on drawing nipples yet he still kept his drawings the same, without nipples. He was asked by a random Twitter user if there was any particular reason for it and actually answered the Tweet, explaining, "A nipple attacked me once! I'm scared of nipples, so I don't draw them." Many years ago, Akamatsu-sensei had been rather vocal about his concerns regarding the internet and preservation of manga. He wasn't actually a boomer about it, he understood that the internet would be very powerful in being able to allow art to persist across time, and he had a goal to make a platform that would host manga that is currently out of print, and let people access it for free - basically like a manga-oriented Project Gutenberg. It's still online, Manga Library Z. Akamatsu-sensei had officially made UQ Holder be published with a mark that greenlit ANY doujin material to be made of it without fear of legal repercussions, because he understands how important that segment of the community is to the industry. I guess what I'm trying to illustrate is the guy is based.
@@crowe6961 He wasn't a politician. He was a manga artist who said fuck you guys, I will do it myself to his government after they started threatening to heavily censor his job.

Imagine living in a country where you actually had a legitimate terrorist attack over freedom of expression, and then attacking somebody for freedom of expression
But he is still lazy. If it does take long for a bill to pass in Japan, he should have given the people a time frame, and show he supports art being uncensored and preserved.
@@LuigiTheMetal64 you understand he has to convince people to change their minds about stuff before it can get passed. It's not gonna get passed if people aren't ok with it. That's how passing laws work. Japan is also one of the few countries in the world where they were very strict about following traditions, standards and set rules, which included censoring things they thought should be censored. I don't know exactly how the board or what ever it is Ken has to convince but it would probably be more effective to convince the next generation than to change current generational minds.
We, french, have been taking many L's recently, we don't need another one 💀 Also, everyone, please don't put us all in the same box as these chicks, most french people hated Cuties, it's just a minority that are defending this crap (like everywhere else in the world). These people don't represent us in any way. This situation is really embarassing and i'm sorry for Ken.
The fact that movies like Cuties are allowed in our country (and even praised by some) but ecchi art of Akamatsu and others are literraly illegal make me question the logic of our laws 💀
What tipped me off about that country's lunacy was when i learned the fact that France banned paternity tests in legal context because cheating was so rampant so men couldn't use them to prove they weren't the father. Super fucked if you ask me...
I don't. Largely because I'm sick of everyone putting the US in every toxicity box they can get their hands on. Oh you're from the US? You must be ignorant, uncultured, touristy, selfish, stupid, fat, xenophobic, etc... I'm sick of it, frankly. It's all the same hypocritical bs. Collectivist prejudice. Ive been noticing the mob has been directly targeting manga artists lately. Its getting fairly worrying cause many of these people will legitamitely get violent if given the chance
It's because right leaning, moderates, and left leaning people all enjoy it, and the extremists want to keep everyone separated. Pop culture has a way of bringing people together, and they hate that. They also hate that Japan won't bend to their politics and make propaganda for them. No one is allowed to make art unless it's praising the Progressive Party in their eyes. Very Orwellian.
See I don't know about French law but if this happened in Japan. You would obliterated by anti defamation laws there. See in Japan if you say something slanderous against anyone and it doesn't matter if what you say is true or a lie. It is still slander. You will be fined or possibly face jail time to the full extent of the law. They don't piss about with this stuff over there as such claims could easily lead to peoples careers vanishing overnight whether they are an office worker or someone higher up the food chain.
That's literally not what slander is. Slander means that you're lying period. If you are telling the truth about someone it isn't slander. It doesn't matter if it ruins your business relationships or your reputation. If what is being said about you ends up being true and you end up getting convicted then it isn't slander.

France is still to this day the 2nd biggest consumer of mangas in the World. And since Love Hina is a bit too old for the tourists to try to pose as its '' concerned fans '' I think that this is going to fail. Although unfortunately, the woke are well entranched here, particularly in French mainstream media that never miss an opportunity to attack mangas, anime or video games.
Even then, I think nothing will append in Japan Expo. Those type of people that criticize everything on Twitter are nowhere to be found in the real world.
The most telling thing about those Cuties fans "because it denounces child exploitation and it's totally not because I got turned on small children twerking" is how many of them attack Sounds of Freedom, a movie that's also about denouncing child exploitation (albeit a different branch, though those branches often intersect), but unlike Cuties it's done without exploiting actual children
We went from calling far-right to right wingers into just calling everyone who discomfort us far-right. The badge of honor has never became so accessible than ever before...
Gotta love how they're xenophobic towards Japan for supposedly "allowing cp" (aka drawings of fictional characters), yet they turn a blind eye to the country that allowed a film that exploits real child actors.
Every single time I see or hear someone demonizing fictional content, they always have to be hypocrites hiding skeletons in their closet. Guilty of either being into the same thing that they are actively demonizing or much, much worse. *Every. Single. Time.* It’s just satire at this point. What a bunch of absolute clowns and court jesters. Not just a clown, they’re the entire circus.
Love Hina was the first manga I ever read. I was kind of a shitty young adult and this story made me reevaluate my attitude towards others and essentially allowed me to mature! I am still grateful to Ken for inspiring me to be better and it pains me that he's being subjected to all this slander and online abuse. So sad. Ken does NOT deserve this and I know there's people who'd agree with me if they read him.

I absolutely love the part where the flier went: "We are ready to act in order to protect them". Once again, some random person is getting offended in behalf of all japanese people and all of Japan and is ready to fight against non-existent threats to things that are not problematic in Japan.
"Fight" which if I could I'd change the size of those quote to at least 86 considering that the second their "fight" will require them to do a little bit more than searching something on wikipedia (the most practiced sport here in France ; source : Trust me bro) and making false allegations, they'll dodge questions, go into hiding and wait for things to calm down before coming up with something like "We have let the issue about [blank] go unpunished, but it is time to remedy it !" and start all over again.
3:58 not even 3 paragraphs in and I’m almost certain that if a American citizen wrote this about a member of the government they wouldn’t be safe from a open and shut slander lawsuit. I highly commend people like Ken Akamatsu who fight for freedom of artistic expression and are anti-censorship. I’m all for that as well. Continue fighting for freedom of artistic expression. Don’t bend the knee to those entitled authoritarian, puritanical, moral policing, hypocritical oppressors. I find this extra ironic with the pedo slander to Ken considering there are gifs and stills of french animated shows like Wakfu that show the animators drawing EVERY BODILY DETAIL on scenes where characters are naked before convenient censorship is added in the final product, even for the younger characters it's still done which I've been told is pretty commonplace in french animation. Oh yeah and a French studio also animated Totally Spies so who's really the danger to children here?
Man, back in 2010 cosplayers were not a bunch of insufferable feminists/progres/normies who wanted to integrate into the animanga community but hate common things about it and act like activists

Watsuki's situation horrified me...until someone made me understand why he basically got a slap-on-the-wrist. Hiis "cp" was of the legal variety. Formerly anyway. When he bought them they were legal, and they became illegal retroactively. He's not the only mangaka or person to have such a collection, his problem happened because when the government called for people to surrender their libraries? Watsuki didn't. A lot of other people did. And they suffered zero consequences. Watsuki's fine is so low because his big crime is not the possession of piles of kid-grape av but not surrendering what is now considered contraband. Either because he refused or because he thought they wouldn't bother in the end. If they were legal, that means they weren't actual kiddy porn. Just "themed" that way or they were manga. Which is still gross, no question. But that means he didn't have any of the yakuza-made stuff. That's why his peers still associate with and defend him. To them? The way they understand it. He's not a criminal, he's just a guy who got caught with a weird collection. The publishers and the news did take the accusation seriously, that's why his series was put on hiatus immediately and the media covered him extensively. The heat died down when the details of his actual offense came to light and the publishers, being informed, decided that despite his tarnished repute his offense didn't warrant a cancellation and he was able to resume work with a simple reminder to "do better" next time. But the damage had already been done. Especially in the pedo-wary West. Feminist groups in particular took his "light sentencing" as a call to arms. Taking it as a proof of how "backwards" Japan is without their literature to enlighten them.
CP possession was banned in 2014 in Japan with the exception of manga, anime and computer graphics. So it wasn't manga. Just because something is legal doesn't make it morally sound. Just look at the Middle East and legal abuse of children in USA schools. Some of it might've been 'tamer' than the Yakuza stuff. The stuff in his office prompted them to look for more at his residence. Their maximum sentence is 1 year in prison+ a fine of around $9k. I guess it's 'an odd collection' just because it was legal before 2015. But in the end, we don't know exactly what it was so it's hard to say exactly why his friends might stand with him or why he was given a light sentence. In my opinion, art is art, but actual people were in those films and that makes it completely different.
...Those were "real-life" children being exploited and him buying it as a consumer of that vile product made him no different to a groomer so idc if he failed to "realize" it was already made illegal from possessing it
@luvhair255 Idk if I'd say his friends stand with him. Maybe they didn't want to just bail on their friend, but I wouldn't think share the same beliefs as him.
When it comes to people defending Cuties by saying it is against the sexualization of children, I say "Yes, let's make a film about how bad it is to kill puppies by killing a bunch of puppies." Stunning and brave. If you defend Cuties you have said all I need to hear from you on any subject.
Cuties has nude minors, It should be banned and lock of anyone who watches it after they knowingly watch it. I'm still confused how it's not banned. IF it is then thank god.

It's worth noting that the LDP is a mainstream political party in Japan and have been the dominant party since WWII. They've only lost the majority twice and they gained it back within a few years. It's hard to call it far-right without calling Japan as a whole far-right. Another thing about it is that it's a big tent party, so it's divided into moderate and more extreme right wing factions. Akamatsu didn't side with any factions when he got elected. Iirc, he had to get elected through the national proportional representation block, meaning that he had to get everyone in all 47 prefectures of Japan to vote for him. I doubt an extremist could pull that off.

I'm fine with removing age of consent completely. I'd rather have a system based on power and not age. So that if someone's father forces their 18 year old daughter to have sex with him, that it is illegal despite being past age of consent. Age of consent entirely assumes that as long as you are 18+ you'll be brave enough to always call out your rapists, despite that we have decades of facts showing 18 year olds don't dare to do this but run around with their rape accusations for up to 10 years before they are brave enough to come out.

It makes sense for Ken Akamatsu to set his eyes on France since France is the largest consumer of Japanese content in the Western world. So I feel like Ken Akamatsu wants to work with the French government to provide more protections for Japanese content as well as getting the French government to reform and repeal any dumb or archaic laws that could hinder Japanese content creators.
