So much of the criticism of JB seems misplaced. His tone is compelling, his technique is secure, his feel is just fine. And if you love guitar, how can you not appreciate this guy who promotes the instrument in such a positive light? He’s not perfect, but who is? He’s immensely talented, and it seems to me his note choices keep getting better and better each year. Some other well-known guitarists seem to always rely on a highly processed sound even when just demoing a guitar. The delay pedal, the chorus effect, etc., are always on full throttle. Not so with JB. To be sure, he uses effects at times, but he doesn’t need to hide behind them when demoing a guitar or amp, not from what I can hear. He’s a great ambassador for the instrument and for the blues. The guitar community should respect that he honors the blues traditions, pays homage to the greats that preceded him, and remains a down-to-earth bloke.
Nice amp and awesome playing by Joe! But at $3,500, it's not for most of us. I must say that I'm quite happy with my 1973 silverface Fender Deluxe Reverb amp that I bought used for $500. It pumps out 22 watts thru a 12" inch alnico Celestion gold speaker that has a nice bottom end.
Fortunately the market is full of different options, low and high prices this one is not low price, as you said, you can buy a 500 dlls amp if your budget is short. There are many options outside for different needs.
Love listening to Maestro Bonamassa demonstrate this amazing piece. Proof that though technology is doing some amazing things, the amplifier in the room is still as much an instrument as what is plugged into it.
Thanks so much for your comment! I'd never before thought of the amp as being an instrument in and of itself. I've got a lot to learn! But, of course, it's obvious now that you've mentioned it. The amp just plays a different role in the creation of music than the music instruments themselves....but they all work together for the final sound and/or performance.
This is sick as hell. I can’t believe I’m just now finding out about this. Man, good for you Joe. You’re doing a great service to preserve and reissue this history. And good for Fender! They did it justice!
Wow, that amp’s too cool for color TV! Having Joe demo your equipment guarantees people will notice! I’m betting Norm’s will have a few of these when they become available. Yeah, very cool! Much respect to Joe and Fender for their dedication to tone! 👍
Right? Weird things going on with it. Sometimes it's all black, sometimes it's gray and sometimes it's two tone. One thing's for sure, it's definitely not chrome like the original. That would have been too expensive and would have cut into Joe's profits.
@@RodRanDusted Unfortunately you can't. It's actually structural. The baffle board is in two pieces. The metal strip is covering the seam and strengthening the cabinet.
It's not even old. They could have easily sourced current production octal tubes which gave the amp it's fat open sound. 12ax7 substitutes was probably a cost cutting measure. Octal tubes were made for sound unlike the 9 pin miniature tubes. Leo switched over to save $$$. BTW celestion speakers were the cheapest Jim Marshall could find and not the best sounding. Try Tone Tubbies if want a hi fi speaker for musical instruments. The best money can buy.
Dumble used cheap parts from Radio Shack to build his amps and they turned out ok. Sometimes it’s a sum of the parts. The ears cannot tell how expensive or inexpensive something is. Just my two cents. Peace ✌️
A quick online search shows that Sovtek actually currently makes the same 6SJ7 preamp tubes that were used in the original V Front Dual Professional. If only they'd put the same effort inside the amp as they do the outside.
Sonically, it's pretty damn impressive in the video. Would love to hear one in a small venue setting. It looks like you've created another investment opportunity for gear collectors with this one. It's a pretty hefty price point for a gigging musician, sadly. Looking forward to seeing you this November!
When l saw Joe's fender champ collection , I thought he owns so many of them - that the he could effect the price and availability of these classic amps . I am glad he is part of reissuing these classic tube amp . I how ever - am a player not a collector . There are multiple ways to achieve that vintage sound . Transistors or tube , digital or analog , cheap or expensive .
It’s ridiculous he’s an amazing player anyone that says otherwise has an obsession about the blues not being played too fast 😂 Joe has incredible feel and phrasing
@@kane6529 exactly! I finally got to see him live last year the day after Thanksgiving... It was EPIC! He finished with mountain time and I was amazed... I love that song. Got it all recorded and uploaded on my RU-vid channel....
@@kane6529 lol this guy is brutal. Its almost like robot blues thats how stiff he is. Sunglasses and a suit doesnt help either. So what hes good on the guitar he still lacks originality and artistry. Less is more.
The center metal strip looks 3D, just as the amp sounds three-dimensional. Great job all the way around on this amp… tasty playing of course makes it come to life, and it certainly came to life. Going to get one more new amp in my life, and it will be one of these. Thanks Joe.
I saw an original one at McKenzie River Music in Eugene, OR in the early 2000s. I didn't realize how rare they were. Thanks for bringing this back Joe.
I’ve been waiting for this since you hinted to it a while back…. And the tone is incredible! I believe BFG is a huge connoisseur of these and probably has the lions share of Professionals that have been out in the wild. Unfortunately, this is a lot of scratch - especially during these times - but maybe someday! 😊
I would love to see Joe do a tour with all Charvel and only SLO100s. Just go straight high metal for a band like the Funk Party band. Would be amazing. I would go 100%
Thanks Joe , not a musician in any form , thou Love watching and listening to your music, and dedicated to my special friend @M. Lou , Peace & Love to all Bonamassa Fans around the world.
Hi, riverrat55. It's a little late in the day, but very good to see you! Sorry I missed the video at the time it posted, but it's good for any time. I always enjoy Joe's presentations, and especially his guitar playing.
Hello, thank you for your love and support from the start, it is a pleasure to be blessed with the best fans, thank you, I appreciate you and everyone out there❤️
If Joe B. had a hand in it, just buy it. This guy knows what he’s talking about. The fact that he plays everything from a Gretsch to a Charvel shred machine thru an amp from 1940 something shows how good this amp is. I saw this guy play once, and he is Good! with a capital G. And I’m not really a hardcore blues fan. PS- I don’t know what this amp costs, but I’m pretty certain I can’t afford it, then again, neither is my playing worthy of such an amp.
@@robnamowicz8073 - I do play loud. I just don’t call it music, I call it science. Therefore, anyone who complains is guilty of being a science denier. But, to be truthful, a lot of times I even give myself a headache. But the work must continue!!! Cheers buddy!
I'm watching this on my Joe Bonamassa TV, and typing on my Joe Bonamassa bluetooth keyboard. My Joe Bonamassa headphones are reproducing accurate sound as I sit back in my Joe Bonamassa recliner. My wonderful wife just handed me a cup of Joe Bonamassa coffee in one of my 7 Joe Bonamassa coffee mugs. I just have 1 question: How did Fender manage to convince Joe to put his name on something?
Well, you know, it's a mutual admiration society. Somehow VIPs just seem to know each other. That's the way of life. Nobody makes anybody buy anything. But it appears some people buy everything, LOL 😂
All adding a shorting link to the second input does is load the guitar pickup with a 10k resistance and reduce the low frequency response from the guitar pickup as it is then mismatched. Turning the bass control down does the same thing!
I have a 49 and 50 Deluxe with similar tweed patterns, both sound amazing but have 2 6v6 output tubes with a single 12 speaker. Have a 53 Pro that went to a 1/15 at that juncture 2/6l6 tubes . Also have a 59 Super with two 10s with 6l6 tubes its a beast. I'm a lucky man hehe!
@@danlovepeaceunity no originality??? You've made the same braindead comment 3 times...🤦♂️ maybe try to find some of that originality you so badly crave...🤷♂️

@@danlovepeaceunity... My very favorite album is Joe's 2009 Royal Albert Hall concert. He was young, 31 years old at the time, I believe, and full of promise for a strong music career. He was so very good, but still somewhat freshly minted, so his enthusiasm was extremely contagious. Try to find the DVD or Blu-ray. Or look on RU-vid for the 2009 Royal Albert Hall concert for various songs. But I could just as easily name other albums and concerts that are superb also. It's hard to make a choice, because there are so many and they are all excellent. I have lots of favorite songs, one of which is his rendition of Leon Russell's "Hummingbird" at the Greek Theatre. It's a spectacular interpretation and arrangement. I think that was in 2016. It's here on RU-vid. My favorite song that he wrote himself is "Mountain Time" from the 2009 RAH concert. Also on RU-vid. Check out his channel. Also look on YT for his collaboration with Beth Hart. I especially like his solo in "Id Rather Go Blind." He is in other bands too. Check out Black Country Communion band (more of a hard rock feel) and also Rock Candy Funk Party band (more of a jazz-funk). I hope this gets to you, as I have tried to send information to you twice earlier, and for some reason both postings failed.
