It would be better with an uptake on the chain rather than messing about rehooking. A ratchet and pawl system would probably do it. The feet on the tripod need some sort of plate so they don't sink in as well. As a concept machine not bad.

My same thoughts exactly at first, BUT you always have to apply (kiss) to your design. Keep it simple stupid, no offense intended. If you have one tree/post to pull then yes, but if you have many then your going to be wasting time resetting your winch on every single post. Plus more awkward moving parts to have to deal with. I own one of these and it’s awkward enough resetting from point to point. That said it’s still a hell of a good tool!

That was amazing accomplishment especially with the ground being dry. I use a t post puller pull out 10x8 posts in the ground that are not in cement. I just drill a hole in the side of the post and a slight angle up three degrees. Install a large lag bolt with about an inch sticking out. And then I use the t-post alert and it lifts it up a couple inches or so I add water around them post also to make it slide out easier. I also start shaking the post after the first bowl. Then I feel a new hole lower I had another lag bolt and the two postcode till the whole post is out of the ground.

I worked at a nursery where the greenhouses had to be covered for winter with plastic using thousands of iron stakes on each side. Come spring all those stakes had to be pulled off one by one and the job was so laborious and time consuming. We used so many contraptions and devices like the one showing here but, my true honest opinion is that NOTHING beats machinery. If there's only a couple of stakes to pull out it's alright I guess but if it needs to be done all day long, for couple of weeks a mini excavator with a metal loop will do the trick flawlessly...

Great idea to use a very pretty young woman to demonstrate this method (to increase those clicks) However I would like to advise in future, especially when using 'amateurs' Please Please get them to wear some BASIC SAFETY EQUIPMENT!! HARD HAT & GLOVES at the minimum!! Did you see how close she came to hitting her forehead on that post when she bent down for the first time!! 0:25 Then every time she was adjusting the chain I was literally WAITING for her to trap her bare fingers between the chain and the tripod! There is a very good reason why work men are FORCED BY LAW to wear a HARD HAT when they are working on site. Honestly, you really are very foolish to neglect basic safety equipment like this! (especially with amateurs) How bad would you feel if she had hit her head on that post and been left with a life long scar for the sake of making a stupid video. In fact I would think as a company ADVERTISING this equipment, and actually calling this an INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO, you're probably breaking the law by NOT having her wear protective equipment.
