Key Characteristics of George’s Playing: b5/diminished chords C# note over G chord, instead of chromatic in something solo Middle pick up Slide guitar Sitar tone (perhaps from 12 string acoustic) Indian Influence at 35:30, rhythmic patterns Capo on 7th All treble tone from Savoy Truffle By more creative more guitar play eg think of chords differently (in terms of smaller shapes rather than normal shapes 38:30) When listening to music think about what the guitar is doing and what it’s doing in relation to each instrument Find your own way around your instrument Identify the notes when you’re soloing
Nice video...Open E = Elmore James ...George was also a huge Elmore James fan like Brian Jones...However All Things must pass is a masterpiece.Thank you George🎸🎙🕉🙏
Sinatra said Something was the best love song ever. He attributed it to Lennon and McCartney. By the way, Harrison overdubbed the solo on Something in Abbey road Studios on a Gibson Les Paul.
George in my opinion was an equal to John and Paul as a song writer. It took George a while to catch up, and as you said the biggest hits on Abby road belonged to George, and not to mention his post Beatle career. note: After their last live concert Candlestick Park, in Aug 1966 George said with joy "I am not a Beatle anymore"
Iota 2022. I suppose the guitar has been won by now. I wish you’d streamed this video today. My dog knocked my guitar over and the headstock snapped off😖.
Not trying to contribute anymore negativity to these cesspools of it in RU-vid comment sections...but as an honest critique, this video would’ve been much less cluttered and more cohesive if it was only Jimmy being filmed. As with a majority of two-man music gear/ demo videos, there’s too much talking and playing over each other, which as a viewer is distracting and at times slightly irritating. That’s my ultimately meaningless $0.02.
