It's incredible that both of them are younger than Federer in this video and are playing exhibition tournaments while Roger is still playing GS finals and beating 20-something year old players
I've got to say i really enjoyed watching this match. I don't know if it's maybe them beeing slower, not as great defenders any more letting us really see the patterns of play beeing effective, or maybe just getting to see two very likeable retired guys on court again. Also these two guys were used to representing theyr respective countrys while on tour so always good showmen.
Do these two even age? They still look exactly as they did 10 years prior to this match. I mean players like Nadal and Federer, you can tell they have put on some years in appearance. (not talking about tennis skill or anything)
I love Roddick, but he is way way way too afraid to flatten out his forehand. Gonzalez uses plenty of spin, but at least he is not afraid to rip some powerful shots, while Roddick does not do enough with his chances.
True, but that's what makes that tour so interesting and compelling, ya know? Trust me, John McEnroe loves it to death lol. He loves it. The younger cats keep him in tip top shape all the time. John stays so freakin' competitive.*
Why are these guys even retired, they could probably both still do very well on the regular tour. Especially Roddick, he's two years younger than Federer...
Fernando is only 1 year older than Federer too, although Federer is not really the norm, he's a beast and by far the best player in history. I agree that both Fernando and Andy could still be playing on the Tour and be on the Top 50-100.
Jimnik088 It's a champions tour final, almost like an exhibition match. It's not only about winning it, but also about the entertainment factor. I'm pretty damn sure Andy could still unleash that crazy serve of his if he really wanted to.
