Legend. He really, really legit does not care what anyone thinks. The last couple of mins of this are the best because he is so into the music he's playing, headbanging and grooving, and every other person in the room is sitting politely still. It's evidence that extraordinary people will always be seen as freaks.
I mean see it this way- this guy is one of the heads of the second Wave of Bm, and a freakin' music maniac (like me) and his taste is amazing- 70's Rock, Black Metal, 80's Death Metal. He's past 40, recorded 20 Albums in the last 25 Years. He's known, yet he acts like a boy of 12 being interviewed for a school mag. He's (truly) one of the "truest" (or trvest" :D) and honest metal musicians out there.
I enjoy the nervousness, not so much that it meant it was an uncomfortable setting for him, more so that its cool to see people I admire have to deal with the same shit I do. I am used to people I admire being larger-than-life well spoken and out going characters, but Fenriz is always the one guy who I feel a common bond with regarding socializing and dealing with certain anxieties. It shows you how real of a person someone is.
@@GyroLamb it's foolish to define an entire genre by the 3 idiots Euornymous, Varg and Faust. Most of the people in the scene were just regular young men. The vast majority of the trouble was done by those 3.
I love how passionnate Fenriz is when speaking about the music that influenced him, he looks a bit nervous though. Too bad the other two aren't very interested in what he's saying.
+kcrich13 Or maybe she was just being more polite than the other guest and was trying to reassure him you know, my teachers do that when I present my projects. Just because a girl smiles at you it doesn't mean she want to bang you. And I don't think a "regular" girl would find him cute, he's a frickin viking in a battle jacket.
+Klawee Lawless You'll be surprise to know how many girls go crazy for him (I'm one of them lol). It's not about his look, is his passion for music, his confidence and of course sense of humour what makes it attractive
He's honest, humble and passionate. Its no wonder people gravitate towards him, dude stays true to himself. I get the feeling that he does his best to live without regrets, and to play what he loves unashamed. His musical style has been a big influence on me for many years, and it seems im always learning something new here and there. or hearing old things in new ways, if that makes sense. Its a reminder to stay true and keep an open mind. thats how i see it i guess. Mad Respect.
+trippy.fungus nah i think it's cool. they're just awkward and nervous and taking it moment by moment just like he is. i don't think there's any bs going on.
Same here!! Everyone but the interviewer seems so bored and uninterested, and the poor guy is kinda nervous, for obvious reasons. If I was there, I'd be quite glad to listen to every word out of his mouth. He did handle it like a pro, though. :3
At first I had the same feeling, but then I think it is just the recording really. Notice how quiet the claps and cheers are, and how aplified and shitty the recording of their voices through the mic. I think that difference gives it a cold feeling, as if everyone's silent. Whereas in fact I think it was way more cheerful.
I see him chilled he handles athmosohere just right he is not entertainment and he is very down to earth so he doesn't give a damn a shit that's my first impression
Fenriz has been mentioning the Sweet Freedom album in interviews forever. So back in 2007, when I was 16, I bought the album and it opened the door to 60s/70s music for me. It kinda was the opposite process - from Darkthrone to The Doors, lol.
I love Fenriz. One night before attending a metal show my ex made some dig along the lines of "Uhhm. Yeah. You shouldn't wear that Uriah Heep shirt to the show. You will embarrass yourself and people will think you're weird." Ouch. This was right after seeing Uriah Heep live for the first time, meeting and headbanging with them on stage, and having the time of my life. Hearing Fenriz and King Diamond express how much they love the band makes my heart feel warm, so thanks for posting this.
Well, i love Fenriz and Darkthrone music for sure, but also don't judge the other people on the panel before you listen to their opinions. I watched the whole discussion on the link provided and i ve to say everyone had something interesting to add to the whole concept. So give it a try
I agree. Some people commenting here are really close minded and only judge for this video. I posted only this part bc I'm a fan of Fenriz but I watched the whole panel and I enjoyed it. The music the other people showed was really interesting, the girl showed a song that sounds kinda heavy, even Fenriz agreed and overall he seemed to enjoyed being invited
@@MissDafne92 Yeah, quite a few immature comments here, which is to be expected sadly. These fans of Fenriz should learn from him and be more open minded (he listens to loads of non-metal music). I just watched the whole video and all the music the guests brought were interesting and they're clearly passionate. Of course Fenriz's enthusiasm/charisma is more engaging, but just because the other guests aren't as expressive doesn't mean they're being snooty or pretentious. People just have different personalities and ways of dealing with public speaking.
I fucking love Fenriz! I totally get what he said about hearing the bass differently when stoned. The bass and rhythm sections make more of an impression. Its a totally awesome thing being able to appreciate music in a sonically different way. Cool video! Thanks for sharing
This is so true!! And being a musiclover etc. etc. myself you just know the feeling of what‘s going on. First love and being blown away by something. And then maybe if it‘s good enoughbto hold up being able to relive it plus appreciate all of the above. Simply great!! Some can and will sadly never understand or feel this.
odibex: Of course music can be an emotional topic. However, it's obvious that he is not choosing to share whatever emotion he had or still has with those there, but the interviewer is attempting to exploit the situation by making it appear that he is doing so. He's practically putting words in his mouth. It's frustrating.
Who the fuck even are the other people he’s with?! They seem completely soul less and awkward. There’s not even any kind of movement from them to what’s clearly some great music?! I could sit with him and go through music like that forever. What a legend.
Take Fenriz out of this, and you'd have a funeral. A boring funeral. With people sipping tea. Talking about their expensive merino wool cardigans. Or whatever.
I Really Love Fenriz, It Changed my herat to hear Metal, I have his compilation Preparing For War Triple Box Set and all amost all Albuns Dark Throne. He most be hear listening to something of the Uria Heep type.
RAY NL he had his own project called Isengard, and he did vocals for that.........along with various other side projects that he did some vocals for. Darkthrone isn’t the only band that Fenriz has been in, y’know.

@@fukkkkkkkk Yes I know, dude. But he isn't a vocalist. His whole being deep inside is to be a drummer. You really don't need to tell me stuff about him, dude. I've been listening to his stuff since the early 90's. I do feel old saying that though...
That's one of the reasons I started thinking darkthrone was at another level I was tired of the bullshit scene considering heavy just what ever is new and blah blah blah when you for fact know these musicians in their carrier were inspired by bands like Iron Maiden and many other ones that were in Acid I love the organ and the music like that it sounds just perfect of course, only real musicians know that the roots of everything I completely agree here with Fenriz I was also raised the same way listening as a kid Led Zeppelin I'll be in my 30s already and I grew up listening to 90's and 80's so accept who you are motherfucking damn it I'm tired of the scene moving in lies and everyone been so coincided instead of listening and understanding the real feeling of a song and the projections it has for you black metal scene is a wave and is always always changing and Is good I'm glad many bands have been improving their skills but sometimes I feel they get lost in real life...!
Love Fenriz. I watched for 10 minutes and realized that the guy next to him is Paal Nilssen-Love, just the greatest drummer on the planet. I have to watch the whole thing now to see what he has to say.
i have that album Uriah Heep - Sweet Freedom and listened to it everyday its an epic part of my childhood also . I still have it now 40 years later played it a while ago still blows me away . \m/ 0 ii 0 \m/
Its great that this album still means so much 2 him...Uriah Heep was the 2nd concert I ever saw back in the 70s & they killed, even tho they got slagged off as a poor mans Deep Purple their early records rock like nobodies bizniz.
