This is an exceptionally original Ferrari Dino 246 GT from the second Italian owner with only 63000 kms from new. It was owned by its last owner since 1984. It it almost in fully unrestored condition. It has been resprayed only once in its original color, just for the fact that the forty year old original paint layer lost its gloss.
Except for the carpets that have been renewed, the car has its fully original interior. It is an “ASI” Goldplate car.
Dino was a marque for mid-engined, rear-drive sports cars produced by Ferrari from 1968 to 1976. The Dino marque was meant to be used for cars with engines that had fewer than 12 cylinders, reserving the Ferrari name for the V-12 and flat 12 models. The Dino name was retired after that point, in favour of conventional Ferrari branding. The Dino brand was an attempt by Ferrari to produce a relatively low-cost sports car.
The Dino models used Ferrari racing naming designation of displacement and cylinder count with two digits for the size of the engine in deciliters and the third digit to represent the number of cylinders, i.e., 246 being a 2.4-litre 6-cylinder and 308 being a 3.0-litre 8-cylinder. Ferrari street models of the time used a three-digit representation of the displacement in cubic centimeters of one of the 12 cylinders, which would have been meaningless in a brand with differing numbers of cylinders.
The Dino 246 was the first Ferrari model produced in high numbers. It is lauded by many for its intrinsic driving qualities and groundbreaking design. In 2004, Sports Car International placed the car at number six on its list of Top Sports Cars of the 1970s. Motor Trend Classic placed the 206/246 at number seven in their list of the 10 "Greatest Ferraris of all time".

I like your videos a lot and they are always classy and well edited/photographed. But i have to say this still remains my favourite (when I eventually get my bordeaux dino 246gt on the road hopefully I will be able to enjoy the summer roads too!) Hurrah that the Dino seems at last to be getting proper recognition as a beautifully designed car, Cheers, Johnny

This is a wonderful video, especially since there's not a lot of jabbering while the car is being shown. I remember seeing a yellow one of these in a showroom in Houston back in the 80s. Lovely car. Thank you!!

+SuperCarClassics - Europe's leading Classic Car Channel! Yes, so many "woulda-coulda-shoulda" things from years past. When I was in college, in Austin, I remember driving to school one morning and seeing a beautiful old blue car parked in front of a gas station with a for sale sign on the windshield. It was so unbelievably beautiful, in spite of all the dings and blemishes, I pulled over to look at it. It was a type of BMW I'd never heard of before, a 507. I asked one of the guys in the gas station how much they wanted for it, and he said something like $2,000. It's speedometer was in kilos. It had no engine. But it was so gorgeous, I wanted it, even if just to put in in the living room on display. It was totally impractical, and I was a poor college student, so I left. Thought about it several hours, then drove back. It was gone. They told me some guy bought it, saying he was going to put a 327 Chevy engine in it. Always wondered what happened to it.
