Very interesting. A lot of good information. I didn't know about the Alt Crz mode. I just tought it had a hard time keeping the altitude. Also the hard tune with capital letters and remember to clear it, was very usefull. It's like a light typerating for us simmers. Thanks.
Excellent thank you! Love these bite sized 20 minute tutorials. It feels like we are getting first class professional teaching from a top professional and also in a professional aircraft that behaves exactly like the real thing!
I've been working in Aerospace my whole career and various types of aircraft as an engineer and I've been flying simulations since the mid-80s when you can barely simulate anything on Microsoft flightsim 5. This video hits the mark
Thank you so much! I love your videos 😊 Could you please make a dedicated Playlist only containing Fenix tutorials or add in the naming the number of the video in the sequence for better reference. Many thanks 😊👍
Great content. Short and crisp. I frankly have unsubscribed from most other similar channels because of the quality of the content on this channel. Kudos!!! Joined the discord also today.
Lots of things happen very quickly during the take off. Awesome video. Even though as a veteran armchair pilot I know well what to do in an A320, the video provides excellent small tips and details out of the real life, to enchance further our simming. Thanks!
I LOVE YOU I have been playing my Ice Detection Light ITS ACE. ALL THIS TIME I NEVER KNEW WHAT IT WAS AND IT HAD A LIGHT. ALL THIS TIME I would love Offset Route instructs and Diverts if u have done any. I Know u IZZZ Busy Body. BRILLIANT LOVE YOU, I DO VR all the time LOL.
I find the rudder very sensitive during takeoff and roll off, could you share your sensitivities for the Saitek rudder pedals please? And about the TCA sidestick, you said you were using default/linear, but my default is not linear, it’s at -50%. Thanks :)
That’s the terrible ground physics in the sim for you, not much Fenix can do about it. But hopefully that will change as Asobo are finally doing SOMETHING to counteract the issue by adding four new parameters to the ground physics soon. Hopefully it will make a big difference and devs update their aircraft with them.
Love the videos. Was wondering. Why do you have to hold nose down on initial takeoff, until you reach 80-100knts? I have had this aircraft for sometime, but just now getting really into it. Well done.
Thanks so much for another outstanding Video. Could you at some point do a seperate video explaigning exactly all the small things regarding anti ice? It´s quiet interersting. So you turn on ENG anti ice but not Wing anti ice. Really curios on why that is. :-) Again thank you for all the content
So in ALT CRZ mode the airplane set a relativ stable thrust setting and tries to hold the speed by pitching slightly up and down? Love your channel. You seem to be a very nice guy 🤗👍
Wait so you don't have to engage the autopilot for the plane to follow the route in the MCDU? I'm just now getting into the A320 because of the block 2 update even though I've had it since release last. Been using the PMDG 737 but I must say this A320 is another level in all aspects. Thanks for the awesome vids, really easy to follow and concise! Subbed and liked.
Thx learning the FBW since a few days. Are you a belgian pilot? I see you use EBBR quite alot and also saw a BEL sign somwhere, just curious :) (Belgian myself)
During take-off roll, what would you typically monitor to reject before V1? Is it a high speed scan if outside (potential bird strike, potential vehicles infringing runway), inside (engine parameters, other instruments), etc… is that a specific flow?
Thank you for this tutorial! Do you use rudder pedals? Can you share your's settings, please? I'm struggling to have the plane on the center line during the take-off roll.
In your video, you suggested displaying airports on the ND. Does the Fenix only show airports with a suitable runway length for an A320 on the ND, or are all MSFS airports shown? Thanks by the way for all of your videos!
Thanks for another great tutorial. Question - To the left and right of the MCDU keypad there are two black strips hiding some kind of display (Left looks to be 'FAIL FM'; Right looks like 'NCDU MENU' ). Can you explain at some stage what these are?
Hello there! Quick question, Captain. At 6:30, you said "AP is available" and then pressed the AP button to activate it. How do you know that AP is available? Is there any indication on the panel or is it because you are passing 1000? Maybe it's a silly question, but I've always waited to be above 1000 to activate it. Perhaps there's something that I'm missing!
On the Airbus it is available shortly (a few seconds) after liftoff. So pretty much once you’ve rotated and are pitched onto the flight director you can engage it if you wish. There is no indication in the flight deck to tell you it is or isn’t available. You don’t need to wait until 1000! I hope this helps!
As always, this was a terrific video. I'm experiencing some issues. First, every time I engage takeoff thrust, I get alarms. This eventually stops. Secondly, after takeoff and I retract the gear, I get an alarm. Why is this happening? I would like it to stop. I don't see this happening in your videos, and I believe I'm doing everything correctly. Any idea what is causing this? Thanks in advance, sir.
Sorry to jump on: I've seen your specs and wondering what FPS you tend to get in the fenix at addon airports with quite a bit of detail? I'm on a GTX 1080TI and Ryzen 5 5600x and wondering if it's worth the upgrade to similar specs to yourself... I average around 35 FPS in the PMDG at EGCC payware :)
Does the initial NAV after SRS follow the SID even if AP isn’t selected yet? Or does it only show on the FD to follow manually? Also, regarding RWY. Is that only a visual guidance on PFD or automatically followed? Lastly, thank you so much for your content. Really learning so much here.
Good day. Airbus pilot. Thanks for bring us such a good video. and I recently took an A320-200 flight in real life. there's one thing that confuses me, I heard PTU sound when retract and release landing gear. it makes me feel strange, did they shut down eng 1 or 2 pump while flying? and I tried many many times heard nothing about PTU on Fenix cabin when retract or release landing gear which it may need consume more green hydraulic pressure. I thought I can only hear PTU on the ground. but when retract and release landing gear? am I wrong or just Fenix ain't simulate it right? I am so confused
These tutorials are really helpful and have taken me thus far from zero to cruising. However, I am struggling to interpret some of the errors that inevitably arrive. Some are obvious but others not so e.g. LVR ASYM in amber: what does that mean? and are there any of these errors available anywhere as an aid? Again great stuff and really helpful.
OK: I found out what the problem was. It was related to my thrust levers being out of alignment, though they actually physically werent. I adjusted the nullzone from to to 3 then back again then moved to thrust levers from CL then back again.
What is the Key for lifting off on fenix. I don’t have a yoke so use pc control settings, got to take off mode.. great! But how the hell do you lift off.
You don't want to push the climb button in because it will accelerate beyond 250kts below 10k' and ignoring all constraints, right?. Pulling it gives a managed climb following the flight plan, constraints and the MCDU, right?
Hello , can you explain me why when I setup my prefs before takeoff the V1 ,VR and V2 are around 150 kt or even more then 150 every flight . I am doing something wrong . Does not matter how long the flight is and how many fuel I have . 6t or 10t all the time 150kt . Thank you
hello captain... i have problem on flying fenix 320 after take off then reach the set altitude my AP turn off... (AUTO FLT AP OFF).. what is the reason of this one..? thank you.. 😊
When I reach cruise the jet settles in. Then I notice even though speed has assigned bug the speed continues to climb into red zone. Autopilot disengaged and I can't recover. My throttle is gated CL. Any ideas what might I have done wrong?
Do you know, why in fenix a320 keys assigned for controlling autopilot doesn't work? I wanted to assign keys from thrustmaster throttle addons (rudder trim for increase-decrease according to auto brk which would be selector which mode i want to adjust) but i realised, that none of the assigned keys work there, even on a keyboard.
Everything is fine but when I take off in the FMA the Blue "nav" remains blue and it goes automatically to "hdg"mode and stays there - it just will not go into "nav -- any comments/advice will be appreciated with a 'Thanks" contribution
I have a question: Whenever I engage the autopilot after takeoff to climb to a, for instance, constrained altitude of 2000ft, the automatic climb is always too quick, over 4000ft/min, even if there is a lot of time to reach the desired altitude and stay within the constrain. What am I doing wrong?
On the FCU, when changing information, my mouse cursor does not change to the small up/down arrow indicating I am pushing or pulling that knob (for manual or managed). What setting should I change to have my mouse cursor show as it does in this video? (see 9:06)
Anyone have any thoughts? So Ive been having an issue that I cant seem to resolve. Even have an email into Fenix. They have asked some additional follow up questions, but still no solution as of yet. Here is the issue: just after takeoff, following positive climb, i retract gear. About 2 seconds later a loud consistent buzzing type warning goes off. Nothing shows on the ECAM or otherwise. If I lower gear back down, sound goes away. I typically take off with flaps set to 1, and only retract gear after positive climb. Have delayed this in my efforts to figure out what is going on, but even after several hundred feet of elevation, still begins loud buzzing as soon as gear is retracted. So here is another issue, it doesnt always do this. So I keep thinking there is a setting that is causing this, but I follow all preflight checks, run all mcdu programming etc etc. Any ideas?
Does the sim crash for anyone else? The weird thing is that it doesnt crash when I fly any airline that isnt lufthansa. I ran the game for 7 non stop hours without crashing but as soon as I load and take off the airplane with the lufthansa livery, it crashes the sim…
Hi, I don't know if I'm the only one but when I try to save a custom camera in the 320 fenix it just doesn't work. I tried the technique where you have to modify the "cameras.cfg" file but it still doesn't work. Any idea how to fix this problem?
Hello, we are trying to get in touch with you to discuss some business. We cannot find the email address on the about page. Can you point us in the right direction?
